Micro DOT Helmet Co. (Micro DOT) is recalling certain Blister and Twister original helmets, sizes XXS - XXL. The helmets may lack proper penetration protection. As such, these helmets fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 218, "Motorcycle Helmets."
Risk: A helmet that does not provide adequate protection increases the risk of injury during a crash.

The contact owns a Micro Dot Twister helmet, Model type: KY-609, Manufactured Date: November 2020. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25E040000 (EQUIPMENT). The contact had not experienced a failure. The manufacturer was notified of the issue and advised the contact that the helmet needed to be destroyed first by the contact. The contact was then advised to show proof that the helmet was demolished or that that straps were cut for the manufacturer to replace the helmet. The contact was informed by the manufacturer that the replacement helmet would be sent after 60-days. The contact was not satisfied with the response from the manufacturer.
