POWER TRAIN:DRIVELINE:DRIVESHAFT

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2024 Sentra vehicles. The front left-side driveshaft may not be fully seated in the continuously variable transmission (CVT) assembly, or may have a loose or missing retaining clip, which can cause a transmission fluid leak and loss of drive power.

Risk: An unexpected loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash.

VISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2024 Nissan Sentra vehicles. The windshield may have air bubbles on the front lower driver's side, which can obscure the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 205, "Glazing Materials."

Risk: An owner who cannot see their VIN clearly may not recognize their vehicle is involved in a safety recall, and may not have the recall remedy performed, which could increase the risk of injury, fire, or a crash.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

The contact owns a 2024 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, several warning lights and messages, including the "Check Engine" and "CVT Malfunction Service Now" were displayed on the instrument panel. The contact also stated that while at a stoplight, the vehicle either jerked or hesitated while depressing the accelerator pedal. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle failed to shut off while shifted into park(P) and pressing the START/STOP button. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on several occasions, where the contact was repeatedly informed that there was no failure found with the vehicle. On a recent visit, the contact was informed that there was a faulty, unknown sensor that needed to be replaced; however, the part needed for the repair needed to be ordered. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle remained with the dealer unrepaired. The failure mileage was approximately 26,000.

AIR BAGS

My wife who was driving had stopped at a pedestrian crosswalk behind another car that had stopped to allow people to cross. While we were stopped a GMC truck plowed into the rear of our car at a high rate of speed. Police, fire, and an ambulance were called to the seen. The occupant driving the truck was ticked for driving to close and taking his eyes off the road. My wife and I suffered injuries because the airbags did not deploy. She had a leg contusion, arm, neck, back, injuries whiplash, and an erratic heart rhythm. I suffered a mild concussion from hitting the windshield causing a severe nose bleed and whiplash. We spent 4 hrs. in the Middlesex ER in Westbrook CT. I was given a CATSCAN and my wife two EKGs. We are both scheduled for follow-up visits with our primary care Doctors as well as Physical Rehab Therapy. The driver of the GMC had coverage and at present my car is at Grossman's Auto Body Repair located in Old Saybrook, CT. They are waiting for the appraiser from U.S.S.A insurance to arrive.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER

For the past 6 weeks my car has abruptly stopped. No forwarding, no lights. All of which occurred during heavily moving traffic putting myself and others in grave danger. Due to my quick thinking and CDL training I was able to redirect traffic until I was able to move to safety. I have had my battery jumped at least 4 times within one week. I had it tested multiple times and it shows no issues. Only at Nissan did they say it could be the battery but not sure. Also no lights came on. My car has been maintenanced on time. This issue is very scary. This is my only means of transportation and serves as my designated vehicle for employment as well. Although there's no recall showing there's definitely an underlying issue that needs to be addressed and I'd hate to have that happen after a fatality or serious injury happens. My vehicle is only a little over a year old this shouldn't be happening. Please advise as to how this issue can be resolved and at little or no cost to me as I was informed that my car is in great condition aside from the major issue that I mentioned. I have almost been reared eneded and also almost did the same to others. There was also a time recently I drove thr6a bank drive through and immediately afterwards my car shut down and I had to get help. Please help me resolve this situation as it to me is high priority. The front passenger wheel turned out at a 45degree angle while going straight at 40mph causing loss of control and turning the car right into a curb. After looking the ball joint separated from the control arm

Vehicle has front axle clicking sounds when turning right or left. It also makes clicking sounds when driving over bumps or entering driveways(uneven concrete surfaces). I brought it to a Nissan Dealership several times and they acknowledged the issue. However, they have not been able to resolve the issue.

Started having problems within first two months of purchase, bought new in April 24. Charge ports stopped working. Also reported to dealer electric burn smell. Hesitate to start/stop with push button. Feels like loses power while driving. Rpms revs unexpectedly. Almost wrecked a few times due to this. Happens during continuous driving, not stop and go traffic. Sometimes when put in park, it will jerk hard. Sometimes when put in park and turn off, doors don’t unlock automatically. Car will jerk when starting at times. Forward collision light comes on often. Sounds like front rotors or something in the front rubs while driving. Auto engine off/on sometimes doesn’t work. The first time I took it to the dealer, they didn’t record their visual inspection. They blamed a lot of stuff on rodent nests. The second time I took it to the dealership, I made it a point to have the visual inspection recorded and sent to me. Surprise, no rodent nests found! Both inspections were completed in less than two hours even though I told them I could stay as long as needed. Since then, the burning smell has worsened.

To the best of my knowledg The front LH drive shaft came off the transaxle case leaving me no power of steering or breaking forcing me into the center divider. if this happened on a freeway driving speed limit or a busy street the accident would be fatal. Problem has been confirmed by Nissan themselves the year and make of my car has been recalled for this issue. A few days prior I did smell oil burning and was going to the issue looked at at the dealership unfortunately this accident or malfunction happened. There was no police report but the police did show up to make sure I was okay and they called the tow company affiliated with the department so I believe there's some record of it but no actual police report was made because I didn't feel that it was needed because no one was involved other than myself.
