Incorrect hose routing causes rubbing on the starter motor stud, risking electrical arcing and fluid leaks that could cause a fire. Dealers will reroute the hose free of charge. The recall started December 27, 2016.
  • Power steering hose routing. Recall 18V285000 includes 895 vehicles. Similar to 17V283000 it involves power steering hose rubbing and potential fire risk. Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation dealers will reroute the hose at no cost. The remedy began May 1, 2018.
  • Front suspension sway bar. Recall 16V468000 affects 122 vehicles manufactured between September 2015 and January 2016. Front sway bar mounting bolts may bend or loosen causing detachment and compromised handling, increasing crash risk. Detroit Axle centers will modify mounting free of charge. The recall began July 22, 2016.
  • Fire extinguisher malfunction. Recall 17V758000 affects 110,400 RVs including the Venetian from 2003-2018 equipped with Kidde plastic-handle or push button extinguishers. Extinguishers may clog or require excessive force to activate; nozzles can detach causing injury or failure to operate during a fire. Owners will be directed to Kidde for free replacements. The recall started January 15, 2018.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING

Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2014-2017 Tuscany XTE (models 34ST, 36MQ, 40AX, 40BX, 40EX and 40GQ), 2013-2018 Tuscany (models 38SQ, 40DX, 40KQ, 40RX, 42GX, 42HQ, 42WX, 44MT 45AT and 45LT) and 2016-2020 Venetian (models A40, B42, F42, G36, J40, L40, M37, R40, S40, and T42) motorhomes. The rear reflectors within the taillight lens may be too high, reducing the vehicle's visibility. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Risk: The incorrectly positioned reflectors may make the motorhome less visible to others on the road, increasing the risk of a crash.

Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2011-2017 Thor Tuscany and Venetian motorhomes, built on Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) chassis. The power steering hose on the affected vehicles may be routed incorrectly, and, as a result, the hose may rub against the power stud on the starter motor, possibly causing electrical arcing and a power steering fluid leak.

Risk: Electrical arcing in the presence of leaking power steering fluid can increase the risk of a fire.

Thor Motor Coach (Thor) is recalling various 2003-2018 recreational vehicles, equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain model year 2016 Tuscany XTE, Palazzo, and 2016-2017 Venetian motorhomes manufactured September 9, 2015, to January 12, 2016. The front sway bar mounting brackets may not fit properly on the axle causing the mounting bolts to bend or loosen.

Risk: If the sway bar bolts loosen, the sway bar may detach from the axle, affecting the handling and increasing the risk of a crash.
