2017 VICINITY VI33 Complaints and Recall Information
The 2017 VICINITY VI33 has 0 complaints and 6 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report issues related to the fuel system involving compressed natural gas (CNG) components and their mounting structures. These concerns focus on potential gas leaks and the safety of the CNG tanks and hoses.
There are six recalls addressing various safety defects primarily involving the fuel system components and CNG tank security. The recalls affect mounting structures, hoses, fittings, and tank integrity across affected vehicles.
Recalls- Fuel tank mounting (24V059000). Fourteen vehicles are affected by inadequate clearance that allows the CNG tanks to contact mounting structures or safety cables and risk damage. A damaged tank may leak natural gas, increasing fire risk. Dealers will inspect and adjust the mounting structure as an interim repair and may replace the mounting structure and tanks if necessary. Owners are advised not to drive the vehicle if adjustments cannot be made.
- Low-pressure CNG hoses and fittings (24V385000). Twenty-eight buses have insufficient low-pressure CNG hoses and fittings leading to possible leaks. The defect fails to meet FMVSS 304 standards. Compressed natural gas leaks can cause fire or explosion hazards. Owners must remove vehicles from service until repairs replace the hoses free of charge. The recall includes a "Do Not Drive" advisory until the remedy is applied.
Owners with repeated repairs or unresolved fuel system safety defects may have rights under state lemon laws related to persistent safety recalls. Legal consultation may assist with understanding those options.
