AIR BAGS:SIDE/WINDOW:CURTAIN:INFLATOR

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2016-2019 Ram 3500, Ram 1500, 2016-2020 Ram 2500, and 2016 Ram 3500 Cab Chassis vehicles. The right and left side curtain air bag inflators may rupture due to a manufacturing defect.

Risk: An inflator rupture may result in sharp metal fragments striking occupants, resulting in injury.

Risk: A separated inflator end cap or inflator rupture can allow compressed gas to escape, resulting in the end cap or other components being propelled into the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury or crash.

Chrysler is also recalling all 2013-2014 and 2018 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks built before April 1, 2018 with a 6 or 8 foot bed and a power locking tailgate. On August 29, 2019 Chrysler expanded the recall to include an additional 693,128 model year 2013-2014 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks. The tailgate actuator limiter tab may fracture and cause the tailgate to unlatch and open while driving.

Risk: If the tailgate opens while the vehicle is being driven, cargo may fall out the vehicle and create a road hazard, increasing the risk of crash.

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:GAS RECIRCULATION VALVE (EGR VALVE)

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2019 Ram 1500 and 1500 Classic Pickup trucks equipped with 3.0L Eco Diesel engines. The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler may crack and allow pre-heated vaporized coolant to enter the EGR system. This mixture may combust inside the intake manifold.

Risk: Combustion in the intake manifold can increase the risk of a fire.

STRUCTURE:BODY:TAILGATE

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2015-2017 RAM 1500, 2500, and 3500 pickup trucks equipped with a power locking tailgate and either a 5 foot, 7 inch or 6 foot, 4 inch bed. The tailgate actuator limiter tab may fracture and cause the tailgate to unlatch and open while driving.

Risk: If the tailgate latch releases and the tailgate opens while driving, cargo may fall out, creating a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.

Risk: If the vehicle maintains its speed or accelerates despite attempts to deactivate the cruise control, there would be an increased risk of a crash.

POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:LEVER AND LINKAGE:COLUMN SHIFT

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2016-2017 Ram 3500 Cab Chassis with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of less than 10,000 lbs, 2011-2017 Ram 3500, 4500 and 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles, 2009-2017 Ram 1500 and 2010-2017 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks, all equipped with a column shifter. Pushing the brake pedal for prolonged periods when the vehicle is running and in PARK may cause the Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) pin to stick in the open position. With the pin in the open position, the transmission can be shifted out of PARK into any gear without pushing the brake pedal or having the key in the ignition.

Risk: Being able to shift the transmission without pushing the brake pedal and/or without a key in the ignition can increase the risk of an unintended vehicle rollaway that may result in personal injury or a crash.

AIR BAGS

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2013-2016 Ram 1500, Ram 2500, and 2014-2016 Ram 3500 vehicles. Certain driving conditions, such as driving off-road or debris striking the vehicle may cause the roll rate sensor to trigger a fault within the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC). If this fault occurs, the rollover side curtain air bag and the seat belt pretensioner will be disabled from deploying.

Risk: If the rollover side curtain air bags and seat belt pretensioners are disabled, there is an increased risk of injury to the vehicle occupants in the event of a crash that necessitates activation of these safety systems.

POWER TRAIN:DRIVELINE:DIFFERENTIAL UNIT

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2016-2017 Ram 1500 trucks. The differential pin retaining screw may come loose while driving, potentially causing the differential to break or lock up.

Risk: A broken or locked up differential may result in a loss of motive power and possibly a loss of vehicle control. Either scenario increases the risk of a crash.

STEERING:ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Ram 1500 trucks manufactured January 22, 2015, to September 13, 2015. Contamination on the Electric Power Steering (EPS) control circuit board may cause a short and result in the loss of power steering assist.

Risk: If the vehicle experiences a loss of power steering assist, extra steering effort will be required, especially at lower speeds, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

EQUIPMENT

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling aftermarket Mopar Canvas Seat Covers for certain 2012-2016 RAM 1500, 2500, and 3500 trucks. These Mopar canvas seat covers were sold through Chrysler dealerships beginning October 15, 2015. The seat covers can impede the deployment of the seat thorax airbags.

Risk: If the seat cover impedes the air bag deployment, the seat thorax air bags may not provide adequate protection in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of a injury.

POWER TRAIN:AXLE ASSEMBLY:AXLE SHAFT

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2016 RAM 1500 trucks manufactured February 19, 2016, to March 3, 2016. The front halfshafts may have been incorrectly manufactured causing them to fracture without warning.

Risk: A fractured halfshaft may damage underbody components and create road debris, increasing the risk of a crash.

POWER TRAIN:AXLE ASSEMBLY:AXLE SHAFT

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Ram 1500 trucks manufactured June 17, 2015, to September 28, 2015. The affected vehicles may have been built with rear axles that were incorrectly heat treated.

Risk: If the rear axle shaft was not properly heated treated, it may fracture and a wheel separation could occur, increasing the risk of a crash.

STEERING

There was no warning light until the steering will lock up and then the light will come on. Which is a life safety hazard because we went into on coming traffic because there was no steering ability. When we turn the truck off the steering will come back. But we lost control of the steering once again. Now the truck has no power steering at all. There is power to the system but continues to fail on the steering system because the light only comes on after the problem. This has happened to well maintained vehicle.. thanks in advance

FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL

The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while his son was driving at an undisclosed speed after the dealer had repaired the vehicle under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel), the vehicle stalled. The driver was unable to pull over to the side of the road. The vehicle failed to restart. The contact stated that the vehicle was nearly rear-ended several times while in the middle of traffic. The driver called 911, and a nearby Police Officer arrived and redirected traffic away from the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the driver was informed that the failure had occurred due to air intrusion into the fuel lines while the recall repair was being performed. The dealer informed the contact that the air was removed by turning off and restarting the vehicle several times. The dealer informed the contact's son that the vehicle was drivable. Additionally, the contact stated that there was an abnormally strong fuel odor coming from the vehicle. The contact stated that upon inspecting the vehicle while the vehicle was started, the contact noticed that the fuel line from the HPFP to the driver's side fuel injector rail was leaking. The contact stated that the undercarriage was soaking wet with fuel, and there was a puddle of fuel on the ground while the vehicle was idling. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the part had been ordered to repair the vehicle. The contact stated that the dealer failed to perform the recall repair correctly, causing more damage to the vehicle and creating a potential road safety hazard. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 99,964.

The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the ABS warning light illuminated. In addition, while driving at an undisclosed speed, several unknown warning lights illuminated. The messages, Service Electronic Braking system, Service ABS, Service Trailer Braking system, were displayed. The ABS light disengaged the electronic traction control, and the cruise control failed to operate as intended. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed, and it was determined that the ABS module failed to function as intended. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and complaint was filed. The failure mileage was 114,593.

Front suspension has completely bottomed out while the back is all the way raised making the truck sit awkwardly and drive extremely unstable and very roughly. You feel every bump on the road and hitting any kind of hole/bump will cause the truck to jerk. I definitely feel less safe driving this truck. Problem was identified by dealership and been an issue since I have owned it for 2+ years. Warning light has been on for most of the time I've had the vehicle included when I bought it and the dealership attempted to fix it.

STEERING

The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while his wife was driving approximately 65 MPH and driving over a bump in the road, the steering wheel seized while going around a corner. The driver was able to avoid a crash and moved over safely. There was an alarm activated inside the vehicle. The message to check the power steering was displayed. After waiting approximately 5-10 minutes, the message disappeared. The contact linked the failure NHTSA Action Number: RQ23003 (Steering). The contact called the local dealer and was provided with the cost for a diagnostic test and an estimate for the repair. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 148,000.

SERVICE BRAKES

The ABS module has failed on my 2016 RAM 1500, which has disabled the ABS and the traction control system. This is a serious safety hazard because the vehicle now has no anti-lock braking or stability control, creating dangerous conditions in wet or emergency braking situations. •Component/System Failed: The ABS control module has malfunctioned. The part is still installed on my truck because I need it in place to drive the vehicle to work, but it can be made available for inspection if required. •Safety Risk: The failure disables both ABS and traction control, greatly increasing the risk of loss of control and extended stopping distances in wet, slippery, or emergency conditions. This creates a direct safety risk to both myself and others on the road. •Dealer Confirmation: I contacted 4 Ram dealer who confirmed that no replacement parts have taken as long as 6 months to obtain and that they do not know when or if or when additional parts will become available. The fault has been verified with an ABS diagnostic fault code and I have confirmed this is a common failure as almost 500 parts are awaiting delivery in the US. The vehicle has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives, but the failure is documented. •Warning Lights/Symptoms: The ABS warning lamp, traction control light, and brake system light are all illuminated on the dashboard. These first appeared at the time of the failure and remain constantly lit. The OEM (Stellantis/FCA) is not offering a new replacement ABS module. Multiple rebuild companies have told me they cannot repair this unit because the required electronic parts are unavailable. This situation leaves owners without a safe or affordable path to restore critical safety systems. Despite being a known issue, there is no recall or service campaign from the manufacturer. SERVICE BRAKES

I own a 2016 RAM 1500 Tradesman (VIN: [XXX] ). My vehicle requires a replacement for the ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) module. This is a critical safety component directly tied to braking and safe vehicle operation. The problem is that Stellantis (RAM) is not producing or supplying new replacement ABS modules, and my dealer has informed me that there are currently over 390 modules on backorder nationwide with no estimated date of availability. This situation effectively makes my truck unsafe and unrepairable. I am being forced into an impossible position: either continue driving without a functioning ABS (a major safety risk), park the truck indefinitely, or purchase another vehicle. I believe Stellantis should be required to provide a remedy by manufacturing replacement ABS modules or providing a safe alternative repair. STEERING

About a week ago I was headed to work and I noticed that the steering was HARD (no grinding or otherwise noticeable noises), like trying to lift bricks every time you make a slight turn. Obviously a pwoer steering issue (I think!)... After a few minutes though it went back to normal. After three days it came back. Today its 95 degrees outside, circuit board inside the eps couldn't take the heat so it completely stopped working

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

the connecter under Power Distribution Center has melted and has made it so that the blower motor turns on and off at random. This is going to cause a fire if not fix. There is alot of other people online saying they have the same issue and even showing photos of the connecter. if needed i will send a photo of my connecter.

Front gas tank strap is detached from frame and fuel tank is hanging down ready to fall out on road. There is a recall for this condition on the 2009-2012 models but the same condition exists on the 2016. Strap pulled through the corroded bracket welded to the truck frame. Dealer says it is not covered under the recall. Pictures in recall U04 NHTSA 18V-160 look just like my truck so I didn't attach any.

My truck has experienced the same failure pattern, with coolant leaks, overheating, and unsafe breakdowns. On [XXX], the vehicle shut off in the middle of the road while I was driving, creating a serious hazard. The cause was traced to a covered emissions component. This was not an isolated incident. The vehicle has been in dealerships for over 60 cumulative days since January 2025, mostly for repeated EGR codes and fuel system issues, but the root problem has never been properly repaired. On [XXX], the low-pressure fuel pump failed after it had already been replaced. The premature failure left me stranded and required a $500 tow. This failure also presented a risk of sudden power loss in traffic. Despite repeated visits to authorized dealers, repairs are incomplete or improperly billed, including installation of non-OEM parts that failed again. The repeated stalling, coolant leaks, overheating, and sudden no-start conditions show that this truck remains unsafe to operate on public roads. I am reporting this as a safety defect because the emissions system failures and improper repairs have caused the vehicle to shut off while driving and continue to present a risk of fire, engine damage, and sudden loss of power. The dealership was able to repair the problem by replacing the steering rack and two associated wiring harnesses. Air suspension failed while driving on interstate and nearly caused total loss of control of the vehicle. Truck violently bounces due to failure in air suspension system.

The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving 25 MPH, the message "Check Brakes" was displayed, and the ABS and traction control warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed, and the dealer determined that the ABS module needed to be replaced; however, the part had not been available for eight months. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

Re-contacted the dealership in March 2024 and was advised it would not be until after June or July. The Part became available sometime after August 2024. However, due to the backlog of vehicles the dealership had to repair, none were available clear into 2025. As I understand, this is a widespread problem that has affected 10’s to 100’s of thousands of vehicles. Part numbers 68295368AA & 68295368AB with the redesigned part being 68295368AC. I also understand that this part has failed on the Durango, Charger, and Challenger vehicles as well.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING

I was involved in a crash that resulted in a fatality on [XXX]. My truck was towed to Five Star Collision Center in Hurst, TX. The repairs were made to the body of my truck. I have spoke with my mechanic and countless others along with representatives of Mopar/Chrysler and this ABS Control Module has been on back order know for 2 years that I know of. From research I have done the part has been on back order longer than that. In my research I have also found that Mopar/Chrysler does not seem to be manufacturing this part anymore. This issue is effecting 100s if not 1000s of people who have spent a lot of money on these pickups and Mopar/Chrysler could seem to care less about it. 2 years of being on back order is absolutely ridicuous.

ABS Module is failing preventing other systems to work properly (cruise control). This part has been on order since February. The service technician said there are people who have been waiting on this part for over a year and a half. Looking on line this is a problem of enormous proportions on multiple model years. If this part is not available to make this repair, it leaves us with a dangerous braking problem which can effect multiple other functions of our vehicles. If Stellantis knows this part is such a needed safety module, what can be done so owners can have their vehicles repaired?

2016 RAM Ecodiesel in shop with crankshaft position sensor error. Vehicle available for inspection at Sarasota RAM. Vehicle shut down on highway. Restarted but only would operate in limp mode which enabled me to drive to dealer. Warning lights indicated crankshaft position sensor issue. I had W58 recall performed but not selected for W68 fix. I spoke to Phil (844-378-0573 Ext: 4060587) at RAM customer care, who stated "Our primary focus is your satisfaction" (customer care case #[XXX]). This problem is very evident by the many 1500 drivers complaints. Action to reimburse me for the repairs is required. My ABS light, Brake light and traction control light come on intermittently. Had it tested and they say that the ABS Module has internal failure. It came up with warning code C2200-49 when tested.

The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that whenever the vehicle was started, the ABS warning light remained illuminated. The contact stated that the ABS warning light was constantly illuminated and while the ABS light was illuminated, the cruise control was inoperable. The contact stated that the part was no longer being manufactured. The contact provided the ABS module part number as, PN: 68295368AA. Additionally, whenever the parking brake was set, the parking brake stayed on constantly. The contact stated that the regular braking system was operational while the vehicle was driven and worked as needed; however, the ABS was no longer available while driving and posed a grave safety risk in the event that the vehicle needed to make an abrupt stop. The contact stated that several Parts Stores and Mopar dealers were contacted; however, the contact was informed that the part was no longer being manufactured. The local Auto Zone also checked the vehicle and confirmed the ABS failure. The local dealer also diagnosed the vehicle with ABS failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

ENGINE

In September 2016 I purchased a new RAM 1500 echo diesel. On [XXX], I driving along [XXX] in southern Indiana. I lost all power, smoke started coming thru the dash vents, I get off the road, shut the engine off, raise the hood, a little smoke was coming from under the engine cover, popped it off didn't really see anything burning, I opened the air filter lid and and there was smoke, I blew the smoke out of it and replaced it. I got back in the truck, it started but still had no power. It idled fine. I called and towed it to John Jones Auto Group in Corydon, IN, this was all on [XXX]. I was contacted 30 June 2025 that the Intake Manifold had failed and needed to be replaced. I gave them the go ahead to replace it. They called me and told me it was ready. the following week and told the Intake Manifold failed and needed to be replaced. I gave them go ahead to repair it. They told me the Intake manifold replaced and ready for pick-up. When I went to pick it up, on 22 July 2025. The Tech showed me the intake manifold; it looked like it had melted. He also said the water pump was leaking and should be replaced. I paid for the repair for the intake manifold, left the truck and drove my car home, intending to have someone run me there and I would drive the RAM home. After thinking about a day or 2 I called John Johns and told them to go ahead and replace the water pump and took the key back to them. I didn't want it to fail when I was least expecting it. AT this point I've spent $4,750.20. They called I went and picked the truck up on 23 Jul 25, drove it home (20 miles) on [XXX] I just pulled out of my driveway, check the rearview mirror and saw all this white smoke coming out of the exhaust. I pulled over smelled the fumes it wasn’t diesel fumes, but it smell sweet. I turned around took the RAM back home and drove my car to work. I call John Jones Auto. The contact pulled over to the side of the road, and the brake pedal pulsated while being depressed. The ABS warning light illuminated, along with several other warning lights. The contact turned off the vehicle and opened the doors. After waiting for several minutes, the vehicle was restarted, and the instrument cluster was cleared. The contact stated that on another occasion, while starting the vehicle, the warning lights illuminated, and several alarms sounded. The contact opened the doors and turned off the vehicle. After several minutes, the vehicle was able to be restarted. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the ABS module had failed. The contact stated that the ABS module had failed three times. The contact pulled the ABS module, and the ABS module was taken to a mechanic and rebuilt. After the ABS module was installed, the vehicle functioned as intended. The contact stated that recently, the ABS module failed again. The vehicle was diagnosed, and it was determined that the computer board inside the module had short-circuited. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000.

The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH, the vehicle lost power steering functionality. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving; however, the vehicle vibrated abnormally. The contact attempted to veer to the right or left, and the vehicle became difficult to maneuver. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the steering unit had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. Upon further investigation, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V167000 (STEERING); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the recall had expired. The vehicle remained at the residence unrepaired. The approximate failure mileage was 194,000.

the air suspension failed and truck was sitting right on the frame making for hard steering and really bouncing when hitting bumps. the ABS light came on and warnings about air suspension. have had it worked on but problems keep returning. this time it wont go back to normal

This truck was bought in 2023 with dealership not disclosing all of the failures in the vehicle. It is at a local shop requiring $16,000 worth of engine repair and we are demanding from Dodge to have help with repairs. We had and have a record of regular maintenance completed on this vehicle and is in immaculate condition.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Fuel level sensor failed. Truck will randomly display false fuel levels. This causes the fuel level to be unknown leading the potential of running out gas and being stranded. Dealer says fuel pump needs replaced and is in the process of doing so. Dealer also stated this is a common issue on the Ram trucks.

STEERING

I drove through standing water in a parking lot and a few minutes later the steering got funny.the next day it was no power steering, then the steering completely locked up could not turn steering wheel at all.

SERVICE BRAKES

Abs internal system failure. Abs light illuminated, traction control light illuminated, parking brake light illuminated at all times. Is available for inspection. Do not have abs system currently working and is faulty. Spongy braking and am at risk for brake failure at any time. Especially during slick road conditions. It has been confirmed with independent service center and has been inspected by them. No problems prior to the illumination of lights and system failure which occurred June 4th 2025.

I believe my truck should be included in recall s19/nhtsa 16v 167: I turned on my truck , and the EPS warning light came on. The truck lost all power steering. The next day it worked. Then after idling in a parking lot, I tried to drive and the column had a shake. Then the power steering went completely out

Truck EPS failed while driving creating a dangerous situation but turck falls outside of NHTSA 16V-167 recall.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

I presently have 92,200 miles on my Doge Ram. I have experienced 3 fuel pump/fuel sender failures. The first at 18,947 miles, second at 43,634 miles and third at 92,263.This last fuel pump replacement will have the defective pump available for inspection after the repair work is done. The failure of a fuel pump/sender could lead to stalling, power loss and failure to start. These deficiencies could lead to traffic accidents resulting in property loss and bodily harm or even death. The warnings persisted until I had the parts replaced. Because of the number of times (3)and the low mileage , 18k,43k and 92k miles, it appears that the fuel pumps used in this model of Dodge Ram are either defective or inadequately engineered. These failures were preceded by and check engine warning light followed by a fuel sensor failure light and fuel gauge malfunction.

The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The contact was able to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway, where the failure persisted. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the crankshaft position sensor tone wheel. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V411000 (Engine and Engine Cooling), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 56,000.

SERVICE BRAKES

Per the dealer the ABS module failed, affecting the antilock brakes, traction control, trailer braking. Component failures causes erratic braking. The vehicle is now subject to longer stops in wet/slippery conditions. The dealer has diagnosed the problem. Chrysler/Ram do not have the ABS modules and they are on national back order. There is no known delivery date. Multiple lights are on in the vehicle. Vehicle has been at the dealer for more than 2 weeks now. The problem was diagnosed July 1, 2025. The needed part couldn't be sourced by the dealer.

Power steering assist quit working while driving. It appears to be an electrical problem because it works when restarting engine before it goes out again. There are no apparent mechanical issues with it.

The ABS warning light has appeared and the dealership inspected the vehicle and stated the ABS needs to be replaced. Research shows multiple RAM 1500 trucks from 2016-2019 have had a recall on this system, but as far as I know, no recall was issued on mine. I do not know where to look to view all recalls that were issued on a particular vehicle.

In January 2025, the “Check ABS” warning light illuminated in my 2016 RAM 1500 Laramie. I promptly brought the vehicle to the dealership where it was purchased. Upon inspection, I was informed that the required part for repairs was on back order. I was assured that I would receive an update from the dealership in March 2025 regarding the status of the part, but I did not receive any communication. On June 20, 2025, I contacted the dealership for an update and was informed that the part remains on back order and is no longer being manufactured. However, no solutions or alternative options were provided to address this issue. A representative from the Service Department stated they would escalate the matter to the Parts Manager, but no further plan or resolution was discussed. Given that the vehicle ABS is a key safety feature, I am very concerned that a necessary safety component is unavailable.

The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the contact became aware of a part hanging down underneath the vehicle. The contact inspected underneath the vehicle and became aware that the fuel tank strap was corroded and had detached. In addition, the fuel tank was partially detached. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,400.

The steering is difficult as though the power steering is gone at low speeds. My battery died and after disconnecting it and replacing the battery, the power steering was fine for a few days. It then went back to not working and hasn’t worked since. Steering the truck around turns through a city is difficult when power steering isn’t available. No warning lights or check engine lights have been illuminated.

The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed, and the contact was advised that the air filter was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, months later the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started, there was a misfire coming from the engine. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed and the contact was advised that the EGR cooler assembly, intake manifold, NOX sensor, and the exhaust particulate sensor were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage 107,000.

Due to low oil pressure vehicle engine seized while driving on freeway. After having it towed to local dealer, I was quoted $19,000 to replace the engine because it could not be repaired.

About 2 months ago, the power steering assist stopped working and has been intermittent since. As I drove it to the dealership, I splashed into a puddle and the power steering returned. The dealership ran a check and found the code C2128 but said they could not replicate the problem. They found the PSA module cover was rusty. They wanted to charge $3,500 to replace the module as well as $2,300 to repair both front struts. I took my truck back (power steering inoperable) and researched parts, repair shops and recalls. There is a recall for PSA failure of the year of my vehicle though my truck is not included. I seem to have all the same issues as reported in the NHTSA recall. The power steering is presently still intermittent (wet weather seems to effect it) and feels generally unsafe as it fails and returns without warning. No other symptoms or indications before, during or after failure(s).

This failure has resulted in the deactivation of several critical safety systems, including: Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) Traction Control System Cruise Control Electronic Stability Control (ESC) Consequences of Failure: The complete shutdown of these safety systems, particularly the ABS, poses a significant and immediate safety risk. Without a functional ABS, the vehicle's braking performance is severely compromised, increasing the likelihood of wheel lock-up during sudden braking and significantly elevating the risk of an accident or complete brake failure, especially under adverse road conditions. Dealer Response & Lack of Resolution: I contacted an authorized Ram dealership to address this critical issue. Unfortunately, the dealership informed me that they currently have no replacement parts for the ABS module and have received no guidance or support from Chrysler (Stellantis) regarding a resolution. This lack of parts and technical support leaves me with a vehicle that is, in my opinion, unsafe to operate and susceptible to an accident due to a known, unaddressed safety defect. Request for Action: I am submitting this complaint to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to report this serious safety defect. I urge the NHTSA to investigate this widespread issue and compel Ram/Chrysler to provide an immediate remedy for this ABS module failure, including the availability of necessary replacement parts and a clear repair protocol. The current situation leaves me with a vehicle that has compromised safety features, putting lives at risk.

Ever since I have owned the vehicle, the gas station fill nozzle randomly gets stuck when trying to fill the vehicle. I tried taking it to the dealer years back, but was told there was no fix. I have a 2016 Ram 1500 with unrepairable brake problems. My ABS system went out in November 2024 and was told that I need a new control module to make repairs. the problem is there are no module in the United States. They need to come from a foreign country and that they need to be inspected. This was to be completed by January 15, 2025. I am still unable to get the repairs. Under Pa. inspection I will need the repairs. They are now saying some time by the end of April it may be available. This sound similar to the recalls to the 2017 Ram 2500 where there is a problem with the ABS System. This is putting me and my family at risk, but I need a vehicle. The contact attempted to turn the steering wheel and heard an abnormal buzzing sound. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the electric power steering assist had failed and needed to be replaced. The mechanic informed the contact that there was a recall related to the failure, NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V167000 (Steering). The contact had called a dealer but was informed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The contact called the manufacturer, and it was confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 177,000.

The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle started shaking abnormally. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and was informed by a mechanic that the front passenger’s side wheel lug nuts and bolts were loosened and had detached. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was determined that the lug nuts were missing. The dealer stated that the wheel, lug nuts, bolts, and hub needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that on March 19th, 2025, the failure reoccurred while driving approximately 75 MPH. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road and became aware that the lug nuts had either sheared off or had detached from the vehicle. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to another dealer, who replaced three lug bolts and lug nuts. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 178,080.

The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact became aware of an oil leak underneath the vehicle that smelled like coolant. While merging into oncoming traffic, the vehicle failed to accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact released the accelerator pedal and coasted to the side of the road, and slowly depressed the accelerator and drove to a nearby parking lot. The contact purchased oil and topped off the engine oil. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic who diagnosed that the coolant line was leaking coolant and could cause coolant to mix with the engine oil. The mechanic stated there was a code that the oil pressure sensor had failed. The mechanic informed the contact that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V496000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) and referred the contact to the manufacturer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The manufacturer filed a complaint and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. At times it's all I can do to steer it . I first ran my Vin for recalls and it showed None. I've reported it to the FCA and questioned them as to why my 2016 Ram was not included in this recall when it's clearly doing everything that it says in the recall, The ladies response when I asked if I was going to have to be in an accident and get injured or killed, was that she wasn't saying that in so many words but yes . I want something done about this because I shouldn't have to pay for a repair that is clearly in a recall for the 2016 year Ram 1500 which is what mine is. They are welcomed to look at my truck anytime and I'm going to have it taken to the dealership so I can have documentation of the problem .

Now the dodge dealership tells me the ABS BRAKE CONTROL MUDULE is under engineering review and can't be replaced because it's on back order. So for my safety I've parked it and bought a chevy . The electric power steering system failed while I was driving. I was travelling at approximately 20mph the first time it stopped working and had just finished a turn onto a residential street. The dash said "service power steering" and the check engine light came on. I pulled the vehicle over, turned it off, then turned it on again and the power steering started working again but the check engine light was still on. Later that day, the check engine light turned itself off. I was driving on the freeway later that day and lost the power steering again travelling approximately 55mph. The vehicle became nearly impossible to steer and put myself and others on the road around me at risk due to the speed I was travelling and lack of control I had when the steering went out. Fortunately I was able to pull over and restart the vehicle and regain power steering to get my vehicle home. I have not taken the vehicle to a dealer yet.

The brakes stopped working on September of 2024. I had to slam the emergency brake pedal to come to a stop. I slid into a ditch which caused autobody damage. A mechanic told me the ABS no longer works on my truck. He gave me this code: C2200. He said it defines the ABS module has failed. He said Mopar currently had no ABS modules in stock because they are constantly being replaced. I cannot drive the truck until the ABS module gets replaced.

Additionally, the contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed in the snow, the ABS and the traction control were inoperable, causing the vehicle to slide. The contact had stopped driving the vehicle due to safety concerns. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed. The manufacturer informed the contact that the part would be manufactured after several part requests were received. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000.

The ABS module on my truck has been broken for over 9 months and RAM still can't provide a part. A search on the internet shows that this is a very common problem with RAM trucks and a lot of people are waiting on this part. Each time I have called to order the part, my local dealer has told me that they have had several calls about this and that they can't order the part because the system says it's under "engineering review" and that RAM says it will be ready next month. Well, I've heard this for 9 months now. Today, I was driving in the snow and had to brake hard and couldn't stop sliding because I don't have ABS brakes. Also, this has caused issues while pulling a trailer several times. I've turned this into RAM and NHTSA and have had no response. I really am trying to be patient with this, but this has gone on too long. If I have a wreck or someone in my family is hurt because of the unavailability of this part, I want something on record showing that I've addressed this several times.

The abs module has gone out and there's a nationwide hold on the part. The date keeps getting extended on release which tells me you all know there is a problem. Our truck has been sitting for months due to the issue but we are still expected to pay for something we can't even drive. Something needs to be done to correct this problem because there are lots of vehicles with the same issue which is very concerning seeing as how this is a safety feature.

STEERING

While driving almost complete loss of steering. Very hard to turn. After a battery reset, it corrected, but very short lived. I was able to get the vehicle home, but has been undriveable since. Now there is absolutely no steering at all, the rack and pinion is completely locked. The only warning light is the "service power steering" light on the dash, no codes in the computer. Through research, I found that there is a known issue with the computer board on the rack and pinion which is known to cause this problem. The only solution is to replace the rack and pinion with a new one. There is already a recall for vehicles that predate mine, but mine is not included. I have just ordered a new rack and pinion and am having it replaced, but there is a significant core charge, so I will not be keeping the old one.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

The recall for high pressure pump came out in July of 2022. To this day there is no fix. They just put back in the same defective high pressure pump and it breaks down again leaving you stranded. Mine has been fixed twice since the recall. That is on average every 18 months.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Issue with the relay controlling the fuel pump located in the fuel tank(lift pump) When the relay stop working, the engine cannot be started or don't supply fuel to the High pressure fuel pump (HPFP) forcing to stop on the road. Could lead seriously to an unsafe situation like the HPFP can do. This issue can be reproduce easily by the dealer. No DTC or check engine ON for this type of issue. The dealer fix it yesterday and the damage was under the TIPM (Total integrated Power Module) The wires connectors under the relay were melted by overheat. This issue lead to an OFF and ON electrical contact between the fuel pump and the relay. This issue is largely documented over internet and can be fix for under 200$ usd with an external relay. But the first FCA option is to replace the TIPM board for 1200$ usd. Actually no recall for this major issue present in many FCA models since many years. The first time this issue happend was december 20, 2024. The date of repair is february, 12 2025. Between those two dates, I got the crank nostart problem many times.

I have been waiting 6 or more months for an ABS control module (part # 68295368AC) for my 2016 Ram 1500 (vin [XXX]). I cannot locate a new one at any dealer I have called as they all say the part is back ordered and they have no idea when it will be available. It seems to me that if the part has been unavailable for over six months then many trucks are having the same problem which would indicate faulty manufacturing and thus should be recalled. Driving this vehicle with this module not functioning properly disables the traction control as well as the ABS but I am forced to drive it as I have no other vehicle that I can drive while this one sits in the driveway waiting for a part that no one knows when it will be available. I hope you are able to help me convince Mopar that they need to replace the part at their expense ASAP or provide a replacement vehicle in the meantime. This problem could have been resolved while it was still under extended warranty! They chose not to do anything! Now it’s out of warranty I’m expected to pay for repairs now! For the same problem that I reported and had looked at by dealership! This vehicle has only 88k on it the power steering should work!! Vehicle shows no codes! Does not indicate any issues! Try to drive it and it’s like trying to steer a truck from the 50’s with no power steering! I’ve talked with many people with same vehicle they all report same issue with electric power steering not functioning properly!! The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving on the highway at 45 MPH, the tailgate unexpectedly opened. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact pulled over onto the side of the highway and closed the tailgate. The contact drove the vehicle to a local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the lock actuator was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 118,000.

ENGINE

My truck was in the dealer for a 66A recall on the crankshaft positioning sensor. The recall states the magnetic material attached to the tone wheel if lost the engine loses its ability to synchronize injector pulse and cam timing. The fix was a PCM reprogram to maintain engine operation if signal is lost. There is a prior recall W68 which address the tone ring for replacement on 2014-2016 model code DS W68 states loss of crankshaft position. the fix under this recall is to replace tone wheel and crank shaft positioning sensor. Because they could lose magnetic material on the tone wheel causing loss of signal from the crankshaft positioning sensor to the PCM. my truck loss power and showed throttle positioning sensor fault and engine light came on . i brought my vehicle into the dealer they diagnosed code po336-00 crankshaft positioning sensor performance. on further inspection found tone wheel has chunk of material missing causing code. they replaced tone wheel as instructed by W68 recall so why is my truck not covered under this recall for the exact same problem.

WArning light to service shifter, service electronic thorottle control and service ABS system, Computers not comunicating due to computer error, found fuse blown and high resistance in the power districution center. replaced and programmed the power distribution module to find anitlock brake model failed. Part is currenlty on engineering hold. We have not been able to ddrive the vehicle since 11/8/2024 and now they are telling us it may be February till part is realeased. There was a safety recall U07 that was repair but the ABS module is the part controlling all items that are failing.

The ABS Control Module has failed. This module controls the ABS, TCS, Cruise Control and leaves the BRAKE light on on the dash. This problem has been diagnosed by the dealership. The part has been discontinued by MOPAR and there are currently no indications of inventory being replenished by a MOPAR part manufacturer or 3rd party manufacturer. Without this, the vehicle no longer has required safety features available for the safe operation of manufacturer specs. The warning lights are operational. The availability of the part is out of stock indefinetly. There has been no indication of a potential solution by the manufacturer. Through repeated attempts to contact Stellantis about this issue, no guidance has been given, only "we're sorry" and "continue to wait for part availability." This issue needs escalation as the manufacturer is not showing, in good faith, that there is something being done to resolve the supply issue and is acting as they are content with the vehicle being in a less than safe state.

Have been forced to drive my truck without ABS and also with all the ABS, Brake and Check Engine lights on due to a faulty ABS Module. RAM has been saying for years they had a fix coming and still nothing. Several components will not work due to this issue. Ram service said its ok to drive even without Anti-Lock Brakes. When I said the thousands of owners who are forced to do this are committing insurance fraud and are at risk liability wise they said no worries. The forums are full of owners with the same issue. To add insult to injury they have adjust the software on our RAM vehicle heath report to not show the owner alert for the failure so less informed owners are unaware of exactly what the issue is. Shortly after purchasing the truck I discovered there was an open recall for the vehicle (14Z46182 Safety Recall Z46), I had the recall completed on April 10, 2024; The High Pressure Fuel Pump, Injector Fuel Tubes, and Fuel Filter were replaced by Port Lavaca Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep. A few months later I started having erratic check engine lights, hard starting etc. I had the codes translated at Auto Zone and it was determined to most likely be the High Pressure Fuel Pump failure. I dismissed that diagnosis as the high pressure fuel pump had recently been replaced. On September 6, 2024 my truck quit running and I had it towed to ROKS DIESEL to be evaluated for the cause. Roks Diesel checked it on September 16, 2024 and said the High Pressure Fuel Pump failed and metal particles were throughout the fuel system and that the complete fuel system must be replaced and the tank cleaned. The fuel was checked for contamination and none was found. I called Port Lavaca Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep to see what I should do; I was told to tow it in and they would perform a duplicate recall. I explained that it needed to be towed from Victoria, TX, so they suggested I save some money and have it towed to Victoria Dodge, Ram, Chrysler, Jeep, which I did. Victoria Dodge, Ram, Chrysler, Jeep evaluated the truck and confirmed what Roks Diesel informed me. They went on to say the fuel was contaminated and there for I would have to pay to remove, reinstall, and clean the fuel tank. I repeatedly asked how they determined the fuel was contaminated and was not given an adequate answer. I was unsuccessful in negotiating with them over charging me for the cleaning of the fuel tank, and agreed to pay because I needed transportation. The vehicle has an air ride suspension that has failed and after researching the issue it seems that this is an ongoing problem for a lot of owners. Without the air ride suspension the vehicle is difficult to control and until fixed it is also my only mode of transportation.

Abs module has electronic fault requiring repair or replacement there is no modules available to repair with some remanufactured ones are available with prices very high also has to be programmed by a dealer making it a very costly repair if you can find one. This is a safety issue as abs will not function till repair complete chrysler is well aware of issue there is thread after thread about it online.

STEERING

On [XXX] my power steering system completely froze in sub-0 temperatures. The wheels were unable to steer right or left. After idling for some time, it unfroze resulting in a grinding noise and very stiff steering. This has continued where the steering freezes in cold temperatures and continues to grind. The vehicle was brought to Main Motor in Johnstown NY (dealer) to inspect this and they determined that the Steering Rack (which includes the EPS) had failed- mainly the steering gear. The truck has 88,000 miles. This is a sealed, unserviceable system and should not fail at this point. The dealer price for a replacement part was $3010 plus labor. As the truck had been out of warranty for a month, I brought it to an independent shop for confirmation and they will be completing the repair. These steering systems are a known issue, I spoke to the consumer complaint department at Ram and through the dealer. Neither wanted to rectify the situation at their own cost. When the contact stopped the vehicle, he observed that the tailgate was open and he was able to raise and secure the tailgate. STRUCTURE

The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at approximately 40 MPH, he heard the sound of the tailgate opening independently. When the contact stopped the vehicle, he observed that the tailgate was open and he was able to raise and secure the tailgate. The contact stated that later he was starting the vehicle and saw that the tailgate was again open, however, he was not able to secure the tailgate. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed and was not repaired. The contact called a local dealer and was informed that he would need to bring the vehicle in for a diagnostic check. The contact asked if there was an open recall. The contact was advised by the dealer that NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V486000 (Structure, Latches/Locks/Linkages) had been completed on the vehicle by a previous owner and he was no longer covered by the recall. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 78,000.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

I have had several issues with this vehicle for over 1 yr, started having issues with the vehicle 3 months after purchasing it. I was unaware of any warranties on my truck because I bought it used. Called the dealership that I bought it from and they said I didn’t have a warranty on it. The truck would lose power while driving than it would show something about exhaust issue. Finally after around 6 months or so we had to take it to the shop to have it fixed paid over $2000 to have it fixed and it worked for some time but finally would not turn on and left us stranded.It has been over a year since we have been able to use the truck because now it has affected the motor. I am so desperate for some type of resolution. This is a recall issue and don’t understand why Chrysler won’t fix it.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

I've read many problems with not being able to put fuel in the truck, I am experiencing that exact problem. You can't pump gas into the tank. The nozzle shuts off immediately, after .15 cents or so. No engine codes to help diagnose the problems.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL

Ram has an issue with the electronic brake module. It effects the anti-brake, anti-slip, trailer brake, and cruise control. They are aware of it and it is documented on many forums as far back as 2016 on my model. My son has a 2018 2500 and is starting to have the same issues. This is an $1100 job but they don't have the part and can't get it. They say it is on back order? No real guarantee it will even last when it is replaced. This is a hazard driving. And definitely an issue you need to address

Since buying our 2016 Ram 1500 ecodiesel, we have had nothing but problems. In 2020 there was an EGR/coolant leak that was supposedly done. Upon getting the recall done, they said that the manufacturer has not yet made any equipment to fix the issue. They replaced our hose, but we have had to get it fixed almost annually since then. This is a lemon of a truck and FCA should be ashamed releasing a vehicle with so many issues and no fix in sight. It says our recall was "remedied", but even the service department said that there is no guaranteed fix because FCA has not released anything to actually fix this issue. We were without our truck for almost a month. Ridiculous. DO NOT BUY THIS TRUCK, YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!

FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP

The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road and the vehicle was able to restart. However, the contact was unable to pull to the side of the road when the failure occurred on one occasion, and the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer. The contact stated that the dealer replaced the high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) several times. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel); however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that there was fuel leaking from underneath the vehicle onto the ground. The vehicle was towed to the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 89,000.

SERVICE BRAKES

* There are ABS and Traction Control warning lamps and messages illuminated on the dash starting in July of 2024. They do not turn off. * Two different certified independent service centers diagnosed the ABS Module as the cause, which requires replacement. * The ABS module has malfunctioned causing the brakes to pulsate and extend safe stopping distance. The problem also causes the traction control feature to not work, which causes extreme danger on a wet surface. Additionally the cruise control will not set due to this ABS module malfunction. * I have ordered a new ABS module from RAM (part # 68295368-AC), but it has been under "Engineering Review" for months with no insight into when the problem will be fixed. Ram states that the truck is "safe to drive" while we wait, but my experience with it shows that to be false. RAM seems to expect us to drive an unsafe vehicle until they get around to finding a solution.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER

Intermittently failure of my power steering. Fluid is full, all components appear fine when inspected by mechanic. Upon further research discovered could be an issue with the circuit board. Unable to drive my truck due to the lack of power steering causing a major potential safety issue.
