Incorrect routing of the ground wire near the alternator may cause wire chafing and abrasion, potentially leading to a short circuit and fire risk. Motor Coach Industries (MCI) will reroute the wiring free of charge. Owners are notified by MCI. No Do Not Drive or Park Outside advisory.
- Lighting control unit overload. NHTSA recall 13V465000 affects 243 vehicles. An electrical overload in the lights’ control unit may cause short circuit or vehicle fire. MCI will replace the control unit free of charge. No Do Not Drive or Park Outside advisory. This recall began November 25, 2013.
- Rear axle lower control arm. NHTSA recall 13V327000 affects 3 vehicles. The bolted joint on the lower control arm could loosen due to changes in tightening method. This defect could reduce steering control, increasing crash risk. MCI will retorque the joint at no cost. No Do Not Drive or Park Outside advisory.
- Moisture in electrical diagnostic socket. NHTSA recall 13V190000 affects 234 vehicles. Moisture intrusion into the remote diagnostic electrical socket may cause corrosion and short circuit, with a fire risk. Setra will repair the socket free of charge. No Do Not Drive or Park Outside advisory.
- Battery equalizers and DC-DC converters. NHTSA recall 13V530000 affects 457 vehicles. Certain epoxy potting compounds in equalizers and converters may become electrically conductive when exposed to heat, increasing fire risk. MCI and Sure Power will replace affected units free of charge. No Do Not Drive or Park Outside advisory.
- Expanded electrical overload on lighting control units. NHTSA recall 14V369000 affects 306 vehicles. Similar issue to recall 13V465000 with electrical overload in lighting controls posing fire risk. Dealers will replace control units at no charge. No Do Not Drive or Park Outside advisory. This recall supersedes 13V465000 and expands affected population.
- Wheelchair lift threshold warning lighting. NHTSA recall 24V277000 affects 79 vehicles. The red beacon lighting on the Threshold Warning System (TWS) may be insufficiently bright, failing FMVSS 403 requirements, increasing injury risk to wheelchair lift users. Daimler Coaches will replace TWS kits at no cost. No Do Not Drive or Park Outside advisory.
