- Door handle springs. Recall 13V214000 affects 2006 vehicles produced between 2007 and 2013. Springs in outer door handles may be too weak, allowing the door to open during certain impacts and increasing injury risk. Pierce will replace the springs with stiffer ones free of charge.
- Seat belt buckles. Recall 14V243000 involves 150 vehicles from late 2013 to early 2014 equipped with IMMI-brand L9 buckles. The release button may fail to fully disengage the latch plate, making belt release difficult and potentially hindering emergency egress. Dealers will inspect and replace buckles as needed at no cost.
- Stokes basket brackets. Recall 22V809000 affects 299 vehicles ranging from 2010 to 2022 models including the Dash CF. Insufficient welding on left and/or right mounting brackets may cause bracket failure and the basket to fall, posing an injury hazard. Pierce will replace all affected brackets free of charge.
Owners dealing with repeated repairs or unresolved recall issues involving critical safety components may have rights under their state’s lemon law.

EQUIPMENT:MECHANICAL
Pierce Manufacturing (Pierce) is recalling certain 2010-2022 Pierce Velocity, Enforcer, Arrow XT, Quantum, and Dash CF fire trucks. Stokes basket mounting brackets may be insufficiently welded.
Risk: The left and/or right brackets can fail, allowing the stokes basket to fall and increasing the risk of injury.

SEAT BELTS
Pierce Manufacturing (Pierce) is recalling certain model year 2013 Arrow XT, Dash CF, Impel, and Velocity vehicles manufactured October 2013 through January 2014, and equipped with IMMI-brand L9 seat belt buckles. When the button is pressed to release the seat belt, the latch plate can become partially engaged with the buckle, making the seat belt difficult to unlatch. Thus, these vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies."
Risk: If the latch plate remains partially engaged after the button is pressed, egress from the vehicle could be hindered which would increase the risk of injury in the event of an emergency.

2006 vehicles affected
STRUCTURE:BODY:DOOR
Pierce Manufacturing Inc. (Pierce) is recalling certain model year 2007-2013 Velocity, Impel, and Dash CF emergency vehicles manufactured June 6, 2007, through May 31, 2013. The springs in the outer door handles are not of sufficient stiffness to prevent inadvertent door opening in certain impacts. Thus, these vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 206, "Door Locks and Door Retention Components."
Risk: In the event of a crash, the weak springs may allow the door to open and possibly fail to contain emergency personnel or equipment, increasing the risk of injury.
