ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2017 Nissan NV200, Sentra, NV3500 Van, NV3500 Bus, NV200 Taxi, NV1500, NV2500 Van, Chevrolet City Express, 2017-2018 Frontier, Versa Note, and Versa Sedan vehicles that have a mechanical (physical) key ignition system. In these models, over time, the weight on the key ring and road conditions or some other jarring event may cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position to the accessory position, turning off the engine.
Risk: If the vehicle stalls, it can increase the risk of a crash.

2017 NISSAN NV200
ID: 2115836ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
I understand there is a safety recall on other Nissan NV200's with regard to the ignition system. Where my van is not specifically listed in the recall, I have issues with the ignition switch turning and have to juggle it to get it into the start position. It does not instill confidence that I may not have a similar issue with my vehicl eand maybe it was missed in the recall batch? I called my local Nissan service department and they said they would need a half to full day to diagnose it and it would cost me $200. Are there then , good will considerations for getting this taken care of or included in the recall? I do not want to have a problem in the future but don't think I should have to pay to have it checked out and really don't have the extra money. It is detrimental as well to have a recall notice pop up on Kelly Blue Book when it is used by dealerships and others to determine value of the vehicle, even if this particular vin was not included. This has been an ongoing issue with my van since I purchased it in March.

The passenger side airbag deployed when I shut the door. My son was sitting in the seat. This incident could have been very harmful to my son. We had just had the airbag sensor repaired after waiting 6 months for it to arrive on back order. It was also replaced in 2021 under warranty, and in 2017 under a recall. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and available for inspection.
