2007 NEW FLYER D40LF Complaints and Recall Information
The 2007 NEW FLYER D40LF has 0 complaints and 5 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report issues related to the driveline and door latch mechanisms based on recall data. No direct complaints have been submitted by owners.
The vehicle is subject to five recalls addressing various safety and structural components. These recalls involve the driveline, door latches, structural integrity of access panels, and suspension systems.
Recalls- Driveshaft access panel weakness. (NHTSA Recall 10V089000) Affects 1,845 vehicles. The access panel above the driveshaft inside the passenger compartment may fail to prevent debris from entering if the driveshaft breaks. This could cause injury or death. Dealers will add energy-absorbing honeycomb material under the panel free of charge.
- Output flange bolt fatigue. (NHTSA Recall 11V407000) Affects 247 vehicles. The three bolts securing the output flange on the ISE propulsion system can fail, causing the driveshaft to separate from the vehicle. This separation poses a risk of injury or property damage. Dealers will inspect and replace the bolts at no cost.
- Rear side exit door latch failure. (NHTSA Recall 11V237000) Affects 1,123 vehicles. Insufficient engagement in teeter lever assemblies may cause the rear side exit door to malfunction, risking passenger falls if leaned on or forced. Repairs will be performed free of charge through the manufacturer and New Flyer.
- Drive shaft access panel insufficient strength. (NHTSA Recall 12V591000) Affects 2,048 vehicles. The panel may be weak or improperly secured, allowing debris entry upon driveshaft failure, which could injure passengers. Dealers will install a steel plate beneath the panel at no cost.
- Cracked front axle beams. (NHTSA Recall 17V130000) Affects 2,357 vehicles. MAN V8-65L axle beams may develop cracks that can eventually cause failure, risking loss of vehicle control and increased crash risk. Dealers will inspect and repair axle beams as needed without charge.
Owners dealing with repeated repairs or unresolved recall issues involving safety defects may have rights under their state’s lemon law. Consultation with a qualified attorney may help determine available remedies.
