Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2022-2024 T-Series school buses equipped with a anti-vandal lock on the rear emergency door. The ignition interlock may allow the vehicle to start when the rear emergency door is locked after the key has been inserted in the ignition. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."

Risk: An emergency exit door that is locked can prevent or delay occupants from exiting the vehicle during an emergency, increasing the risk of injury.
