The 2008 TURTLE TOP TERRA TRANSPORT has 0 complaints and 5 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report issues related to adaptive mobility equipment and electrical components based on recall data.

There are five recalls affecting various systems including adaptive mobility equipment and the electrical system. These recalls address potential safety risks involving wheelchair lifts and air conditioning compressor mounts.

Recalls
  • Wheelchair lift roll stop latches. NHTSA recall 12V404000 affects 577 vehicles. The roll stop latches on outer barriers of certain 2006-2010 transit buses may become bent or misaligned with frequent use. This can allow a wheelchair occupant to defeat or ride over the latch, risking a fall if the lift platform is elevated. Repairs are performed free of charge by authorized Braun dealers.
  • Power distribution terminal strip. NHTSA recall 15V396000 affects 355 vehicles with GM chassis and 6.6L engines, including 2006-2012 and 2014 Terra Transport models. Improper reconnection of the power distribution terminal strip after compressor installation can cause arcing or overheating, increasing fire risk. Dealers will inspect and correct connections at no cost. Owners are not advised to avoid driving or parking outside during this recall.
  • Cracked wheelchair lift platform side plates. NHTSA recall 14V651000 affects 276 vehicles. Certain Ricon wheelchair lifts on 2008-2012 Terra Transport models may develop cracks in platform side plates. A cracked plate can separate the lift platform, causing it to fall out when doors open, risking injury. Supplemental support bumpers are installed or cracked platforms replaced free of charge at authorized service centers.
  • Folding link arm bearing displacement. NHTSA recall 16V009000 affects 276 vehicles. Some Ricon wheelchair lifts have folding link arms with oversized pivot holes allowing bearings to move out of position. This can cause excessive movement and failure of the platform mounting, potentially leading to the lift platform falling out when doors open. Inspections and replacement of damaged parts are conducted free of charge.

Owners dealing with repeated repairs or unresolved recall issues involving adaptive mobility or electrical system defects may have rights under their state’s lemon law. They should consider consulting qualified legal counsel to discuss potential claims.
