Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Rogue, 2019-2020 Altima, 2019-2022 Infiniti QX50, and 2022 Infiniti QX55 vehicles equipped with 3-cylinder 1.5L or 4-cylinder 2.0L variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engines. The engine bearings may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine failure.

Risk: Engine failure increases the risk of a crash. A bearing failure may cause a breach in the engine block, allowing hot oil to be discharged, increasing the risk of an engine fire.

Risk: A loss of brake fluid may reduce braking performance, increasing the risk of crash.

SEAT BELTS: REAR/OTHER:BUCKLE ASSEMBLY

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Rogue vehicles. The rear seat belts for the left-hand and right-hand rear seats may not retract properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 208, "Occupant Crash Protection," and 209, "Seatbelt Assemblies."

Risk: Seat belts that do not retract properly may be difficult to operate, preventing their usage, which can increase the risk of injury in a crash.

FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021 Nissan Rogue vehicles. The fuel hose may not be secured in the proper position and the fuel tank lock ring may not be fully seated.

Risk: An improperly secured fuel hose may leak, increasing the risk of a fire. The fuel hose may also disconnect completely, causing the engine to stall and increasing the risk of a crash.

CHILD SEAT:VEHICLE TETHER ANCHOR

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021 Rogue vehicles. The second-row upper tether wires may have been improperly welded to the seatback frame, preventing a child seat from being securely anchored. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 225, "Child Restraint Anchorage Systems."

Risk: An insecurely anchored child seat can move during a sudden stop or crash, increasing the risk of injury.

WHEELS:LUGS/NUTS/BOLTS/STUDS

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021 Nissan Rogue vehicles. The incorrect wheel nuts may have been installed, and may loosen causing wheel vibration.

Risk: The wheel vibration may break the wheel studs and cause the wheel assembly to separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

The contact stated that the vehicle was difficult to start. The engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was jumpstarted to started. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The contact called the local dealer, who confirmed there were no recalls on the VIN related to the failure. The contact was provided with information about a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 58,344.

The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle failed to properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that after shifting from drive(D) and back, the failure had self-corrected; however, the failure later reoccurred. The contact stated that on several occasions during the failure, the vehicle was nearly crashed into. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure, and no cause for the failure was found. I had purchased a brand new 2021 Nissan Rouge SV AWD in 2021. I am now at 46,000 miles and I have had all system lights on and off since purchase. The first started with back hatch around 20 miles, went to go get it taken care of and it disappeared. I have broke down with electrical issues twice now, with error code of 'Warning Malfunction', 'forward collision warning', 'air bag', 'forward collision light' and 'check engine" on dash. On Sunday August 10 2025, I was driving on the highway at 70 MPH, and my vehicle slammed on the brakes automatically with kids in the car. Looking at the dashboard showed forward collision light, with no cars near me. I then went 35 MPH to get off nearest exit. I made it home safely with minor issues to kids neck from the brake issue. Yesterday on August 13 2025 I went to my local supermarket to get milk, and the car wouldn't start after I went shopping and showed a different error of 'Malfunction'. In the winter time the light of forward collision comes on, and I have no control over my vehicle at all. I then assumed I needed better tires and purchased them, however it made no difference. This SUV is very dangerous, and I am terrified to even drive it. The airbag light has now been on also, and in addition to yesterday's break down, the engine light is also on. I have an appointment again for my Nissan dealer now on Tuesday August 19 2025, and hoping this will be resolved. At 46,000 miles this should not be an issue, let alone danger my family. STEERING

When driving and going to turn the steering wheel locked up and vehicle stayed turning right. Had to force steering wheel back. After getting steering unlock it did it again when I was at stop sign. Also could hear noise is steering column. Steering wheel locked with no warning lamps or messages. Took vehicle to Nissan dealership. Dealership said it didn't lock up for them but they could hear the noise. Dealership took steering column apart and replaced steering column clock spring.

LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LOCK

Driver side rear door lock electrical actuator will not lock or unlock the door. Door has to be manually unlocked. In the event of an emergency, it will delay the egress of a passenger in the rear seat. The issue would make it near impossible to unlock the door in an emergency especially if it were submerged in water. This is a safety issue and has occurred on a number of these Nissan vehicles. The vehicle is available for inspection if requested.

Buttons to scroll through dash menu sticking and not working due to spring issue. I noticed this was a common problem and make it difficult to go through the menu to check my tire pressure, manage my driver assistance such as emergency braking and blind spot, and any other systems related to setting up my driving experience.

POWER TRAIN

The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the vehicle failed to shift into gear properly and vibrated abnormally. The contact also stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle jerked with the check engine and the CVT malfunction warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 127,587.

WHEELS

The tires seemed to be faulty from the date of purchase of the vehicle. Within 3 weeks of ownership I had to replace one tire, at 6 weeks-repair a flat on another tire, and within 3 months replaced another tire (possibly two, can’t quite recall with all the issues this vehicle has had) and fixed another flat on the existing tires again. To date there are only 27,000 miles on the vehicle and the tires are well past needing replaced. However, they were terrible and extremely unsafe from the beginning. When I had inquired with the dealer, they stated that the manufacturer parts are not always top of the line unfortunately, same response with the battery, and suggested I replace with higher quality. These parts shouldn’t be unsafe or require replacement with safer, higher-quality, or better-performing ones from the manufacturer, especially not in a brand-new vehicle.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

The battery was drained on several occasions starting just shy of a year of owning the vehicle, after recharging it would be fine and showed no signs that it needed replacing, until it was finally completely drained and wouldn’t start without being jumped in June 2025. The USM Configuration for the EEM recall was completed at this time along with a battery replacement. However, research suggests that issue could lead to draining of the battery, which the dealer denies was a possibility. These issues combined lead to all warning lights/lamps being produced on the display panel intermittently with a different message as to what the problem was each time. Turns out the only issue was the battery, according to the dealer. There have been several other issues I believe may be electrical related but unsure and when the taken to the dealership to have inspected was told the system just needed to be updated, however it has never fixed these issues, such as rearview backup camera screen black and not working intermittently and sometimes staying on while driving at higher speeds, screen in middle dash not responding to touch or buttons at random, doors automatically and unintentionally unlocked, doors not opening from the inside or outside on rare occasion, system in dash completely shutting down as if the vehicle was turned off and flashing before coming back up, vehicle not starting here and there while inside the vehicle or with key fob or app for remote start. All the random issues have been ongoing since the purchase of the vehicle, but told due to the dealer unable to recreate each problem, they are unable to actually identify what it is.

STRUCTURE:BODY

There are leaks at the corner of the top windshield through to the inside of the vehicle. Problem is reoccurring with rain and when vehicle is washed leaving the interior of the roof and side panel lining the windshield wet potential causing internal water damage to electrical components and creating mold and mildew buildup that is not yet visible. This creates an extreme health risk for the general population but especially for my child and myself who are highly allergic to mold and mildew. The outside of the vehicle appears to now be rusting due to this issue as well. This issue was first reported to the dealer within the first month or so of purchasing the vehicle in July of 2021 and taken in for inspection, along with several other issues, however was not noted on the service report for the technicians to inspect and was missed. Was officially inspected by the dealership in June 2025 and was told it is the roof rails that are leaking, this is a common issue, and likely was due to the vehicle being parked outside and probably had leaves trapped inside contributing to the leak, however this began within the first month of purchasing the vehicle new.

There were no warning lights or messages, and the issue did not resolve until I manually took control of acceleration. Safety Concern: I rely on cruise control regularly, and this unexpected disengagement created a dangerous situation that compromised my ability to safely maintain speed and respond to surrounding traffic. I’m concerned this may be a fault within the adaptive cruise control system or a misinterpretation by the forward-facing sensors.

The contact owned a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the steering wheel pulled to the right independently and the steering wheel was vibrating abnormally. The contact stated that the vehicle was towed to the residence. The contact was informed by the tow truck driver that the steering column had split in half. No warning light was illuminated. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the tie rod had split in half due to a heavy impact. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and informed the contact that representative would provide a call back. The failure mileage was 60,000.

AIR BAGS

I was in an accident with front and rear collision and damage and my airbags never deployed. I hydroplaned into the guardrail and hit the front of the vehicle completely and then was rear-ended with massive damage after I hit the guardrail.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Turned car on and it said engine malfunction reduced power. Turned car back off and on again, and the same message appeared. I drove the car home and let it sit. Turned it on later and message was gone.

I’m not exactly sure what is wrong but can only assume it would be engine or transmission related. While driving whether it’s city streets going 5 to 35 miles an hour or on the freeway with a speed limit of 75 at any moment while driving RPMs will shoot high and stay high until I am able to safely pull over Put the vehicle in park and then proceed back into drive. This has happened several times while on the freeway, which poses serious safety issues in pulling off a freeway safely, and has happened numerous times driving the city streets in my town. I took the vehicle in to be checked out And was told CVT transmissions are notorious for having issues, especially in this year make and model of vehicle. Shortly after having the vehicle serviced I see the article showing over 400,000 vehicles are being recalled for the same exact issue. I need to make sure that my car is included in that recall because it is the exact same issue and needs resolved as this is a fairly new vehicle and should not be having these issues or opposing danger to myself and my family When I have attempted to resolve the issue.

My 2021 Nissan Rogue has a major gas fume leak. When the vehicle sits at idle in a parking lot with all of the doors and windows closed, the gas fumes build up inside of the cabin of the vehicle. The fumes get so strong that it gives me migraines and makes me feel nauseous and to the point of almost passing out. Sometimes it's so bad you can still smell the fumes in the car the following day even after it's been turned off all night. I took it to the Nissan dealership and they said it's a known problem that cannot be fixed on these cars.

Contacted Nissan about the issue said there is nothing they can do even though they have other recalls on cars with the same problems, just not my model. I also feel as if other components of the car need to be checked to ensure upmost safe driving and functioning. Have photos of car in reverse but no display of any camera.

Resistance is not good and causes a draining battery… flickering lights, loss of power steering and slipping of gears. Mount is neither grounded and is experiencing a high pressurized leak. Dealership has noted leak at 20K and has considered services from the past at 46K. They note antifreeze/coolant but it is clearly transmission fluid. Wife is scared. Almost got in an accident with 2 year old baby and their parents due to jerking transmission on the road at 40K. Self serviced transmission fluid at 43k and have found very black burnt transmission fluid. No more road side assistance due to needed jump starts… Nissan claims it is the battery but this is 5th battery to be tested non-defective and new LIFEPO4 battery is saving lives but dealership refused to work on my car further until they see the OEM battery even if I use the original they want a new battery which will ultimately leave me stranded or loss of control unless driving over 100MPH in case of emergency? I have proof and images alongside a real forensic case. Dealership may be tampering with vehicle or vehicle did not pass inspection… electrical issues were prominent at first 1K but accused of “phantum burst” or leaving lights on… parasitic draw directly from alternator mount and transmission fluid at a high pressurized leak. Build quality looks like it was squeezed an good half inch to the right and components are overlapped when originally they weren’t. A/C lines poor seal. Vacuum leak in engine filter compartment resulting in undesirable dirt debris. Coolant becoming very brown more often… and components in the car not shutting off including stereo and settings in the dash. Casa has claimed to fix the “no-start condition” during a recall campaign but did not… requested 900 dollars for fluid change and new battery before looking at leak… flagstaff Nissan did miracles but did not note short

Nissan has a recall for the rear brake calipers for failure, but we were told that our VIN. number does not apply, yet they failed less that 100,000 and the front calipers are original. I was driving and the accelerator pedal got stuck and it started to increase my speed. I kept pressing on the pedal and it still was not working. I had to step on the brake pedal several times, like 5-6 times before the accelerator finally became unstuck.

STEERING

I was driving. I hit nothing. My steering traction light comes on, and the car starts pulling to the right. I go in the shop. There is a bend in my passenger inner tie rod. I took it to the dealer. they keep trying to get me to say I had an accident. I did not. Now they want to charge me 3500 to replace the whole steering rack because they "can't just purchase the inner tie rod". Which they can. MANY PEOPLE are having the same problem with their tie rods being faulty on these cars.

The back-up camera on my car no longer functions. When put in reverse, the back-up area appears gray and there is an X in it. The birds-eye view portion works on the sides and front, but the back is also gray and has an X in it. Other 2021 Nissan Rogues were recalled for this problem happening around the 50,000 mile mark. Mine was not one of them but I am thinking it probably should have been. No accidents have happened and I do know how to use mirrors to back up but this should not be happening. I would not report it if I had not seen that thousands of2021-22 Nissan Rogues had been recalled for this issue. I am putting the date as 5/1/25, but this happened intermittently when it was windy so I thought it had something to do with the wind. It completely stopped working on 5/1/25.

AC stopped working after winter passed even though AC button is on. Told no fluid leaks or other known issues. Was told IPDM needs replacement due to A/C INOPERATIVE WITH DTC B20C8-14 STORED IN THE IPDM E/R. Have found several other people online having the same problem. Nissan stating problem is only part of a service bulletin and therefore not a recall. Requesting further review/investigation since it seems to be a common issue on this model and in my opinion should be a recall. Passengers side inner tie rod end. With normal driving conditions and normal road conditions with bumps and holes bent. So much so the self driving system nor I could drive it without turning it hard left to try and keep it straight. I have pictures this tie rod end is much to small of a diameter to be in a position to Carry the load of front drive and steering wheels. Normal road conditions today are much to rough for this.
