Recalls- Fire suppression sensor. NHTSA recall 23V126000 affects 555 vehicles from model years 2018 to 2023 including the H3-45 VIP. The optical fire sensor in the lower engine compartment can corrode and malfunction, potentially triggering a false automatic fire suppression activation. This may cause an unintended engine shutdown and discharge of chemical agent, risking a loss of drive power and requiring passenger evacuation in unsafe conditions. Prevost will inspect, install spacers, and replace the sensor if needed at no cost.
- Alternator belt and bearing. NHTSA recall 22V221000 covers 6,342 vehicles from 2010 to 2023 models including the H3-45 VIP. A seized alternator front bearing combined with a continuing alternator belt operation can cause the bearing to overheat. This overheating increases the risk of fire. Prevost will replace the alternator belt free of charge. The recall does not include any do not drive or park outside advisories.
Owners facing repeated repairs or unresolved recall issues involving safety defects may have rights under their state lemon law. Consulting with a qualified attorney could help understand potential remedies related to persistent problems or recall noncompliance.
