Recalls- Transmission shift control bracket. Recall 15V713000 affects 93 vehicles. The shift cable bracket and adjustment may allow shifting out of PARK without applying brakes. This increases the risk of unintended vehicle movement and crashes. Ford dealers replace the shift control bracket and adjust the cable free of charge.
- Parking brake foot pedal assembly. Recall 15V642000 affects 86 vehicles. The parking brake actuator may be out of calibration causing failure to hold the vehicle or incomplete disengagement when released. This may lead to rollaway or wheel end fire. Dealers replace the foot pedal assembly at no cost.
- Loose power connection at ATS. Recall 17V830000 affects 2,915 vehicles from 2016 through 2018 models. A loose connection at the Automatic Transfer Switch can cause heat buildup in wiring, increasing fire risk. Dealers inspect and tighten the connection free of charge.
- Kidde fire extinguishers. Recall 17V809000 affects 34,699 vehicles from 1995 to 2018 models. Certain plastic-handle or push button extinguishers may clog, require excessive force, or have nozzle detachment risk causing injury or extinguisher failure. Owners receive replacement extinguishers from Kidde free of charge.
Owners with persistent failures related to these safety defects or unresolved recall repairs may have rights under their state’s lemon law. Consulting an attorney who specializes in lemon law could help clarify available remedies.
