The 2006 THOMAS BUILT BUSES MINOTOUR has 0 complaints and 13 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report defects related to electrical systems, tire labeling, air conditioning units, and wheelchair lift equipment based on recall data.
There are 13 recalls affecting various systems including electrical wiring, tire certification labels, air conditioning units, wheelchair lift mechanisms, and fire extinguishers. These recalls address risks such as electrical shorts that may cause fires, incorrect tire inflation information leading to possible tire failures, and wheelchair lift malfunctions that increase injury risks.
Recalls- Electrical system cables. NHTSA Recalls 10V393000 and 10V394000 affect 4,193 vehicles. Main body power cables routed near a sharp edge may wear through insulation, causing a short circuit. The risk includes vehicle fire and occupant injury. Daimler Trucks will inspect, reroute, and replace cables as needed free of charge.
- Air conditioner fuse holders. Recalls 11V222000 and 11V223000 cover 6,895 vehicles. Fuse holders may loosen, causing high resistance and arcing that can melt components and cause fires. Owners will be notified to obtain retrofit kits and repair instructions. Repairs are free.
- Incorrect tire load labels. Recalls 11V201000, 11V202000, and 11V204000 affect a combined total of 6,921 vehicles. Incorrect labeling lists lower tire pressure than required, risking vehicle overloading and tire failure. Daimler Trucks will replace labels free or provide them for owner installation.
- Wheelchair lift link arms. Recalls 15V564000 and 15V565000 cover 4,386 vehicles. Pivot holes may be oversized allowing bearing displacement, causing excessive platform movement and potential platform detachment. Inspections and replacement of damaged parts will be performed free.
- Wheelchair lift wiring. Recalls 18V330000 and 18V301000 involve 1,694 vehicles. Missing relays in interlock wiring may allow the lift to operate when vehicle is in neutral or drive, risking injury if the vehicle moves. Dealers will inspect and correct wiring free of charge.
- Wheelchair lift parking brake override. Recall 19V170000 affects 410 vehicles. The lift can operate without the parking brake engaged after key-off, allowing vehicle movement and increasing injury risk. Modifications to the lift wiring harness will be made free of charge.
- Fire extinguisher defects. Recall 18V083000 impacts 606 vehicles. Kidde fire extinguishers may clog or require excessive force to activate, and nozzles may detach, risking injury and failed fire response. Replacements will be provided free by contacting Kidde.
Owners dealing with repeated repairs, safety defects, or unresolved recall issues related to these serious safety hazards may have rights under their state’s lemon law. Consulting with a legal expert on consumer rights could be beneficial in such cases.
