2019 VOLVO S90 Complaints and Recall Information
The 2019 VOLVO S90 has 1 complaint and 6 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report sudden unintended acceleration leading to crashes without prior warning or dashboard alerts. The single complaint involves unexpected acceleration causing a collision after a recent software update.
Common Issues
- Unintended acceleration. A complaint cites the vehicle suddenly accelerating at low speed without driver input, resulting in a crash and airbag deployment. There were no warning lights or indications prior to the incident.
Six recalls affect several systems including seating, fuel delivery, electrical wiring, telematics software, and forward collision avoidance systems.
Recalls
- Front seat assembly. (NHTSA Recall 19V220000) Approximately 2,297 vehicles are affected by missing flange nuts on the front seat rails. Missing nuts can compromise seat structure during a crash, increasing injury risk. Dealers will inspect and install missing nuts free of charge.
- Fuel pump fuse failure. (NHTSA Recall 21V414000) Around 85,550 vehicles have a defect where the low-pressure fuel pump fuse may blow. Fuse failure can cause engine stall and increase crash risk. Dealers will replace the fuse at no cost.
- Vehicle Connectivity Module software. (NHTSA Recall 18V800000) Approximately 17,548 vehicles contain software errors in the connectivity module that may prevent GPS location transmission to emergency responders after a crash. Dealers will update the software free of charge.
- Automatic Emergency Braking system. (NHTSA Recall 20V144000) Affecting about 121,605 vehicles, a software/hardware incompatibility may prevent the system from detecting obstacles and engaging properly. This raises crash risk. Dealers will update the Active Safety Domain Master software free of charge.
Owners facing repeated repairs or unresolved safety recall issues with this vehicle should consider consulting their state’s lemon law guidelines for potential protections and remedies.
