2024 PREVOST H3-45 Complaints and Recall Information
The 2024 PREVOST H3-45 has 2 complaints and 17 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report issues with 120V AC electrical outlets and covers breaking and exposing live circuits, which poses an electrocution hazard. There are also complaints about passenger seat belt latches failing to latch securely, involving two different part numbers.
Common Issues- Electrical outlet failure. 120V AC electrical outlets break and expose live circuits, creating an electrocution hazard for passengers.
- Outlet covers breakage. Covers on 120V AC electrical outlets fracture and fall off, leaving live electrical circuits exposed.
- Seat belt latch defects. Passenger seat belt latches fail to securely latch. Two different part numbers are involved, covering different seat locations.
The vehicle has 17 recalls affecting various systems including fuel, electrical, safety features, and adaptive equipment. Recalls address defects that range from overheating coolant heaters to malfunctioning driver assist systems and wheelchair lift safety concerns.
Recalls- Fuel system coolant heater. (NHTSA 24V213000) 37 vehicles affected. Coolant heaters may overheat and generate excessive exhaust gas, raising risks of carbon monoxide poisoning and fire. Owners are advised not to operate heaters until repair. Prevost inspects, replaces damaged components, cleans internal parts, and adjusts air to fuel ratio at no cost.
- Battery cable grommet. (NHTSA 24V179000) 79 vehicles affected. Incorrectly installed grommet allows battery cables to chafe on metal edges, risking short circuit and fire. Prevost will inspect and reinstall grommet free of charge.
- Automatic emergency braking sensor. (NHTSA 23V805000) 183 vehicles affected. Radar sensor may be blocked by incorrect front bumper panel, causing driver assist malfunction that could either engage or fail to engage brakes unintentionally. Prevost will inspect and replace bumper panels as needed at no cost.
- Wheelchair lift bridging device. (NHTSA 24V523000) 2,653 vehicles affected. Bridging device may be too steep, causing wheelchair instability and injury risk. Prevost will replace the device free of charge.
- Grid heater relay cables. (NHTSA 23V761000) 204 vehicles affected. Loose connections can cause relay overheating, increasing fire risk. Prevost inspects, tightens relay nuts, and replaces damaged parts at no cost.
- Threshold Warning System red beacon. (NHTSA 23V889000) 2,100 vehicles affected. Beacon illumination may be inadequate, rendering the warning less visible and increasing injury risk to wheelchair lift users. Prevost will replace beacons free of charge.
- Right front turn signal. (NHTSA 23V474000) 93 vehicles affected. Turn signal may fail when activated, reducing vehicle visibility and increasing crash risk. Prevost will install improved wiring with additional resistors at no cost.
Owners dealing with repeated repairs, safety defects, or unresolved recall issues involving this vehicle may wish to explore their rights under state lemon laws for potential remedies.
