2019 VAC-TRON CS 1273 GT Complaints and Recall Information

The 2019 VAC-TRON CS 1273 GT has 0 complaints and 6 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report issues related to exterior lighting and structural safety, as reflected in the recall data.

There are six recalls concerning various safety and visibility features. The defects involve exterior lighting components and rear impact protection systems.

  • Exterior lighting visibility. Front clearance lamps are improperly positioned and there is an insufficient amount of conspicuity tape on the sides and rear. Some trailers also lack side or rear reflex reflectors, reducing visibility in low light conditions. (NHTSA recall numbers 20V290000 and 20V289000 affecting 21 and 110 vehicles respectively.)
  • Rear impact protection. The rear most extremity extends too far beyond the trailer frame which reduces impact protection and increases risk of underride crashes in rear collisions. (Recalls 20V293000 and 20V292000 affecting from 21 to 110 vehicles.)

Recalls

  • Exterior lighting system. (Recall 20V290000) Affects 21 CS1273GT and related models. The front clearance lamps are improperly positioned and reflective tape application is insufficient. The defect makes the trailer less visible during low visibility conditions which raises crash risk. Remedy kits will be installed free of charge by Vermeer dealers. Owners are notified by Vac-Tron.
  • Exterior lighting system. (Recall 20V289000) Covers 110 CS1273GT and other Vac-Tron models. Similar issues with mispositioned front clearance lamps and inadequate conspicuity tape and reflectors apply. The risk and remedy details match 20V290000. Owners will be contacted for free repairs.
  • Rear impact bumper. (Recall 20V293000) Includes 21 CS1273GT and related trailers. The rear extremity extends beyond the frame reducing rear impact protection. This can allow a vehicle to underride the trailer, posing serious injury risk. Vac-Tron provides remedy kits at no charge through Vermeer dealers.
  • Rear structure. (Recall 20V293000) Identical to the above bumper defect affecting 21 vehicles. It violates FMVSS 224 standards on rear impact protection. Owners receive notifications and repairs at no cost.
  • Rear structure. (Recall 20V292000) Involves 110 CS1273GT and similar models. The rear extremity extends too far beyond the trailer frame, reducing crash protection and increasing underride risk. Repairs are supplied at no charge by Vac-Tron and installed by dealers.

Owners who have ongoing issues with safety defects or unresolved recall repairs should consult their state lemon law resources for potential assistance. Repeated repairs involving safety-related defects may affect their rights under applicable consumer protection laws.
