The 2021 THOR MOTOR COACH HURRICANE has 3 complaints and 17 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report issues with the floor above the catalytic converter becoming soft. They claim the heat from the catalytic converter causes this damage and note the absence of a heat shield. Some owners express concern about a fire hazard near the exit door.

Common Issues

  • Fire risk concern. The damaged floor near the exit door raises worries about potential fire hazards due to heat exposure from the catalytic converter.

Seventeen recalls affect the 2021 THOR MOTOR COACH HURRICANE involving various systems including structural components and electrical systems. These recalls address cabinet attachments and electronic circuit board vulnerabilities among other issues.

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:CATALYTIC CONVERTOR

The floor on my coach above the Catalytic converter has become soft. I am being told it is from the heat from the Catalytic converter. O called Thor and was told there should be a heat shield there campong world of Ashville says there is not a heat shield on it I have a picture no shield is present. I mistakenly told them something was cutoff during a recall I thought it was aa heat shield but it was something around the radiator. I have all service records nothing has been done around the Catalytic converter area. From other post on Thor forums this problems seems to exist in several of thor models. I have even read this could cause a fire and since it is at the exit door I would think they would take care of a problem that is probably less than $1000 to fix especially since their product is close to $200,000
