2014 NABI 40LFW Complaints and Recall Information
The 2014 NABI 40LFW has 0 complaints and 8 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most commonly report issues related to fuel system components and safety equipment based on recall data.
There are multiple recalls affecting various components on this vehicle. The recalls primarily impact fuel system parts, including compressed natural gas (CNG) tanks and pressure relief devices, as well as steering linkages and driver seats.
- Fuel system tank abrasion. NHTSA recall 14V517000 affects 370 vehicles. CNG tanks may be abraded by pressure relief devices (PRDs) mounted adjacent to the tanks. This contact could cause a CNG leak and increase fire risk. Dealers will install a temporary flexible cover; a permanent fix is pending.
- CNG fuel cylinder interference. Recall 14V143000 covers 241 vehicles where a bolt on the latch assembly may contact and damage the CNG fuel cylinder. Potential fuel leaks can create fire hazards. Dealers will eliminate the interference free of charge.
- Tie rod nut torque. Recall 15V129000 affects 63 buses with improperly torqued front axle tie rod nuts. Loose nuts could lead to loss of vehicle control and crash risk. Dealers will re-torque the nuts at no cost.
- Pressure relief device failure. Recall 15V485000 involves 70 vehicles. Some PRDs may fail to vent pressure buildup in CNG tanks during fire exposure, raising explosion and injury risk. Defective PRDs will be replaced free of charge.
- Driver seat anchorage. Recall 16V038000 covers 4,848 buses, including 2014 40LFW models, with Recaro Ergo-M driver seats. Missing welds on J-Brackets may detach seat belt anchorages, decreasing crash protection. Replacement brackets will be provided at no cost.
Owners dealing with repeated repairs or unresolved recall issues involving safety defects may have rights under their state lemon laws. Consulting with an attorney experienced in consumer protection and lemon law claims could provide guidance on potential remedies.

FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY:PRESSURE RELIEF DEVICES
New Flyer Industries Ltd. (New Flyer) is recalling certain model year 2014 NABI 42BRT transit buses manufactured from December 19, 2014, through June 6, 2015, and 2014-2015 NABI 40LFW transit buses manufactured from September 11, 2014, through June 3, 2015. The affected buses are powered with compressed natural gas (CNG) and are equipped with pressure relief devices (PRD) that may not function as designed, failing to vent a buildup of pressure, such as could occur if the CNG tank was exposed to fire.
Risk: If the PRD does not activate in the event of a build up of pressure, the CNG tank may explode, increasing the risk of fire and injury.
