Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2019-2024 Ram 1500 vehicles. The driver's side air bag may not be connected properly, which can cause the air bag not to deploy as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

Risk: A driver's side air bag that does not deploy as intended increases the risk of injury in a crash.

Risk: Detached mirror glass can reduce driver visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

STRUCTURE:BODY:TAILGATE:HINGE AND ATTACHMENTS

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2019-2022 Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 pickup trucks. The tailgate may not latch properly due to misaligned tailgate strikers, which could result in the tailgate opening while driving.

Risk: An unintended tailgate opening while driving may result in a loss of unsecured cargo, possibly creating a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.

BACK OVER PREVENTION:DISPLAY FUNCTION

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Jeep Wrangler, RAM 1500 and 2021 Jeep Gladiator vehicles. A radio software error may prevent the rearview image from displaying. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Risk: A rearview camera that does not display an image reduces the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash.

AIR BAGS:SIDE/WINDOW:CURTAIN

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2015-2020 Ram 1500 Classic, 2015-2016 Ram 3500, and Ram 2500 vehicles, and 2016 Ram 3500 Cab Chassis with a gross vehicle weight rating less than 10,000 lbs. The side air bag inflatable curtain (SABIC) inflator end cap may detach from the inflator, or the inflator sidewall may rupture.

Risk: A separated inflator end cap or inflator rupture can allow compressed gas to escape, resulting in the end cap or other components being propelled into the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury or crash.

SEAT BELTS

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2019 Jeep Wrangler and Ram 2500, 2019-2020 Ram 1500 and 2020 Jeep Gladiator vehicles. In the event of a crash, a front seat belt retractor may not properly slow the occupant's forward movement after locking.

Risk: In the event of a crash, if the front seat belts fail to lock, there is an increased risk of injury.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:ACCELERATOR PEDAL

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Ram 1500 vehicles equipped with adjustable pedals. In certain accelerator pedal positions, the floormats may prevent the pedal from returning to the normal resting (idle) position.

Risk: A pedal that does not return as expected may affect the vehicle's deceleration, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.

VISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER:LINKAGES

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Ram 1500, 1500 Classic and Jeep Compass vehicles. The windshield wiper arm or arms may loosen, possibly causing the wipers to not operate properly and reduce the driver's visibility in certain weather conditions.

Risk: Reduced visibility increases the risk of a crash.

BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2020 Jeep Gladiator and Jeep Cherokee, 2019-2020 Ram 1500 Pickup, Ram 2500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Pickup, Chrysler Pacifica, Dodge Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Wrangler, and Jeep Renegade and 2019 Dodge Challenger vehicles equipped with 8.4" or 12" radio displays. A software error can cause the rearview camera image to remain displayed after the vehicle has been shifted out of reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rearview Mirrors."

Risk: The lingering rearview image can distract the driver, increasing the risk of a crash.

AIR BAGS

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2020 Ram Promaster vans and 1500 pickups. The affected vehicles may have an improperly crimped diffuser in the side curtain airbag which may result in the diffuser detaching from the inflator in the event of an air bag deployment.

Risk: In the event of a crash, if the diffuser detaches from the inflator during air bag deployment, the air bag may not inflate properly, increasing the risk of injury.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

The Engine Generator Kit - Mopar part# (68623194AB) failed which drained the battery and when I stopped at a red light it put me in park and I couldn’t get into gear to move the truck, a tractor trailer almost hit me while sitting in the roadway. If I order this part which is on back order for over a month I will be the 4,601 person this has happened to. I feel this is a recall safety concern. Thank you.

VISIBILITY/WIPER

I have had to replace the Driver's Side sun visor on my truck twice due to failure of the bracket holding the visor in place. The most recent time this happened was this month (August 2025). While I was entering the freeway in heavy traffic the visor fell down and was flopping in my face while I was traveling at approximately 70mph. I had the sun in my face, traffic beside me and had to use my left hand to catch the visor while avoiding a collision with a truck. The problem does not seem to be isolated to the Ram line of vehicles as we had the same problem with visor failure on my wife's 2023 Jeep Wagoner (vin [XXX] ). The bracket that holds the visor in place has a "push in tab/fitting" made of inferior material that is only about 1/8" thick and needs to be redesigned. I have attached photos of the failed part. On June 26, 2025 there was heavy thunderstorms throughout our area. I was driving to my office to pick up an item and all of a sudden my dashboard lit up with numerous error messages. I turned the truck off and could not get it to start again. I had to have it towed to the dealership and they cleaned some electrical connectors and returned it to me. My wife picked it up and on the drive home the windshield wipers went off and she also had numerous error messages on the dashboard so we returned it to the dealership. They replaced some modules as they found rust and returned the truck to me. When I went to the dealership to pick it up the truck would not start. They then said there was some corrosion in the star connectors and some moisture behind the radio. They replaced parts and returned it back to me. Since then I have had the truck back and had three more electrical issues with the vehicle. The service technician does not know what the error is and is having trouble pinpointing the problem. Its an electrical issue that they can't figure out. Tomorrow I am returning my truck for the sixth time for the same issue. I do not trust the truck to drive around and have not been able to use it for over 60 days.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

While refueling my 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie with the large (33 gal) fuel tank, the fuel pump "vacuum-assisted automatic shutoff" or "nozzle shutoff mechanism" is triggered dozens of times prior to the tank actually reaching a full level. I have been experiencing this issue consistently for the past year and it has occurred, to the same degree, at each of the fill-ups conducted at a variety of gas stations during this time. I've had an independent service center diagnose the issue and they recommended I take it to a dealer for service and also report the issue because this has been a common issue they have seen. Other Ram 1500 owners on internet forums also report having had this issue. The safety issue is that gas may become trapped in a fuel system component where it shouldn't be collecting which exposes vehicle occupants to an increased risk of fire in the event of an accident. Furthermore, this condition makes it nearly impossible to know when the fuel tank is full because the shutoff mechanism is triggered many times prior to full. This results in over-filling the tank and possibly having fuel remain in the filler neck, which also unnecessarily increases the risk to vehicle occupants to fire or explosion if involved in an accident. Vehicle owner manuals and gas station pump warning stickers typically warn operators of the dangers of over-filling or "topping off" fuel tanks specifically for this reason. With the system not operating correctly, the risk of overfilling is severe and unsafe.

ENGINE

The contact's mother owns a 2020 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the vehicle, and the on/off switch and battery low level warning lights were illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle to a nearby parking lot. The contact stated the engine seized while driving at 5 MPH. The contact stated that the failure was due to a failed motor generator unit. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a failed motor generator unit. The contact was informed that the motor generator unit needed to be replaced. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failur,e and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.

Failure of the Motor Generator Unit (MGU). This part is available for inspection and review. The failure of this component can result in complete immobilization of the vehicle which poses a significant safety risk for users and pedestrians alike. The problem has been a wide-spread issue for the Ram 1500 series. This issue was acknowledged by Ram and Stelantis. Ram has reviewed my MGU and confirmed that the component is faulty. The only warning was a whining noise and then the vehicle became completely incapacitated.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER

On multiple occasions while making a slow turn. My vehicle would shut off put itself in park and set the emergency brake. My truck does have the etorque and I see this is a known issue with etorques. I it happened a few times and I thought it was just a fluke but after my last incident I did some research and found out it is an issue.

ENGINE

I own a 2020 RAM 1500 Big Horn 4WD with the 5.7L HEMI eTorque system. The vehicle began making a whining noise while running. A certified diagnosis confirmed the failure of the engine generator unit, part number 68623194AB, which is required to keep the eTorque system functional. This part has been on nationwide backorder for an extended period with no estimated time of arrival from Mopar or the dealership. The vehicle is currently undriveable and unsafe, and I have not been given a timeline or support for alternative transportation. The unavailability of this critical hybrid powertrain component has made my vehicle unusable for weeks, and I’ve seen numerous reports from other RAM owners experiencing the same issue with no resolution. There is a serious risk to safety and reliability if this continues to be ignored. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this widespread part shortage and potential manufacturer defect. There should be a recall or mandated parts response for affected vehicles if the manufacturer cannot supply replacement components for a core electrical system.

Prior to the seatbelt locking, there were no indications that something was wrong. I believe not having a seatbelt that works properly puts myself or anyone else that would drive my vehicle at great risk if there was an accident.

My control knob is not responding to my truck and I cannot open doors or turn it on and it’s asking me for anti theft code all of a sudden. I took it to the dealer and they say alote of trucks are having the same problem. They say It could be the module reader. Now my truck is not reacting to nothing at all.

The contact stated that her small children were occupants of the vehicle during the failure. The contact was able to get the vehicle over to the shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The contact referenced a recall with a similar failure; however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 109,857.

Parts number 68623194AB, generator kit for alternator. This part went out on my Ram, Ram is backed up for months on this part. There are more than 10,000 vehicles with this problem. Im also being told that the product is not being produced at the moment, which puts my vehicle out of commission until the part arrives.

Ram issued a TSB 23-098-23 REV. A for the rear window leaking. Water has soaked the inside around the air bags all down the rear seats and floor. I’m concerned the issue could have damaged my air bags and the electrical in the vehicle. Vehicle rear window has been replaced in 2023. Still leaking water in around the rear airbags.

The contact stated that while driving 40 MPH, there was an abnormal sound coming from the radiator fan. Upon inspection, the contact noticed that coolant fluid had accumulated on the fender under the radiator. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the radiator seal had failed. The contact was advised that the radiator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

STEERING

Power steering light continually goes on and off. Took it to dealership and they said they’ve had many many new models of this Ram come in with the same problem. They quoted me for a gear rack saying it’s some kind of defect and the whole thing would need replaced (2,000$ +). I’ve looked through forums and countless drivers have reported the same issue. I’ve had this truck for just over 100,000 miles, with regular maintenance to every aspect of it. I don’t feel we should be responsible for a fault of the manufacturer. Please help!

AIR BAGS

The dashboard leather on my 2020 Ram Longhorn (VIN [XXX] ) has severely bubbled and separated from the underlying structure. The warping creates dangerous glare and distortion in the windshield, compromising forward visibility. Additionally, the deformation extends over the passenger side airbag panel, raising serious concerns about whether the airbag can deploy correctly. This is a well-documented defect on 2019–2020 Ram Longhorn dashboards due to adhesive failure, not wear and tear. ENGINE

Cracked exhaust manifold. I know of three people, besides myself, with the 2020 Ram with 5.7 literally Hemi that have had cracked exhaust manifold. Mopar has a technical service bulletin, but the cost to repair is on me.

Software issue with 12' display unit. The issues began occurring over the past several months. Sirius XM radio frequently searching for signal lasting for hours, and nothing else would play, not the radio nor the Pandora app with UCONNECT. The backup camera displayed on the screen when in D. Then, on 6/10/2025, the backup camera stopped working altogether. When shifted into R, 12' display shows a blue screen with "Camera System Unavailable." The camera control buttons are fixed in position. On 6/11/2025, the 12' display showed Sirius XM subscription update and left me with the Sirius preview screen even though I have a subscription. This lasted several hours. Upon, restart, Sirius shows loading again. Still no backup camera.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Investigation revealed, they use to fix the back siding window seal which cost $1300, but they replaced the Backlit at $25, now I'm on the hook for $1081.71 and change. $936.71, for the repair, $144.00 for the tow, the same spot it was towed from the first time it happen. Both times it had rained heavily. Filed a reimbursement case with FCA, Case#93175918, they have yet to get back to me.

When filling up the gas nozzle shut of and fuel will spill out. I have to listen for the fuel in the neck b4 it gets to top. It takes forever to fill.

Currently Ram has extended its warranty on the back break light due to a leaking/sealant issue on certain models and years. The truck also leaks through the window frame that crakes in these vehicle's. It seems that maybe this isn't being looked at as a safety concern and think it should be. Water leaking in due to this issue is now causing stagnant water. I have 2 kids that sit in the back of the truck and have been subject to breathing in the mold that has built up. I believe the result of mold growth is a great safety concern. I have seen this complaint all over the internet and even on the 5th generation website. I think a full investigation on this should be done immediately. It also seems Ram is aware of the issue because they no longer install this window. We have always had the issue but never understood why the truck had a bad smell to it. It took a very long time to finally realize the smell was coming through the back window and into the cabin but behind the seats. Exhaust manifold is ticking after only hitting 47k miles. Of course the warranty has been out for a month now. The dealership won’t cover it quoting me $3,200 to replace both of them.

FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP

The contact owns a 2020 Ram 1500. The contact stated that whenever the weather was below 50-degrees, after refueling the vehicle, the gasoline started spilling out of the fuel filler neck. The contact stated that refueling the fuel tank slowly prevented the gasoline from spilling out of the fuel filler neck. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer to be diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the fuel pump and gas tank were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

VISIBILITY/WIPER

The windshield wiper system is currently pumping wiper fluid but not on the windshield, instead it is somehow sending it to the passenger side of the front hood and draining directly on the ground. I took it to the dealer and was told several other vehicles came in with the exact same issue and was told it would be addressed but as of now it has not

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

There was a griding under the hood and may lights went out. The dealer said my ETORQUE/alternator needed to be replace. That was done approximately 4/10/25 under an extended MO PAR warranty. Since getting the truck back, it has stalled on me 3 separate times, all at red lights. Twice when the 'auto stop' was engaged and then the car lurched forward after the stall had occurred for about 2 seconds, the third time the 'auto stop' was off, and the stall occurred for about 4 seconds, the car rolled backwards even though it was in drive and then it lurched forward and went. Dealership can't replicate the issue so they are telling me can't fix anything. I am very worried that the car will stall on me at another light or on the highway and something very terrible will happen.

SUSPENSION

Spring of the driver side strut collapsed at 34,000 miles.

POWER TRAIN

Have a whirring, whining noise and at my Feb 2025 service, was told it was the e-torque assembly bearing and it was loose. Part is on back order for months since this is a common issue and will cost over $1400 for part alone. Was told not covered under warranty but believe that the dealership is wrong BUT am reading it was recalled in the 2021 RAM 1500 but I am having same issue with my 2020 and I am reading I am not alone.

ENGINE

Due to the recall Z96/NHTSA 22V-767 my fuel pump failed in 2023, causing my check engine light to come on due to a fuel injector warning. The dealership replaced the fuel pump, but nothing else was replaced or checked. In April 2025, my check engine light came back on for a #4 Glow Plug issue. The truck at this point had 56k miles on it, and was out of warranty. I took it to a local mechanic, who found the glow plug had shrapnel on it, causing it to fail. He believes it is due to the high pressure fuel pump failure the previous year, releasing debris into the fuel system. This is a safety issue due to the loss of engine power, and if multiple cylinders are affected could cause the vehicle to go limp.

So I am driving on the freeway 70mph and I get a message on my dash that says service shifter then every single light on the dash came on and started to make a beeping noise. I pulled over on the side of the freeway and then all the lights dissappear except check engine. I continued to drive to next exit and this time all lights came on again and truck appeared to be shutting off and turning back on while driving, steering wheel got hard to move all while all lights turning on, on dash. I have taken to shop 3 times first time they told me it was battery so I purchased battery and diagnostic fee for 600. Still continued to have issues even after replacing battery. Then they tell me they don't know what's causing this issue and the truck hasn't been fixed. I'll let the truck sit a few days and check engine light is gone and it will drive normal until the issues pops up again. I just don't know what to do about issue and have lost hope nobody seems to know what's causing thr issue. I have videos of this happening multiple times and I show to shops and they are just im awe and can't figure out what is happening. This happened to me yesterday 4/25/25 and while driving the truck started to show all lights on dash and immediately put itself into park while I was driving about 20 mph. Turned the truck off and started it back on again and got the service shifter message and drove home slowly and truck sat in driveway. I've taken in the truck multiple times and nobody seems to know what is causing the issue and I'm tired of spending money things they believe it to be. Any help would be greatly appreciated as we are starting to lose hope on this vehicle and are thinking about letting get repossessed as it's not useful to us if it can't be fixed

MGU failure leading to car battery being completely drained and unable to run until replaced. Started with bearing noise coming from MGU alternator. Then check engine light came on. Before long a low voltage alarm appeared and was able to safely pull over before truck died. Truck is now unable to be driven until replacement of MGU. Dealer has been unable to source part for over a month and could be at least another month before part is ready to come in. Issue appears to be pretty common on 5.7 L Hemi E-torque Ram 1500's as was told part on back order at this time for over 3,000 other customers

POWER TRAIN

The motor generator has effected the ess (engine start stop) system and at a stop it does not restart the vehicle when you let off the brake. It startes and then jumps forward creating a safety hazard if there is a vehicle in front of you or a pedestrian in the crosswalk. This is a concern that seems to happen with this system frequently through web searches that I have seen. My truck is at a dealer now to diagnose the problem with the system.

Truck was responding perfectly fine until we stop to watch a movie at the theater last night. After the movie I turn on the truck and notice my power steering was not working and everything else on my truck works fine.

Truck was responding perfectly fine until we stop to watch a movie at the theater last night. After the movie I turn on the truck and notice my power steering was not working and everything else on my truck works fine.

STRUCTURE:INTERIOR PANELS:SUN VISOR

The contact owns a 2020 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the driver's side sun visor was fractured, causing the sun visor to fell and obstruct the contact's view while driving. The contact stated that the driver's side sun visor had previously been replaced three times, and the passenger's side sun visor had been replaced four times; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the driver's side sun visor needed to be replaced again. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 41,000.

STRUCTURE:BODY

The Back Window By Factory Default. The model with One Big back window with mini Slide window in middle.Its been Verified By Authorized Mechanic and Autobody Shop.Have Documents but need Mopar or NHTSA help to fix this Safety issue.I now have water seeping into Cab.Ruining my Interior.Please help me

My truck is only at 50k miles, never off-roaded or abused, and maintained religiously by my personal mechanic. I was driving at 78 mph, and the steering locked up due to this issue. This created a hazardous scenario for me. The wheel released moments later, causing me to overcorrect and almost hit another car traveling on the highway in the adjacent lane. This has happened several times over the past week. I have adjusted my driving style until I can afford this VERY costly repair.

The Alternator Generator (MGU) failed and I was driving on the road when it happened causing the electronics to start going dark one after the other then dark screen and lost power steering. Thank God I was close to the side of the road and rolled out of traffic's way. The truck was towed to the mechanic who confirmed it is the MGU. The problem is that this part is on back order with no ETA. So I have a 2020 RAM Laramie with 39,000 miles only sitting in the shop. If this happened on the highway, an accident would have been guaranteed. I was simply lucky.

The contact owns a 2020 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the trim on the rear glass detached and failed to prevent water from entering inside the vehicle. The contact stated that there was water accumulating underneath the carpet, and there was mold on the carpet. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that recently the third brake light failed and allowed water inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was determined that the plastic trim had detached. The contact related the failure to TSB: 23-074-23. The repair was pending. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000.

VISIBILITY/WIPER

Drivers side visor broke at the support point and fell down obscuring drivers' vision while driving on the highway. Required holding visor up with one hand while pulling over. This situation has reoccurred several times while waiting for an appointment at the dealer. Broken plastic shaft is the cause. Upon inspection this is an under sized plastic shaft. Other sources report this is a common problem since 2019. It is a dangerous situation having your vision blocked while in traffic. Ram says it is an out of warranty, pay for the repair issue. Vehicle has 49500 miles. New visor looks like the old one.

ENGINE

Installed trailer brake assist. When we shut the truck off, the brake lights came on and stayed on. Assured by B&B trailer of St Augustine, Fl that it was an issue with the truck and not the part. Other issues have come up- dash lights also come on when turned off, backup camera, remote start, rear defrost, cig lighter plug, rear speakers, and A/C stopped working. Took it to Daytona Dodge on 1/29/25 where they diagnosed the ABS module had failed. They did a system reset and everything was ok until we had to disconnect the battery again- had to install a switch on the battery so lights staying on doesn’t kill the battery. Was told they’d let us know when a new part came in- mid February. Called Ram HQ on 2/17- case # [XXX] and that was no help. Referenced recall 85B and she said it was for a 2d row seating issue and said no ETA on new parts being made. My truck was mfg 2/2020 so how the software update recall doesn’t apply makes no sense. Would it have prevented this, who knows. Then called the dealer up and spoke to Stephen, a svc mgr, who recommended buying a used one ( he said aftermarket but I don’t think there is such a thing) and they would put it in. Got one from eBay and went on [XXX]. After I sat there all morning, I was told they couldn’t override the Vin that’s already on a used part. I have tried calling and emailing the service management team for follow up since then with no response. This is an abomination of customer care and needs attention. I’m hoping these parts are coming soon and that people like me are reimbursed and compensated for time lost and diagnostic fees and parts and labor. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Motor Generator Unit is making a whining noise, confirmed by the dealership that it's a bearing within the unit going bad. Per the dealer the MGU is on national indefinite backorder and from my research have been since at least January. If the MGU goes bad it shuts the vehicle down. Can be very dangerous if driving on a busy interstate or highway to suddenly lose power or possibly strand you on a road in bad weather. The backorder for this item seems to be a reoccuring issue.

The contact owns a 2020 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving with the cruise control feature enabled at 70 MPH, the contact noticed a loud banging sound. The contact noticed in the rearview mirror that large parts were flying from underneath the rear of the vehicle. The contact drove the vehicle to the shoulder of the road. The contact stated that the vehicle independently rolled backward. The contact activated the parking brake to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed drive shaft and damaged rear end. The contact was informed that the driveshaft and the rear of the vehicle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 62,400.

ETorque alternator failure. Driving down the freeway going 70MPH my truck went into complete shut down mode. Luckily I was in the right lane near an exit and was able to get out of a potential bad accident by breaking down on the freeway. Was told by the dealership and Mopar that this was not covered by any extended warranty and that this would be a $2000 fix with an unknown lead time as the part is on global backorder. I have been without a vehicle Since December 27th. was told 5000 of these parts were released on 2/17 but I would not be getting one of those. Still no line of sight to getting this part to fix my truck. Clearly based on this information and other posts this is a major issue with the ETorque Rams and a recall should be put in place and Mopar and Stellantis need to pay for this and fulfill these backorders ASAP. Being without a vehicle going on 2.5 months with no fix in sight is unacceptable.

FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE

I purchased a new Dodge Ram 1550 Big Horn in July of 2020. To date I have only 21,000 miles on this vehicle. In January of 2023, at the 12,555 mile mark, they had to install a new fuel delivery line and fuel tank because I was unable to fill the tank. This was due to the rollover valve molded into the top of the tank malfunctioning and sticking. 25 months and 9,000 more miles later, I am once again battling this same issue. Dodge states there is no recall on this item, yet there are thousands of online posts with people screaming "why is there no recall". This is costing us as consumers thousands of dollars in unrealistic repairs. I'm unsure if this is the correct venue to vent this, but can anyone help?

SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC

The E to alternator quit rear bearing bad was told that the part was on backorder. It’ll be 68 months for part to come in. We need to have a better description on what bearings they use for the alternator.

The contact stated while driving on the highway at 15 MPH, the vehicle experienced a loss of automotive power and the transmission unexpectedly downshifted from 4th to 1st gear. The contact stated that the "Shift to Park, and then Start" message was displayed. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle shut off and coasted to a stop. The contact parked the vehicle on the side of the highway to restart the vehicle and continued driving. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 140,000.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Every winter, since 2020 when I fill my gas tank with gas, the nozzle stops every time I squeeze the gas pump at the gas station. My tank will only take a couple gallons before the nozzle stops. I spend upwards of an hour at the gas station to just fill up my tank half way. Stellantis makes faulty gas tanks and has been for years. This faulty gas tanks forces customers to take their car into the shop and "forces" customers to purchase new gas tanks and fuel pumps. The gas tanks are faulty, they can cause harm due to faulty vent release. Vehicle has stalled twice while approaching stop signs, given me a “service start/stop system” light and makes a loud whining noise. These symptoms are caused by a faulty eTorque generator. The generator is on back order for nearly 5000 other customers experiencing issues with the eTorque system. It is extremely unreliable and will cause accidents if the generator breaks and stalls the truck while in motion. A recall should be issued ASAP and Stellantis should be pressured to fulfill the back orders for those experiencing faulty generators.

The contact owns a 2020 Ram 1500. The contact stated while operating the vehicle, the front driver’s side seat belt did not properly retract to secure the driver. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 48,000.

The contact owns a 2020 Ram 1500. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed a burning odor around the exterior of the vehicle. The contact performed an inspection and determined that the burning odor was coming from underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was started, and an error message was displayed, instructing the contact to take the vehicle to the dealer within the next 200 miles. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a fractured diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) system. The contact was informed that the DEF system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer for further additional diagnostic tests. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

My MGU (special name for alternator on Ram E-Torque) went bad. Starts out as grinding noise (no check engine light yet) then shortly after - total failure. Mine has total MGU failure with check engine light on and voltage warning lights to. I have a an appointment on Feb 12 2025 to replace it. They said it’s going to take about 45-90 days for a replacement part. When failure of this part happens the bearings go first, with a possibility of fire risk, in my opinion. Metal grinding on metal creates friction then fire-in my opinion. I researched and talked to some parts managers at ram dealerships. The MGU is a joke. Everyone of them will fail prematurely. Look into this please. There are 5000 MGU units supposedly being produced and shipped out across the country. Those are being shipped out very slowly when available. Nothing fast about these replacements. And lastly, apparently Ram has decided to not make the etorque available on the V8 engines anymore. Only the V6 engines have them.

When slowing down for a stop the transmission will shift into neutral and a warning will pop up on display “shift to park then desired gear” this is happing on my 2020 ram and my sons 2019 ram but the dealer says there is no fix. I checked online and it looks like it’s happening a lot.

This vehicle will not take gas at the pump. It shuts off after less than 1/2 galllon, even near empty. It will also backsplash at the pump.

While refueling the gas pump kept shutting off. The dealership replaced the filler neck and the fuel tank almost a year ago and now the issue came back and they are stating it is now the Evaporator Canister.

The DPF got so hot in a matter of a few miles (8 minutes driving) it blew a hole in it, and melted all the wiring under the truck, caused the engine to stop, automatically locking all the doors (thank God my child and husband had stopped and were out) before this happened.

As with previous recall issued 66A for 1500 trucks from 2014-2019, my vehicle is with the dealer for the same known issue for the 2020 model 3.0 ecodiesel for repair of the tone wheel and crankshaft sensor failure. Tone wheel and crankshaft sensor failed while on highway presenting same know safety risk as previous truck models.

STRUCTURE:BODY

Door Latch malfunctioning in cold weather. Will not open or stay shut until warmed up. Safety issue as door will not close and vehicle is not able to be driven.

As I was backing out of my drive way my power steering stopped working and has been hard to turn the wheel. I moved the steering wheel up and down and it started working again, and then the next day it went back to no longer working.

The contact owns a 2020 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 10 MPH and approaching a stop, the left turn signal failed to function as needed. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle made a loud sound as if the ABS had been activated. The contact stated that while attempting to use the turn signal to the left, the right turn signal was erroneously activated. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not repaired because the vehicle was not under recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

My screen is delaminating on a 4 year old vehicle. This should not be happening and was told by my local Dodge dealership that it is not covered under a warranty, nor my extended warranty or a recall. This is poor manufacturing. My vehicle does not sit in direct sunlight.

The vehicle exhaust gasket fails at 50,000 miles on the 2020 Ram pickup causing carbon monoxide to enter the cab when idling. This is very common on this particular truck. Ram has yet to issue a recall.
