Recalls- Wheelchair lift roll stop latches. NHTSA recall 12V226000 and 12V225000 affect 990 vehicles with Braun Century-2 and Vista-2 wheelchair lifts. Defective roll stop latches may bend or misalign with frequent use, risking wheelchair occupants falling from elevated lifts. Repairs are performed free by authorized Braun dealers. No "Do Not Drive" advisory was issued.
- Roof hatch opening force. Recalls 12V296000 and 12V297000 cover 1475 vehicles with Specialty Manufacturing Inc. Prolo roof hatches. Increased friction causes excessive opening force exceeding FMVSS 217 standards, possibly hindering emergency egress and risking occupant injury. Free service kits and repair instructions are provided. No driving restrictions apply.
- Wheelchair lift folding link arms. Recall 15V565000 affects 4334 vehicles with Ricon model S2005 to S5510 wheelchair lifts. Oversized pivot holes allow bearings to shift, possibly causing platform mounting failure and the platform to fall out when doors open. Inspections and part replacements are conducted at no charge. No "Do Not Drive" advisory was given.
- Wheelchair lift folding link arms. Recall 15V564000 involves 52 transit buses with the same Ricon wheelchair lifts as above. Bearings can move out of position, leading to platform failure and increased injury risk. Dealers inspect and replace damaged parts free of charge. No parking or driving restrictions were issued.
Owners with repeated repairs related to these defects, unresolved recall issues, or other safety concerns may have rights under their state’s lemon law. Consulting an attorney familiar with lemon law claims is advisable for those facing ongoing problems.
