Risk: Reverse light failure may reduce visibility, and not alert pedestrians and other drivers that the vehicle is backing up, increasing the risk of a crash.

The load carrying capacity modification label may display inaccurate added weight values. Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2024 Sequoia Hybrid, Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles. The passenger-side front and rear tires may have inner sidewall damage, which can cause a sudden loss of tire pressure.

Risk: A sudden loss of tire pressure can result in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

The contact owns a 2024 Toyota Tundra Hybrid. The contact stated while driving 40-45 MPH uphill and depressing the brake pedal to come to a stop at the red traffic light, the brake pedal travelled down to the floorboard, and the vehicle failed to respond. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle started rolling backwards while in drive(D). The contact shifted to park(P), but the vehicle continued to roll backwards. The contact stated upon engaging the electric parking brake, the vehicle stopped. The contact stated that after the vehicle was turned off and restarted, the vehicle responded as needed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the failure could not be duplicated. The contact filled out a form to allow the vehicle data to be retrieved per the dealer's recommendation. The contact stated that the manufacturer's engineers were assisting the dealer in diagnosing the vehicle. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 11,200.
