SUSPENSION:FRONT:CONTROL ARM:LOWER ARM

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2014 Toyota Camry, Camry HV, Avalon, and Avalon HV vehicles equipped with 16-inch and 17-inch rims. In the affected vehicles, the left-side front suspension lower arm may have been incorrectly manufactured. As a result, the left side lower arm may not have enough clamping surface area for one of the bolts that secures the lower arm to the lower ball joint.

Risk: Because of the insufficient clamping force, the lower arm may separate from the ball joint, increasing the risk of a crash.

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2014 Toyota Avalon, Camry, Sienna, and Highlander and model year 2015 Lexus RX350 vehicles. Fuel may leak from the one of the fuel delivery pipes in the engine compartment.

Risk: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.

The radio buttons as well as buttons on steering wheel are unresponsive. In addition the front bumper corner piece near the wheel keeps popping off of the car.

I own a 2014 Toyota Camry with 163,000 miles. For years, I’ve experienced a noticeable shudder and vibration around 40–50 mph, which I now understand is a common defect related to the torque converter and addressed in a Toyota-issued TSB (T-SB-0168-14). I was never notified of this bulletin, despite having my car serviced regularly. Toyota and its dealers consistently failed to inform me of this issue, and now that I’m just over the mileage cap, they are refusing to assist. I feel deceived and upsold on unnecessary repairs when a known, more affordable fix existed. This is an unethical practice and a known problem that needs further federal investigation.

While driving at speed over 45 mph or going up a steep hill car starts to shutdown and shudder causing a serious safety concern. I could have been killed. I understand this is related to oil consumption problem that toyota has failed to address in the 2014 model. What can be done? This is criminal!

AIR BAGS

The contact owns a 2014 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that his wife was driving the vehicle and was involved in a crash while stopped on a main road. A vehicle from behind crashed into the entire rear end of their vehicle at 30 MPH. No property damage was reported, and the vehicles came to a stop upon impact. The air bags were not deployed. The contact's vehicle did not have to be towed. No warning lights were illuminated. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not destroyed. The contact stated that his wife received a minor neck injury, and she was seated in the driver's seat since she was the only occupant in the vehicle. No injuries outside of the contact's vehicle were reported. No medical treatment was needed for the injury. The local dealer was not contacted, there fore the vehicle was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 83,000.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2014 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while attempting to register the vehicle, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 148,0000 and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 243,000.

ENGINE

My car is exhausting oil very rapidly. It’s burning oil from inside the engine. Started 2 months ago. I have never received ANY recalls on it.

There was no warning light illuminated. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact was informed that the VIN was not under recall. The contact referenced Technical Service Bulletin: SB-0034-14 as a possible cause for the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 147,600.

The contact owns a 2014 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle was shuddering significantly. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the torque converter had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact related the failure to Toyota Warranty Enhancement Program Number: ZE5; however, the dealer informed the contact that the repair could not be covered under the warranty because the warranty had expired. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

The contact owns a 2014 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle jerked before slamming into gear. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to CTT Transmissions, who diagnosed a failure with the torque converter. The vehicle was not repaired, and the failure became regular. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 124,000.
