There are multiple recalls addressing defects that affect key safety and operational systems. These recalls involve steering components, fuel system leaks, drivetrain failures, transmission malfunctions, and seat belt problems.
Recalls- Steering column. Recall 22V943000 affects 746 vehicles due to a connection issue in the upper steering shaft that may become loose. This defect risks loss of steering control which increases the chance of a crash. Dealers will replace the steering column and shaft components at no charge.
- Fuel rail leak. Recall 21V365000 impacts 3,600 vehicles with sealing washers that may not seat correctly, allowing diesel fuel to leak. The risk of fire increases if fuel contacts an ignition source. Inspections and replacements of the fuel rail are performed free of charge.
- Driveshaft end-caps. Recall 18V155000 covers 979 buses where plastic end-caps on the driveshaft slip yoke may crack and fail. Such failure causes loss of drive power, increasing crash risk. Inspection and replacement of affected driveshafts are provided at no cost.
- Transmission pressure switches. Recall 18V615000 applies to 386 vehicles with Allison transmission hybrid drive units whose pressure switches may fail, resulting in unexpected loss of drive and potential crashes. The faulty switches will be replaced free of charge through authorized service centers.
- Seat belt buckles. Recall 17V539000 involves 214 buses with Recaro driver seats where the seat belt buckle can become stuck in the locked position, preventing proper latching. This hazard elevates injury risk by potentially allowing operation without a fastened seat belt. Buckle housings will be replaced free of charge.
Owners dealing with repeated repairs, defective safety systems, or unresolved recall issues may have rights under their state’s lemon law. Consulting a consumer protection attorney specializing in lemon law may provide guidance on potential legal remedies.
