TEMSA GLOBAL (TEMSA) IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2007-2012 TS35 BUSES FOR FAILING TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 217, “BUS EMERGENCY EXITS AND WINDOW RETENTION AND RELEASE.” SOME OF THE EMERGENCY EXIT MECHANISM INSTRUCTION LABELS MAY HAVE BEEN INSTALLED FARTHER THAN 16 CM FROM THE RELEASE MECHANISM.

Risk: DUE TO THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS AND THE WINDOW’S RELEASE MECHANISM, IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY, PASSENGERS MAY NOT RECOGNIZE AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR RELEASING THE EMERGENCY EXIT WINDOWS DELAYING THEIR SAFE EXIT FROM THE BUS AND , INCREASING THE RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY.

Temsa Global is recalling certain model year 2007-2010 TS35 buses for failing to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release." The buses may have one too few emergency exits on each side of the bus for the number of seats that the bus is equipped with.

Risk: Passengers may be delayed in exiting the vehicle during an emergency which can increase the risk of personal injury.
