ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Airbag light comes on and beeps then shits off intermittently. Happens every time we drive the vehicle. I noticed there were other past recalls about the ABS warning light coming on. The message on dash says "Service Airbag System". Our truck has never been in an accident, the horn still works, wiring looks secure for airbag harness, not sure if this is a common problem but I googled it and I've seen several Ram owners with the same light on.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER

Background: Vehicle purchased in Madison, WI at Schoepp Motors (July 2019). Has been continuously titled, registered, and insured in Wisconsin for over 6 years. Vehicle is fully legal in the U.S. and has a valid Wisconsin title. Issue: The fuel tank strap rusted and failed. This is a well-documented problem for Ram trucks, and Stellantis created an Extended Warranty (Code X75) to address the issue. Stellantis’ database still lists this VIN as a “Canadian market” vehicle. Because of this coding error, U.S. dealerships cannot process coverage under the Fuel Tank Strap Extended Warranty (X75, 12 years / unlimited miles). The X75 program exists specifically due to a safety concern (fuel tank strap corrosion). Despite multiple attempts to resolve this with Stellantis, I have only been directed to “contact a broker,” which does not address the underlying database problem. Timeline: 2019: Vehicle purchased in Madison, WI. 2019–2025: Vehicle continuously titled, registered, and insured in Wisconsin. August 26, 2025: Dealer confirms VIN is coded as Canadian and cannot process warranty coverage. August 27, 2025: Case opened with Stellantis US Customer Care (#[XXX]). Multiple calls and emails → Stellantis repeatedly instructs me to contact a broker, without identifying required documentation. I offered to provide Wisconsin title, registration, and insurance history. Broker consulted → confirmed import documents are not retained after 5 years (per CBP retention rules). Stellantis refuses to escalate meaningfully; no path forward provided. Concern: The X75 program is a safety-related warranty that Stellantis is refusing to honor for a U.S. resident with long-term U.S. ownership. All reasonable avenues with Stellantis Customer Care have been exhausted. I am requesting regulatory review and intervention to compel Stellantis to correct the VIN market assignment and honor the X75 safety program. STEERING

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH and exiting a highway, the contact heard a chime and became aware of the "Service Power Steering" warning light. The contact stated that the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The contact used additional force on the steering wheel to turn the steering wheel to the right and jerked the steering wheel to the center. The contact stopped the vehicle and disconnected the battery terminals to reset the system. The vehicle regained power steering functionality, but almost immediately, the vehicle lost steering assist functionality. The vehicle was driven to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the power steering assist module and the rack and pinion gears had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19E077000 (Steering). The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 260,000.

STEERING

The power steering on the vehicle is stiff due to a communication error to the right pinion. At highway speeds the vehicle’s steering wheel lock up resulting in abrasive movements and a loss of control of the vehicle steering. When the vehicle is at a low rate speed, the steering wheel is very hard to turn, which has almost resulted in a number of vehicle collisions. After extension of research, I have became aware there’s a pending lawsuit with no power regarding this issue. It is approximately three to $4000 to replace the power steering rack and pinion. There have been numerous complaint as mentioned in the lawsuit. I believe if this issue is not immediately addressed, and a recall is submitted from Mopar motor vehicle accidents will increase resulting into severe injury threat to the general public.

SERVICE BRAKES

After rigorous research, it appears that my anti-lock braking system module has failed. A trusted family member that has worked on a plethora of vehicles during their career has performed an inspection and agrees. With the ABS module failing, this can be a significant safety issue for myself and others who own the same vehicle in both collision prevention and defensive driving maneuvers when necessary. I have called Ram dealerships specifically to inquire if the part is available, and it is not available but is in high demand (even dealerships are having difficulty with acquiring the part). After a significant amount of research, it is blatantly obvious that I am not the only one who can't find this needed part. This is my only vehicle for transportation. I have ordered the part with a third-party auto part vendor ($915.00) and have received an email from them advising me that the part I ordered and need is out of stock, and my spot in line is reserved for when the part becomes available. After even more research, I have learned that the manufacturer for Ram parts no longer manufactures this particular part. There currently are warning lights on (ABS, traction control, and the brake indicator) they have remained on since diagnosing this issue and have not gone away. With that being said, this can have a significant impact on immediate braking if necessary, and can lead to other problems such as stability control, transmission issues, uneven braking, parking brake failure, and ultimately total brake failure while in motion. This is not just an issue for me, but apparently for a significant amount of 2013-2015 Ram owners as well. I am on a budget; there is zero supply and high demand. Ram owners are hemorrhaging money regarding repairs to this necessary component for safe vehicle functionality. With this being my mode of transportation, I'm having to be even more aware of extra safety precautions which adds a significant amount of unnecessary stress as a driver.

STEERING

While driving on winding country roads (30mph speed limit) the electronic power steering chimed and lost all assistance. I almost ran into another car/ off the road as steering became extremely difficult. I was able to get the wheel turned and come to a stop.I have never had an issue with the steering before so this was very unexpected. The truck is completely stock, regularly maintained and only has about 150000 miles on it. I was able to pull codes from my scanner C2217-00 Electric Power Steering Internal Failure. The fact that I have driven a truck that had hydraulic power steering fail and had more control is alarming.

SERVICE BRAKES

I have my 2014 Dodge Ram in for service for my ABS module replacement, part number 68228991AD, after the ABS light and traction control light came on. I have been told the part is on back order and has been for quite some time. The dealer has called other dealers to locate the part, and all are in the same situation, cannot locate that part. This is a safety issue to do with the braking of the vehicle and if continued driving with a faulty ABS Module, could lead to brakes locking up or vehicle not stopping when needed. How can this part be on back order so long and people having to take risks and drive their vehicles with the issue as they may not having anything else to drive. My vehicle has been at the dealer since July 10th, 2025 awaiting this part. They tell me they do not have a date as to when it can be expected to arrive or if it will arrive. They gave recommended to me not to drive the vehicle in this situation as I could be in accident when the brakes are needed. This needs to be addressed and this part should be recalled as I have done my own investigation online and there are lots of people with this same problem and unable to get the part. Some people have become desperate and purchased refurbished or used ABS modules for this same vehicle and paid a significant amount for it just to have it fail just shortly after installation. Driving with a faulty ABS module can be risky as it disables the ant-locking system, potentially leading to wheel lockup and reduced steering control during braking, especially in slippery conditions. This needs to be addressed by your organization as the safety of human beings and their families are at risk of accidents with potential deaths.

I got it to a mechanic, and I was told I need an entire new steering rack. Part number 68628858AA. I had zero notification that this was going to happen. It was driving fine. This is almost $4000 to fix. I only have 68,000 miles on my truck. This part needs to be recalled on 2014 Rams. After some research there are several cases of this exact issue. The ABS control module failed on my 2014 Ram 1500 and is no longer available from Mopar. The part (68228991AD) is discontinued or on indefinite backorder. This disables a federally required safety system (ABS and electronic stability control). Dealerships will not install used parts, and there is no OEM solution. This renders the vehicle unsafe to operate and poses a risk to me and others on the road. Dodge/Stellantis needs to provide a solution or replacement. I’m requesting NHTSA investigation and recall if necessary.

The fuel pump in the 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 Longhorn Lemaire overheats while driving with less than a quarter tank of petrol. Stalling during acceleration, prolonged cranking durations prior to ignition, and abrupt power loss at highway velocities causes significant warning signs. Engine surges at times and cause irregular idling. Whining and buzzing sounds emanating from the fuel tank region. Decreased fuel efficiency without justification. The check engine light is illuminated with fuel pressure-related codes (P0087, P0190). Research indicates that 4th generation Rams (2009-2018) frequently experience failures owing to inadequate factory pumps and issues with the TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module) relay. The fifth-generation vehicles (2019 and beyond) exhibit a reduction in failures; nonetheless, they remain susceptible to contamination from degraded plastic tanks when ethanol-blended gasoline is utilized over extended periods, and pressure below requirements indicates pump failure.

I tried to locate the part on my own and there is in fact a nationwide backorder. After further investigation, I found multiple owners on Ram forums either having or have had the same problems. On one parts website, I found this message regarding the part: PART ON HOLD UNTIL ENGINEERING REVIEW IS COMPLETE, EXP - MAR 20TH, 2025. Located at: [XXX] This is not just an issue with 2014 Ram trucks, but extends to other model years using the same part number. This is a huge safety issue that should be addressed through a recall and the NHTSB has the power to right this wrong. Stellantis is doing what large corporations do and protecting their bottom line at the expense of putting customers' safety at risk. We are the little guys with limited financial means and power, to go up against a large corporation to get them to act and do what is right. Please advise soonest. Vehicle is a 2014 Ram 1500 with electric rack and pinion steering. The truck has 96XXX miles on it. When starting the truck the "service power steering" warning comes on in the info center and truck does not have power steering and is very difficult to turn. There have been times that the steering warning lamp is on on startup (different than the "service power steering" warning) and the steering doesn't work . This is a widespread issue with this model of truck. After trouble shooting it has been determined the electronic module is bad and it is $4200.00 to replace at the dealer. There was a limited recall on the 2016 models for the same problem but for a very limited number of trucks. This is an ongoing issue for these trucks. It's not a mater of if they fail it is a matter of when. Most of the reports I have read is that they fail between 60- 100K miles. This is Very dangerous if it fails when driving. Since this has been not recalled the problem doesn't show up on a carfax or any other car reports so you have no idea this is a thing until it happens to you.

Power steering quit working while I was driving without warning. I have replaced the battery and tried numerous solutions and they have not resulted in fixing the power steering. Outside of replacing the entire rack, I have run out of options. My fear is that if I had been with my children, driving on a winding road, or otherwise, this error could have cost me thousands of dollars or totaled the vehicle and/or caused innumerable cost of damage to property or other vehicles and people. Without a resolution, the vehicle is rendered inoperable. According to the Mooar website [XXX] ) cost to replace has been estimated to be between $3105.00-$3870.00 before adding the service fees. This is a vehicle that our family of five needs. It is also something that is too costly to repair and we cannot trade it in or sell it for any real value. This issue is a safety concern that should be addressed of the highest concern. Other 2014 Ram 1500’s have been recalled due to concerns regarding the power steering; however, our vehicle was not given a recall. [XXX] ). I feel that this defect is extremely dangerous. Without warning, the power steering will intermittently stop working. Trying the truck off and waiting sometimes solves the issue but that isn’t always the case and expecting customers to drive a vehicle that has a defect that is a hazard, is irresponsible and has already cost our family money that we have needed for other expenses. Thank you for allowing me to contact you and I look forward to hearing from you with a solution to this problem. My Electronic Power Steering Rack failed intermittently. After further research, I discovered that other Ram year models between 2013 and 2019 had recalls on the electric assited power steering rack. Unfortunately, my VIN is NOT subject to any of the recalls mentioned above even though some of the parts are the same. I believe that the Rack or it's inner individual parts is defective in it's design and unsafe, as the power steering can fail during operation, causing a loss of control and could result in a crash. The part has now completely failed and the vehicle is parked and not driveable. It is available for inspection here at my residence. I have not had the truck inspected by a Dodge dealer since the VIN is NOT under a steering recall. I am certain that it should be. Driving the vehicle could be dangerous and deadly with this kind of failure.

STEERING

This problem first surfaced during the fall of 2023. Starting the vehicle having been parked overnight, the electonic power steering on the Ram 1500 failed. This made steering the vehicle especially difficult. Very hard turning. Difficult to maneuver into tight spaces, turns, and parking spots. A right turn into the right lane is almost impossible due to the exaggerated turn radius required without the EPS. The dashboard does show a red urgency light that looks like a steering wheel with exclamation points on the left and right sides. This was the first time the power steering failed. A couple days later the system returned and functioned normally. However, several times since then, particularly during high humidity, rain, or even after certain snow events, the power steering has failed to operate properly. As of this writing, on May 1, 2025, we have been without benefit of the EPS since December 2024. Even though the days are no longer humid and they are getting warmer, the system has not reverted to full operation. In early 2024 a Dodge sales and service garage gave a quote to replace the entire rack and pinion, stating that there was a computer component on there that needed replacing. Calls to two more repairmen and online Internet searches returned the same general price quotes. Online searches into this problem show that there are many other complaints of the same type of malfunction for the Ram 1500 over the past about six years.

The Power steering system on our 2014 Ram is faulty and we were told there is a recall associated with this issue but it does not include our Vin Number. If this is a known issue with the Rams from 2013-2016 why haven't all the models been recalled. As of this time the issue only happens when first starting the truck and then the warning light goes off. We are afraid to drive this vehicle.

My electric power steering rack has failed. The vehicle is very hard to steer and unsafe to drive. I know there was a recent recall affecting 1500 Rams which included my model year of 2014. But my VIN was excluded for some reason. I think the recall should be expanded to include my VIN, as the problem is exactly the same. I have not been in an accident with vehicle - it's just not safe to drive.

When I start the engine the power steering light comes on. The steering wheel remains very firm and the wheel can not be turned. After approx 10-15 minutes, depending on how long it takes the vehicle to warm up, the power steering light will go out. At this time the vehicle can be driven and the light has not come back on while driving. There was a former recall on this same type of issue in the past involving the EPS. I have filled out this form before and feel that this is huge safety issue and I believe this warrants another recall. There are several forums online discussing others having this same issue. POWER TRAIN

The electric power steering (EPS) system on my 2014 Ram 1500 has intermittently failed, most recently when transitioning from idle, such as leaving a parking lot, and during deep turns. This marks the third time I've experienced steering-related issues with this truck. Each time the EPS fails, a "Service Power Steering" alert appears, and the steering becomes extremely difficult, posing a serious safety risk, especially in situations requiring precise maneuvering or sudden corrections. A sudden loss of steering control could lead to a collision, potentially resulting in serious injury or death. This issue has been previously repaired twice—once by the original dealer and once under warranty after I purchased the truck, without prior knowledge of the problem. Despite these repairs, the failure has returned, indicating an unresolved or recurring defect. The issue has not yet been diagnosed or confirmed by a dealer or independent mechanic for this latest occurrence. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.

As I turned left onto [XXX} The steering wheel suddenly, without notice, locked left a spun right to 12 o'clock,, straight alignment which caused my left risk to to snap and I believe would have been broken if I had not let go of the steering wheel. This caused the vehicle to veer into the left lane slightly across the center lane where oncoming traffic deemed it necessary to veer right to curbside to prevent a collision. Although almost impossible to steer, I managed to turn it around and get it back into my yard which is approximately 800 feet . The steering remained almost impossible to steer after a few checks and then and now it is permanently locked. There were at the time of incident, no warning lights. There after: the service power steering light appears. Thomasville Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram advised that the EPS rack and pinion is the cause and has to be replaced. Are people supposed to drive around their truck and hope the ABS system doesn't fail and end of hurting someone because they discontinued the part. Absolute frustrating and uncalled for by FCA/RAM. This also a very widespread issue with these modules in RAM trucks and why isn't something done about this? How can they sell vehicles that are potentially very very unsafe?

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

The vehicle has a fault in the ABS system that is causing the ABS light to stay on, as well as the traction control light and the Brake light. This means the brakes will lock up, causing the vehicle to slide, the vehicle has no assisted traction control, and the cruise control will not engage. In a vehicle like this (a pick-up truck) the back end is notoriously light and will easily loose traction during emergency braking and without traction control, can easily lose control on wet roads. The part needed to repair this issue, the ABS Module, is unavailable anywhere...and has been for years now. Some can still be found in old junk vehicles, or for sale out of used vehicles, but these have no guarantee and are no safer or less susceptible to failure than the stock product. No to mention they can only be found at exorbitant prices since they are in such high demand on an obviously sub-par part. Why does this part have so many issues and why is it impossible to fix? The vehicle is unsafe without this fix! The tires absolutely slide on wet roads now with loss of steering control and the rear end easily breaks free of traction on wet roads! The vehicle also will not pass inspection anymore because of this issue. This has been a problem for a year at this point.,

When I needed an oil change I took the truck to the dealer I always go to and informed the service writer about it. They said they couldn't check it out for the module until it completely goes out. So, on 5/22/23 I took the truck to the dealer cause the ABS module went out along with my trailer brake control and traction control. The service writer called the parts depart. to see if the module was in house and parts said they would have to order it. Service writer said I could drive the truck and I told them that the brakes are not the same as when the module was working. I told them that you have to push harder on the pedal and that the brakes are not stopping as quickly. He said it would be alright. Every time I take the truck in for an oil change I ask them about the module and call them quite often and the service writer's tell me the same about the module. Parts can not get a module from the manufacturer and don't know when they will get one but, the part is on order. The service writer did give me a phone number to the manufacturer linking me to a help department to see if they can inquire or know why the company is not making them. On 1/23/25 I did call the manufacturer and talk to one of the personal there. The person did not have any information on the module and they said they couldn't tell me why there are no ABS MODULES and that I should keep calling the parts department at my local dealer. So, I guess I don't know when the brakes will completely go out while I am driving it or my family is in it with me that may cause a wreck. I can't pull my camper and haven't for two years now. I have a complete loss of power steering on my vehicle. At first it was intermittent. I could be driving the vehicle and lose power steering. I could have power steering, shut the vehicle off and restart it and have no power steering. Early on when I lost power steering I could put the scanner on which it would indicate code c2217, clear the code and power steering would resume. This no longer works and there is complete power steering loss. I contacted Ram customer service on 12/23/2024 and was given case id 91757632. I contacted them on 1/22/2025 and was given case id 91960594. I was promised that someone would contact me within 24 hours, no response. I then contacted them on 2/3/2025 and was given the same promise with no response. On 2/5/2025 I once again called Ram customer support and asked to speak with a manager. I was told that I would be contacted within 24 to 48 hours which they documented via email, no response. From my research I have learned that the probable cause is a manufacturing defect being a contaminated circuit board. Recall S19 has been issued for 2015/2016 trucks but to date not for mine. I am left with a life threatening vehicle and I cannot even begin to describe the runaround that these representatives have given me.

STEERING

The power steering motor died. My 2014 RAM 1500 is no longer drivable due to not being able to steer. My truck is currently at the dealership, and it is going to cost $4050 to replace the part. I have 117k miles on the truck and it is almost 10 years old, major components like the power steering should not go out this early in the vehicle's life. I do not see a recall currently opened, but I do see where several people have posted the same issue as me.

POWER TRAIN

I had my 2014 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel serviced for a recall regarding the crankshaft position sensor, recall 66A/NHSTA 23V-411 in December of 2023. The recall calls for an update to be downloaded to the crankshaft position sensor to allow it to continue functioning when the adhesive fails on the magnetic strip on the tone wheel. In January of 2025 I was driving down the road when the Service Electronic Throttle Control System light came on. I immediately lost power, my truck wouldn't go above 3K RPMs, and has a hard time starting. I took it to the dealership on January 21, 2025 and they diagnosed it as needing the crankshaft position sensor replaced. The dealership quoted me $1600 to replace. I called Ram to see if they would cover the bill since that part is recalled. They said that since the 8 year warranty is expired, and the recall had already been served, they would not honor the recall. My concern is that adhesive on the magnetic strip failed, causing the crankshaft position to be damaged. This occurred while driving at low speeds. Had this happened while driving down the interstate, the sudden loss of power could have been catastrophic. My truck still will not go above 3K RPMs, has very little power, and has trouble starting. Even though this part is recalled, neither the dealership nor the manufacturer will cover the costs to replace the part.

Electric Power steering (EPS) Warning lamp came on while driving this 2014 Ram 1500 Crew Cab 4x4 1500 Big Horn and had no power steering! Mechanic states approximately $4k to replace rack and pinion steering. Searching there are thousands of these trucks out there with the same problem. I have checked the Ram "recall" and the S/N on this gear does not match any of those listed. Terrible design and FCA needs to step up to the plate and make this right for Ram Owners before more are injured or worse. Truck will be parked it it not safe to drive and who has four grand laying around to fix these trucks?

The Electronic Power Steering (EPS) module in my 2014 RAM 1500 fails consistently (each time) when the vehicle is started. To date, the EPS module begins working within 10 to 20 minutes of vehicle start-up but does not provide any confidence in it's continued operation. The vehicle has reeently been in for replacement of the EPS module, including the rack and pinion system. When the EPS module is not working, there is no power steering assist, and driving the vehicle puts the driver, other occupants and surrounding vehicles/pedestrians in danger, especially were it to fail unexpectedly during operation. The problem has been confirmed to require replacement of the EPS module at Earnhardt CDJR in Gilbert, Arizona in October 2024. It was confirmed again by an independent service center on January 15, 2025 and has recently been in for repair/replacement. While this particular vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, there has been a recall of the EPS module for 2013-2019 RAM 1500s, so the problem has been acknowledged by the manufacturer. No warning lamps or messages appeared prior to the failure. Following the initial failure, each time the vehicle is started the "Service Power Steering" warning lamp and message appears. The warning lamp and message turn off when the EPS module begins working.

While driving, the electronic power steering stopped working and caused the steering to lock. Had to take urgent maneuvers to get stopped while not being able to steer. A red power steering warning light popped and flashed on the dash. The truck was turned off and started again and the light and issue went away. Started the truck again the next day, light and power steering light was on again (with steering locked). Turned off, started again and the light is gone and power steering works. Appears to be an electrical or related issue. This has not been taken to the shop as of yet as it happened these past few days. Looking into history and options and found this active NHTSA Action Number: RQ23003 which is an exact match for my experience. We are looking into options for repair but seems the entire rack and pinion will need to be replaced for a non-mechanical, electrical issue. Cost are estimated to be over $3k.

SUSPENSION

honestly the compressor failed for the air suspension and keeps failing many times for many people in different altitudes and humidity levels as you guys should already know by now. the system is supposed to be a sealed system that no air should be able to get into, right? so my question and things i really would like you guys to look into is why, if this true why do they need a dryer for the n2 gas based system they is not supposed to be able to get air in it? more so when n2 gas is supposed to expel moisture and being a dry gas. I bought this truck in Colorado and in the dry cold of Colorado I had no issues like this but the moment i had my first winter in a more humid environment and it dropped to 20 degrees Fahrenheit the system failed such as the fact that im in Texas now. being a sealed system no air is able to vent out unless triggered buy certain modes so my ride just leveled out to normal drive mode but will not engage the compressor properly. I'm currently in college though just starting for diesel engines even my instructor is stumped. this system to me doesn't make sense and its failing from what I gathered in more humid cold environments not so much dryer cold, and popping the fuses by trying to pull more power to dry the system that supposedly isn't getting moister in it. so this system is clearly flawed and doesn't make seance plus it also truly depends on how and where the company tested the product. in the end my suspension triggered the red code of immediate air suspension repair/replacement and no longer works properly this is almost a 500 dollar fix that many have to do every winter including me. some may have to pay more for those who cant do it themselves. please investigate the compression and dryer system in higher humidity and extreme cold based environment and if im right im right if im wrong im wrong. i just want answers and the problem fixed since this issue has been going since 2013 to now.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL

Driving on the interstate without cruise control on at 70 mph. I had a vehicle passing in the fast lane and a vehicle in front of me slowing down so I applied a little pressure to my brake peddle and my truck automatically began to accelerate on its own. I kept pushing on the brake peddle and it was stuck in a acceleration. The brakes tried slowing it down but it would not stop acceleration once I took my foot of the brake peddle it just rapidly began to pick up speed on its own again! I ended up pushing down on the break peddle long enough to turn off the engine and coast off to the side on the interstate. I was so glad it happened while I was driving it and not my wife she could of wrecked into the back of the vehicle in front of us and caused a multiple car crash! The Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) light came on while I was pushing down on the brakes to try stopping the truck, but once I turned the engine off and back on again the (ETC) did not come back on although the brake lights stayed on for about 10 miles.

SERVICE BRAKES

On or around august of 2023 I received a warning light to service ABS system. After I scanned the truck I received the following codes, C2200 status: MIL/CONFIRMED - Anti-lock Brake Module Internal: Internal Electronic Failure, and U0415 status: MIL/CONFIRMED - Invalid Data Received from Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Control Module 'A’: No Sub Type Information. I took the truck to a mechanic to confirm and repair. I was told that the ABS module would need to be replaced but that it was on back order. Since then the ABS system has randomly worked properly and randomly failed. Without a properly working ABS system it is very dangerous to drive due to the lack of traction control, anti-lock brakes, trailer brakes and all other items related to the ABS system. This could cause an accident. I have tried since to get a new ABS module and every time I inquired about it the module has been on back order. I was told by multiple mechanics that this is a common issue with FCA vehicles and the ABS modules are always on back order and very difficult to get. This is a very serious concern if I can’t buy a part that has to due with the braking system. The truck is available for inspection upon request

The electric power steering failed without notice on 12-12-24. I was driving all day with no incident. I stoped for about 5 minutes and when I restarted my truck the steering wheel was stiff. Received a warning light to service power steering. I had no choice but to drive back home without the power steering working with much difficulty. I then scanned the truck and it gave me fault code C2217 status:MIL/CONFIRMED - Electric Power Steering Module Internal: No Sub Type Information. After disconnecting all connections and confirming there wasn’t no corrosion present, I cleaned all connections to the battery as a precaution and once everything was put back the power steering worked. Everything worked perfectly until 1-3-25 when the power steering went out again with the same fault code. I was able to get the truck home where I reinspected all connections. Once I reconnected everything the power steering worked again. It continued to work until 1-6-25 and has not worked since. Mechanic confirmed that the power steering module failed and the entire rack and pinion assembly needs to be replaced. He also mentioned this is a common issue with these trucks and there was an open investigation on FCA due to it. When the power steering fails it creates a safety risk to everyone on the road due to the fact the truck is extremely difficult the steer and can lead to an accident. The truck is currently available for inspection upon request due to the high cost of repair.
