VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

I have had more than one failure, but this is the worst. The problem occurs, I believe, when RAM does an update to their uconnect system, something they do often and without warning. Strange and unexpected things happen when they do. In this instance, I had just started on a trip and was on the highway going about 65 mph. I had the cruise control on that brakes automatically when a something is in the way or you approach a slower car. Suddenly, the cruise control shut off and warning lights came on that the front collision system had failed, the anti-lock brakes had failed and more. Also the check engine light came on. I am not sure what all but it lit up the dash. I thought something terrible was happening and pulled over. Everything started working again after about a minute. None of these warnings were real. I checked somewhere, don't recall, and found it was at the same time an update occurred. There are false warnings and issues nearly every time an update happens while I'm driving. I only drive my vehicle about once a week, so something happens nearly every time I drive. This seems to me to be a serious safety issue. Were my anti-lock brakes really unavailable? People might panic or might just start ignoring real warnings. I have read in forums of other people complaining about this as well.

VISIBILITY/WIPER

I purchased a new 2024 Ram 2500 Laramie in January 2024. In February 2025, the vehicle began experiencing intermittent no-start conditions related to an electrical issue. Over several months, it also developed persistent Uconnect system malfunctions and power-folding side mirrors that would not unfold, creating a serious safety hazard. On July 2, 2025, while driving at highway speed, the driver’s side mirror folded inward on its own and remained loose, flopping in the wind, making it impossible to maintain visibility and lane awareness. Ram’s service department confirmed the part is defective but did not have it in stock when I brought the vehicle in. These issues have made the truck unsafe to drive. Despite multiple repair attempts and the vehicle being out of service for over 30 days cumulatively, the electrical and visibility-related problems remain unresolved. The manufacturer (Stellantis/Ram) has been slow to respond and has not provided a timely solution. I am pursuing Lemon Law arbitration, but the unresolved mirror visibility issue and electrical malfunctions pose an immediate safety concern that may affect other owners.

POWER TRAIN

Lifters are failing with 31,000 miles. There are thousands of these trucks with less than 30,000 miles on there second or third set of lifters. I took the truck to Allen Samuels Dodge in Aransas pass Texas for a loud rattling kept the truck several days couldn’t figure it out. I recorded a video of the banging inside the engine they kept the truck 5 days or so gave me a letter saying it’s under investigation and I should call Ram about the lifters. Called Ram they said call the dealer or take it to another dealer. Service guy was like yeah the lifters are failing left n right and locking up the engine. The grid heater bolt is burning off and falling into the number 6 piston on these trucks locking up the engine. I have numerous screen shots from several Ram 2500 groups where people are getting new engines just for it to fail in 3000 miles. I’ve got a 70k truck I’m afraid to drive worried it’s going to rattle apart and lock up the engine while driving down the highway. I can screen shot way more complaints. There’s even someone who started a data base in online forums to record complaints. The transmissions are failing in these 2018-2024 Ram 2500 6.7 Cummins and the gas version to. It’s ridiculous

TIRES

LT285/60R20 with 12,700 miles. I had just left the parking lot at the Cumberland YMCA and was merging into traffic on [XXX] westbound in Cumberland Md., accelerating to the speed limit (55MPH) when I began hearing a noise. I then saw a red warning light on the dashboard indicating 0 tire pressure on the left rear tire. Looking in the outside rear view mirror I could see the tire was flat and the truck was basically riding on the rim (thus the noise). To my knowledge I did not hit any debris or potholes. I had children in the back seat. Fortunately at the low speed no one was in danger. I need to replace the tire (actually I will replace all 4 as I have no trust in Firestone) so I don't know about the availability for inspection but I will take photos. The local police were called to help ensure personal safety while the spare tire was mounted. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

POWER TRAIN

When truck is in drive and I press the brake to shift to reverse, when I take my foot off the brake truck will go forward before reversing. Dealership says there is no problem with it. I find it to be dangerous.

SERVICE BRAKES

The brake pedal on my truck is very spongy. It goes halfway to the floor if it isn't pumped at least 2 times before braking. I find it very distressing in tight situations where I do not have time to pump before braking. I took it to the dealership and they say there is nothing wrong. This is a brand new truck.

TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS

The contact owns a 2024 Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the tire pressure warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact attempted to check the tire pressures using the feature in the vehicle; however, the system displayed the message "Tire Pressure not Available". The vehicle was taken to a dealer; however, the dealer could not assist with the repair of the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and initially agreed to buy the vehicle back; however, the manufacturer later decided not to complete the buy back. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 4,100.

The contact owns a 2024 Ram 2500 equipped with Firestone Tires, Tire Line: Firestone TransForce HT, Tire Size: LT275/70/R18, and DOT Number: VN15TH73023. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70-75 MPH and passing another vehicle in the fast lane, the rear driver's side tire experienced a blowout. The contact activated the hazard lights and was able to pull to the shoulder of the right side of the road while the rear of the vehicle was fishtailing. The contact stated that upon inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the tire blowout had caused damage to the undercarriage. Additionally, the tire tread had detached, hit and caused damage the rear driver's side of the vehicle and to fuel tank filler neck. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided assistance in towing the vehicle to an unknown Dodge dealer, who informed the contact that they could not performed the needed repairs, and the contact was advised to contact the insurance company for assistance. The insurance insurance company was contacted and arranged for the vehicle to be towed to Caliber Collision for repairs. The vehicle was not repaired. The tire was an original tire. The tire was not replaced. The tire manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The Tire failure mileage was approximately 24,681. The vehicle failure mileage was approximately 24,681.

SERVICE BRAKES

Brake pedal had 6"-8" of travel before pedal started to stop the vehicle. The brakes were bled 3 times and the truck still doesn't stop properly. I'm told it stops better than any other new truck on the lot. BIG SAFTEY ISSUE!!! I'm told it is what it is and drive it, I refuse to drive an unsafe vehicle with myself or my family in the vehicle! The brakes have felt funny for a while, the truck has less than 6000 miles on it and has been back 3 times for the same issue.

AIR BAGS

Hit a bump at approx. 55mph going into a curve while pulling a loaded car trailer. The unstable 4-link rear suspension combined with the air bag suspension system created/allowed/exacerbated trailer sway that caused the trailer to ultimately jack knife into a fence off the highway. This endangered myself and two oncoming cars in the curve. Driver skill and shear dumb luck prevented death to any/all on the road. Poor/unstable rear suspension engineering caused the accident. The air bags did not deploy and I do not recall the seatbelt locking up. Stellantis subcontracted Bosch Automotive Service Solutions (CASE # 91832257) to examine the truck. The inspector could find nothing out of "spec" or alignment, but was able to reproduce and experience like symptoms (and was visibly unsettled) during his test drive. Stellantis, not two days after receiving the Bosch report, denied all responsibility

ENGINE

While driving, the truck began to violently shake when downshifting. As I was exiting the highway and braking, the shaking intensified, and the truck stalled while I was traveling around 30 MPH, causing a complete power loss. To avoid a collision, I veered off the ramp and ended up scraping a road sign, which caused damage to the bed above the right fender, the road sign was intact and there was no damage to the sign. When I attempted to restart the truck and placed it in drive, it accelerated on its own. Applying the brakes only made it accelerate further, causing the truck to lunge forward uncontrollably. I managed to slow it down by putting it in neutral, regaining full brake control. I was able to get the truck to my driveway, but as soon as I turned into the driveway, it stalled again. I had to repeat this process to make it home as I didn't have cell service and was unable to call for a tow. This issue is extremely concerning, a complete power loss while driving, especially one that forces you off the road to avoid an accident, poses a grave safety hazard. My life and safety were jeopardized due to this malfunction.
