Recalls- Driver air bag inflator. Recall 19V003000 affects 71,301 vehicles. The inflator may explode due to propellant degradation after long-term exposure to humidity and temperature changes. This can cause sharp metal fragments to injure occupants. Dealers will replace the driver air bag module free of charge.
- Power steering return hose. Recall 20V663000 affects 47,667 vehicles. The hydraulic return line hoses may detach causing fluid leaks and sudden power steering loss, increasing crash risk. Dealers will inspect and repair hose connections at no cost.
- Tire pressure label. Recall 16V093000 affects 2,278 vehicles. The label incorrectly states a higher maximum load than designed, risking axle or tire failure if overloaded. Labels will be replaced by dealers free of charge.
- Air bag control unit. Recall 17V093000 affects 15,338 vehicles. The unit lacks a reinforcement plate and bracket, which may prevent deployment of additional airbags after initial impact. Dealers will install the missing components free of charge.
- Passenger air bag inflator. Recall 19V004000 affects 88,388 vehicles. The inflator may explode during deployment due to propellant degradation, risking injury from metal fragments. Dealers will replace the passenger air bag module free of charge.
- Foldaway seat latch. Recall 19V238000 affects 12 vehicles. The seat back may not remain locked when upright, increasing injury risk in a crash. Owners must contact the seat manufacturer for a free repair kit.
- Fire extinguisher malfunction. Recall 17V786000 affects 550 vehicles. Certain Kidde extinguishers may clog or require excessive force to operate; nozzles may detach causing injury and non-functionality. Extinguishers will be replaced free of charge.
- Roof crash pads. Recall 16V351000 affects 3 vehicles. Missing crash pads on super-high roof models increase injury risk to unbelted front passengers. Dealers will install the required crash pads at no cost.
- Window separation risk. Recall 16V261000 affects 55 vehicles. Multiple paint layers may cause windows to separate during crashes, increasing injury risk. Dealers will inspect, remove windows, and repaint as needed free of charge.
- Fuel tank protection. Recalls 17V092000 and 17V094000 affect 2 vehicles each. Missing protective plate and driveshaft catch strap may allow fuel leaks after impact, increasing fire risk. Dealers will replace the fuel tank and install the catch strap free of charge.
Owners who face repeated repairs, unresolved recall issues, or safety defects may want to review their rights under state lemon laws. These protections could provide remedies depending on the nature of ongoing problems.

STEERING:HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST:HOSE, PIPING, AND CONNECTIONS
Daimler Vans USA, LLC (DVUSA) is recalling certain 2015-2020 Mercedes Benz Sprinter and Freightliner Sprinter vehicles. The hydraulic power steering return line hoses may detach at their connection points under certain operating conditions, causing hydraulic fluid to leak.
Risk: The sudden loss of power steering assist and hydraulic steering fluid leaking onto the roadway may increase the risk of a crash.
2015 MERCEDES-BENZ SPRINTER 2500
71301 vehicles affected
AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:DRIVER SIDE:INFLATOR MODULE
Daimler Vans USA, LLC (DVUSA) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Freightliner Sprinter 2500 and 3500 and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 and 3500 vehicles. These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the driver frontal air bag modules used as original equipment or replacement equipment. In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver frontal air bag, these inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling.
Risk: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.

SEATS
Vantage Mobility International, LLC (Vantage) is recalling certain 2015-2018 Ford Transit Van, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, and 2007 Ford F-250-based shuttle vehicles equipped with Freedman GO-3S foldaway seats. When the back seat cushion is rotated from the stowed position to the upright position, the seat cushion may not remain locked into place when under load, such as in a crash or a sudden stop.
Risk: In the event of a crash, if the seat back moves, the seat occupant has an increased risk of injury.
2015 MERCEDES-BENZ SPRINTER 2500
88388 vehicles affected
AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:PASSENGER SIDE:INFLATOR MODULE
Daimler Vans USA, LLC (DVUSA) is recalling certain 2014-2017 Freightliner Sprinter 2500 and 3500 and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 and 3500 vehicles. These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules used as original equipment or replacement equipment. In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger frontal air bag, these inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling.
Risk: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.

EQUIPMENT
Midwest Automotive Designs, LLC (Midwest) is recalling certain Custom Vans and Camper Van recreational vehicles built on 2014-2017 Mercedes Benz Sprinter chassis and 2016-2017 RAM Promaster chassis. These vehicles are equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' fire extinguishers that may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf
Risk: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.

POWER TRAIN:DRIVELINE:DRIVESHAFT
Daimler Vans USA, LLC (DVUSA) is recalling certain 2015 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 and 3500 vehicles. The affected vehicles were manufactured without a driveshaft catch strap, allowing a loose driveshaft to strike the fuel tank. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 301, "Fuel System Integrity."
Risk: A loose driveshaft may strike and puncture the gas tank, resulting in a fuel leak, increasing the risk of a fire.
