The 2008 PREVOST H3-45 has 0 complaints and 12 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report issues related to vehicle systems addressed through recalls but have not submitted formal complaints about the model.
The recalls for the 2008 PREVOST H3-45 involve several systems including adaptive mobility equipment, accelerator pedal functionality, engine fire detection, fuel system integrity, and wheelchair lift safety features.
Recalls- Adaptive mobility equipment. Recall 10V117000 affects 280 vehicles with Ricon public use lifts. The restraint belt may appear latched without fully engaging, allowing the lift to move with an occupant, raising the risk of injury. The remedy includes a warning decal and a DVD-based training aid issued starting June 14, 2010.
- Accelerator pedal throttle sensor. Recall 12V303000 covers 400 coaches equipped with Volvo D13 engines. A faulty throttle position sensor may cause the vehicle to stop responding to accelerator input, increasing crash risk. Dealers replace the sensor free of charge since July 13, 2012.
- Fire detection system. Recall 12V309000 affects 98 vehicles with an automatic fire detection and suppression system. The thermal detector may rub against brackets causing false activation and unexpected engine shutdown. Repairs involve inspecting and securing the detector at no charge starting July 2012.
- Software throttle control. Recall 13V039000 involves 1,033 coaches from 2008 to 2013. A software issue can fix the throttle at 1700 rpm regardless of pedal input, risking loss of control. Dealers perform a free remedy beginning May 2, 2013.
- Fuel line abrasion. Recall 15V122000 includes 455 vehicles that may lack a fuel line clip causing fuel line rubbing against coolant hoses, risking leaks and fire. The fix inspects and secures lines, replacing damaged parts free of charge since March 26, 2015.
- Wheelchair lift platform. Recall 24V523000 affects 2,653 vehicles from 2005 to 2024 equipped with wheelchair lifts. The platform bridging device may be too steep, causing instability and injury risk. Prevost replaces the bridging device free of charge with owner notification starting April 25, 2025.
Owners dealing with multiple repairs or unresolved issues related to these recalls may have rights under state lemon laws and should consult appropriate legal resources if their vehicle remains unsafe or unreliable after attempted remedies.

EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY:WHEELCHAIR LIFT/RAMP
Prevost Car (US) Inc. (Prevost) is recalling certain 2005-2024 X3-45, 2017-2019 and 2021-2023 X3-45 Commuter, 2006-2007, 2014, and 2018 H3-41, 2005-2020 and 2022-2024 H3-45, and 2019 H3-45 VIP buses equipped with a wheelchair lift. The wheelchair platform bridging device may be too steep, which can cause the wheelchair to become unstable. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 403, "Platform Lift Devices" and 404, "Platform Lift Installations."
Risk: An unstable wheelchair increases the risk of injury to lift occupants.

EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY
PREVOST HAS NOTIFIED NHTSA OF A DEFECT IN CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2008-2010 MOTOR COACHES FITTED WITH RICON PUBLIC USE LIFTS. THE RESTRAINT BELT ON THESE LIFTS WAS DESIGNED TO PREVENT THE LIFT FROM MOVING, UNLESS THE TONGUE OF THE BELT IS FULLY ENGAGED AND LATCHED IN THE BUCKLE. RICON HAS DISCOVERED, HOWEVER, THAT IT IS POSSIBLE FOR THE OPERATOR TO INSERT THE BELT TONGUE INTO THE BUCKLE WITHOUT FULLY ENGAGING THE LATCHING MECHANISM. IN THIS CASE, THE RESTRAINT BELT WOULD APPEAR TO BE LATCHED, AND THE OPERATOR COULD RUN THE LIFT. IF THE RESTRAINT BELT TONGUE IS NOT FULLY ENGAGED INTO THE RESTRAINT BELT BUCKLE, AND LATCHED, THE LIFT MAY OPERATE WITH AN OCCUPANT ON THE PLATFORM.
Risk: THE USER OF THE LIFT COULD BE INJURED SHOULD THE LIFT MOVE WITHOUT THE RESTRAINT BELT PROPERLY BUCKLED.
