Recalls
  • Trailer hitches. NHTSA Recall 19V055000 affects 2,384 units. The forward attachment points for the pintle mounting assembly may crack, causing the assembly to detach from the trailer. This detachment can cause the trailer to separate from the tow vehicle, raising crash risk. Stoughton will repair and reinforce the mount points free of charge.
  • Frame and members. Recall 20V596000 covers 2,484 trailers. A rear pintle hook mounting assembly and rear suspension hangers welded to a channel suspension sub-frame may develop cracks. These cracks can cause the rear suspension hangers to break off, increasing crash hazards. Repairs include addressing fatigue cracks and adding reinforcements at no cost.
  • Suspension. Included in Recall 20V596000, the rear suspension may become detached due to sub-frame cracking. Stoughton will fix the issue with reinforcements and crack repairs free of charge.
  • Service brakes, air supply reservoir/tank. Recall 16V338000 affects 2,657 trailers manufactured from 2015 to 2017. Certain Bendix SR5 spring brake valves may be improperly machined, causing parking brake chamber failure. A failed parking brake chamber may allow the trailer to roll away when parked, posing crash or injury risk. Stoughton provides a remedy kit with installation instructions free of charge.
  • Service brakes, air supply check valve. Also part of Recall 16V338000, issues with improperly machined Bendix SR5 valves affect the air supply check valve, risking parking brake failure. The manufacturer will send free repair kits for affected trailers.
