- Rear disc brake interference. Recall 10V317000 affects 45 vehicles. The Meritor Wabco EX225 rear disc brake caliper may interfere with Onspot automatic tire chain brackets, restricting caliper movement and reducing braking performance without warning. Dealers will install new tire chain brackets free of charge.
- Engine shutdown risk. Recall 10V195000 involves 827 vehicles with Detroit Diesel Series 60 engines that may shut down unexpectedly when a diesel particulate filter overheats. The fix includes reprogramming engine controls to prevent shutdown while illuminating a malfunction indicator light.
- Brake slack adjuster interference. Recall 10V269000 covers 14 vehicles. Rear brake slack adjusters may contact automatic tire chain brackets, compromising brake capability. Dealers will install new brackets at no cost.
- Incorrect front wheel fitment. Recall 11V230000 affects 5 vehicles using 12.25 inch wide wheels with Michelin tires that require 10.5 inch wide wheels. This mismatch may cause tire bead separation and potential tire failure leading to crashes. Dealers will replace wheels and tires free of charge.
- Loose air cleaner fasteners. Recall 11V097000 covers 108 vehicles with Caterpillar C13 engines where upper air cleaner bracket fasteners may loosen and fall, possibly causing an engine fire. Dealers will repair the issue at no cost.
- Electronic stability control malfunction. Recall 11V527000 involves 724 vehicles whose ESC modules may misinterpret vehicle conditions, applying front axle outer wheel brakes and potentially causing deviation from the intended path. The ESC control module will be replaced free of charge.
- Cab tilt mount failure. Recall 13V525000 affects 3115 vehicles where cab tilt cylinder mounts may fatigue and fail, allowing the cab to fall until the safety catch engages. New safety signs will be installed warning operators to stay clear during cab tilting.
- Trailer lighting circuit defect. Recall 13V518000 covers 349 vehicles with trailer connector circuits wired to let the stop signal override the turn signal, preventing trailer turn indication during braking and increasing crash risk. Dealers will install new electrical harnesses free of charge.
- Front suspension control arm cracking. Recall 14V660000 involves 135 vehicles with TAK-4 front independent suspensions where lower control arms may crack and fracture, risking wheel separation. Inspections and replacements will be performed at no cost.
- Aerial device unexpected rotation. Recall 19V022000 affects 994 vehicles where the aerial ladder may unintentionally rotate to the right during extension, increasing risk of contact with objects. Dealers will reprogram aerial control modules free of charge.
- Rear steer axle shaft defect. Recall 17V348000 involves 225 vehicles where electric all-steer rear axle shafts were not heat treated properly, creating risk of axle breakage and vehicle disablement. Dealers will replace axle shafts free of charge.
- Aerial bracket detachment. Recall 18V463000 covers 17 vehicles with 75ft aerial devices whose limited retraction brackets may detach and fall, posing a hazard to people below. Additional mounting hardware will be installed free of charge.
Owners dealing with repeated repairs or unresolved recall issues involving critical safety systems may have rights under their state’s lemon law. Consulting a consumer protection attorney may help clarify those rights.

ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC)
PIERCE MANUFACTURING (PIERCE) IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2007-2011 ARROW XTAND VELOCITY, MODEL YEAR 2008-2011 CUSTOM CONTENDER, IMPEL, QUANTUM AND MODEL YEAR 2009-2011 SABER EMERGENCY TRUCKS, EQUIPPED WITH MERITOR WABCO ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) MODULES, MANUFACTURED FROM DECEMBER 19, 2007, THROUGH OCTOBER 7, 2011. UNDER CERTAIN ROAD AND DRIVING CONDITIONS, VEHICLE BODY ROLL AND ROAD INCLINATION CHARACTERISTICS MAY ADVERSELY AFFECT THE SLIP ANGLE CALCULATION OF THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) SYSTEM. THIS MIGHT CAUSE THE ESC TO PERCEIVE AN OVER STEERING SITUATION AND THEREFORE APPLY THE OUTER WHEEL BRAKE ON THE FRONT AXLE UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS PERCEIVED TO BE STABLE.
Risk: IF THE DRIVER IS SLOW TO REACT DURING THIS ESC INTERVENTION, THE VEHICLE MAY DEVIATE FROM THE INTENDED LINE OF TRAVEL, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
