  • Wheelchair lift outer barrier. Recall 21V597000 involves 266 vehicles. The lift’s outer barrier may fail under force, risking injury to occupants if a mobility device pushes against it. Volvo Bus will reinforce the barrier with additional supports free of charge. Owners were notified from 2021 through 2022.
  • Engine start safety. Recall 20V597000 affects 10 vehicles. The engine may start even if the starter disabling switch is activated during servicing, risking technician injury. Volvo Bus will provide a software update at no charge. Notification began in November 2020.
  • Ignition switch defect. Recall 20V597000 also covers ignition switches in 10 vehicles with the same issue as the engine start safety recall. A software update will be provided free of charge to correct the defect.
  • Seat belt anchorage failure. Recall 19V724000 impacts 34 vehicles from 2018 to 2020. Passenger seat belt attachments may not properly restrain occupants in crashes, increasing injury risk. Dealers will reinforce seat belt anchorages at no cost with notifications starting December 2019.
  • Transmission C1 hub failure. Recall 20V803000 includes 553 vehicles from 2015 to 2020. Failure of the transmission hub may disable the bus, forcing passengers to transfer buses roadside and increasing injury risk. Dealers will update Transmission Control Module software free of charge. Risk: In the event that a mobility device pushes into the outer barrier, the barrier may fail, increasing the risk of injury for the lift occupant.
