VISIBILITY/WIPER

There is a glare from the dashboard of the vehicle that shines onto the windshield and causes visibility to be nearly impossible. I am unable to see certain things on the roadway as a result. This happens every single time the sun happens to be out and is an extreme safety issue. This vehicle is not safe to operate or be on the roadway in any way shape or form

PARKING BRAKE

The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Blazer. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle independently came to an abrupt stop, with the "Service Parking Brake" message displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where an attempt to duplicate the failure was unsuccessful. The contact was informed that the failure was likely a user error and that no issues were found with the vehicle. The failure persisted, and the contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V433000 (PARKING BRAKE); which the contact linked to the failure. The vehicle was taken back to a dealer for the recall repair. The contact stated that the repair involved the installation of an anti-abrasive tape around the wiring harness. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a representative was sent to inspect the vehicle. The Chevrolet Representative was later informed by the dealer that the brake lines were already taped prior to the recall and that no additional repairs were needed. The vehicle remained in the possession of the dealer because the contact was concerned about the safe operation of the vehicle. The failure mileage was unknown.

VISIBILITY/WIPER

Glossy components on the Blazer EV dashboard reflect onto the windshield in most daylight driving conditions. The glare is excessive and makes it difficult to discern pedestrians and other obstructions. Chevrolet acknowledged the design flaw when they recently started providing free dash covers for the Equinox EV. The Equinox and Blazer EV dashboards are essentially the same. A dash cover is not a permanent solution though, and Chevrolet should replace the glossy dashboard components with a material that is less reflective.
