Common Issues

  • Throttle delay. Drivers report a delay of several seconds before the vehicle responds when accelerating from a complete stop, creating potential safety risks in traffic.

Recalls

  • Driver air bag inflator. Recall 24V154000 affects 351 vehicles due to a manufacturing defect causing moisture absorption in the inflator. This may cause improper air bag deployment, increasing injury risk during collisions. Dealers will replace the front driver’s air bag assembly free of charge. Owner notifications were mailed April 10, 2024.
  • Right headlight assembly. Recall 24V582000 covers 1119 vehicles with missing or illegible headlight aim markings, resulting in improperly aimed headlights and reduced driver visibility. Dealers will inspect and replace the right headlight if necessary at no cost. Owner letters sent September 20, 2024.
  • Front right lower link ball joint. Recall 24V479000 involves 5929 vehicles with an oversized ball joint that may corrode and separate, causing loss of steering control. Dealers will replace the affected part free of charge. Owner letters mailed August 15, 2024.

Owners encountering repeated repairs or unresolved recall issues should consider their rights under state lemon laws. Those affected by safety defects, such as steering control loss or air bag malfunctions, may want to seek legal guidance on possible next steps.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Several times since I purchased this vehicle new I have experienced throttle delay from a standing position. (Example) While stopped at a red ;light or a stop sign or trying to accelerate from a stopped position into oncoming traffic there is a throttle delay of a few seconds. In other words I step on the gas peddle and nothing happens. After 2 or 3 seconds the throttle picks up and the car starts to move. This is in my opinion a very serious problem because a few second delay could result in a major accident if trying to accelerate into oncoming traffic. I brought this to the attention of the nissan dealership service dept. only to be told that there is no defect found. I checked (on line) and found that other people with this vehicle have experienced the same problem. I would appreciate you investigating this serious condition. Your next question on when this condition occurs cannot be answered because it's an ongoing issue. I'll just put a date Thank you

STRUCTURE:INTERIOR PANELS:SUN VISOR

The contact owns a 2024 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that while unhooking the driver’s side sun visor to block the sun, the sun visor swung back and struck the contact in the face. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the failure was acknowledged; however, the contact was informed that a replacement part was on backorder. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was given the same information as the dealer. The contact stated that due to a medical condition and the medication needed to treat the condition, he must be examined by a medical professional whenever his body gets hit, to ensure that he remains in good health. The contact had sent several emails to the manufacturer for updates and received replies that there was no update on an ETA for the part. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 200.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Since I purchased this vehicle (2024 Nissan Frontier) in October 2023 I have complained to the dealership of a hesitation from a stopped position. The hesitation of a few seconds occurs only if from a stopped position. If at a stopped position and trying to accelerate into traffic there is a few second delay for the vehicle to respond. This delay on several occasions has caused me to nearly have a collision. When brought to the attention of the dealership (twice) I was told the transmission is looking for the proper gear and this is normal. In my experience of driving for over 50 years this is the first car that I have ever had with this condition. In my opinion this is a major safety concern. When I expect the car to move it doesn't. There are no warning lamps illuminated. My safety and the safety of my passengers are at risk with this vehicle. Both my son's drove the vehicle and stated that they also experienced the hesitation. I also googled this condition and found others having the same problem and the dealerships reporting NDF (no defect found) I would appreciate your assistance in this matter.

It was around 15 degrees outside and I was pulling the truck into my garage to warm it up and the brakes didn't work correctly and I ran into a trash can and destroyed the front grill causing over a $1000 in repairs. No warning lights were on.
