Recalls
- Propane oven gas leak. NHTSA Recall 10V512000 affects 62 vehicles. A fracture in the gas line to the Atwood 35 Series range oven may cause propane leaks, risking fire or explosion. The remedy involves free replacement or repair of the stoves starting October 28, 2010.
- Exhaust pipe clearance. Recall 11V416000 covers 149 vehicles with exhaust pipes mounted too close to the floor, risking insulation melting and fire. Dealers will install a heat shield and insulating materials free of charge as of September 19, 2011.
- V-band clamp failure. Recalls 11V547000 (279 vehicles), 11V485000 (179 vehicles), and 12V048000 (13 vehicles) address fractures in T-bolts on clamps connecting exhaust system sections on Cummins diesel engines. Clamps may loosen causing hot exhaust gases to vent improperly and potentially start fires. Repairs are free at authorized Cummins dealers starting October 10, 2011, and later dates.
- Refrigerator high temperature sensor defect. Recall 11V082000 affects 10,683 vehicles with Norcold 1200-series refrigerators whose thermal switches or sensors fail to promptly cut power during overheating, increasing fire risk. Owners are instructed to contact Norcold dealers for free repairs beginning February 17, 2011.
- Brake pedal arm looseness. Recall 11V452000 involving 1,960 vehicles notes adjustable brake pedal arms may loosen and swing into the accelerator, reducing braking ability and increasing crash risk. Daimler Trucks performs repairs and notifications free of charge, with owner notifications dating back to 2009 and follow-up in 2011.
- LED clearance light short circuit. Recall 14V271000 affects 4,414 vehicles with Command Electronics LED clearance lights. Moisture intrusion can cause circuit shorts, increasing fire risk. Dealers install inline fuses on affected circuits at no cost starting July 31, 2014.
- Exhaust pipe repositioning. Recall 15V612000 addresses 140 vehicles with exhaust pipes too close to the floor despite prior repairs. Dealers will change exhaust configuration to increase clearance and reduce fire risk, free of charge starting December 1, 2015.
- Fire extinguisher malfunction. Recall 17V841000 involves 36,005 vehicles with Kidde fire extinguishers that may clog or require excessive force to discharge, risking injury in a fire situation. Owners are directed to contact Kidde for free replacement units starting February 5, 2018.
- Electric step bolt fracture. Recall 15V880000 affects 14,889 vehicles where bolts attaching fan gear assemblies to Coachstep electric steps may fracture, causing step instability and injury risk. Dealers replace linkages and add retainer brackets free of charge since February 10, 2016.
- Windshield wiper arm breakage. Recall 16V532000 covers 10,351 vehicles with wiper arms that may break, reducing driver visibility and increasing crash risk. Dealer replacement of wiper arms began August 19, 2016, at no cost to owners.

EQUIPMENT
Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc. (Tiffin) is recalling certain 2009-2018 Allegro and Allegro RED, Bus and Phaeton vehicles, 2009-2010 Bay vehicles, 2011-2018 Breeze vehicles, and 2009-2015, and 2017-2018 Zephyr vehicles. These motorhomes are equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers that may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf
Risk: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.

EQUIPMENT:RECREATIONAL VEHICLE/TRAILER
Tiffin Motorhomes (Tiffin) is recalling certain model year 2007-2015 motorhomes manufactured May 1, 2007, to December 31, 2014, equipped with certain Coachstep Double and Triple Electric Steps. The bolt that attaches the fan gear assembly to the steps may fracture allowing the fan gear to disengage from the steps. As a result, the steps may not remain in the expected position and may become unstable.
Risk: Unstable entry and exit steps increase the risk of injury.
2011 TIFFIN PHAETON
140 vehicles affected
ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:MANIFOLD/HEADER/MUFFLER/TAIL PIPE
Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc. (Tiffin) is recalling certain model year 2010-2012 Phaeton motorhomes built on Powerglide chassis with floor plans QBH, QKH, and QTH manufactured July 1, 2010, to August 1, 2011. The affected vehicles have an exhaust pipe that is mounted too close to the underside of the floor.
Risk: Insufficient spacing between the exhaust pipe and the floor may result in the insulation melting and an increased risk of a fire.

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
TIFFIN IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011, 2012, AND 2013 RECREATIONAL VEHICLES, MODELS PHAETON AND ZEPHYR, EQUIPPED WITH A CUMMINS ISB, ISC, ISL, OR ISX DIESEL ENGINE. THE V-BAND CLAMP ASSEMBLY, PART NUMBERS Q187684, Q187685, AND Q187686, USED TO CONNECT THE INLET AND OUTLET CONE SECTIONS TO THE DIESEL OXIDATION CATALYST (DOC)/DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER (DPF) INCLUDE A T-BOLT WHICH CAN FRACTURE AND FAIL WHEN SUBJECTED TO STRESS OR LOAD. A FRACTURE OR FAILURE OF THE T-BOLT MAY CAUSE THE CLAMP TO LOOSEN AND THE INLET OR OUTLET SECTIONS ATTACHED TO THE DOC/DPF HOUSING TO DISCONNECT.
Risk: IF THE INLET OR OUTLET SECTIONS DISCONNECT, HOT EXHAUST GASES CAN VENT PRIOR TO EXITING THE TAILPIPE, CREATING THE RISK OF COMBUSTION AND A FIRE. IF BOTH CLAMPS FAIL, THERE IS A RISK IN SOME APPLICATIONS THAT THE DOC/DPF HOUSING MAY DETACH COMPLETELY, CREATING A ROAD HAZARD.
