2014 MERCEDES-BENZ AMG ML63 Complaints and Recall Information
The 2014 MERCEDES-BENZ AMG ML63 has 1 complaint and 14 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report ongoing oil leaks despite repairs performed under a prior recall. One complaint highlights that Mercedes dealers have not identified the exact cause and have declined warranty coverage for the continuing issue.
Common Issues
- Oil leak persistence. The vehicle fails oil consumption tests due to ongoing oil leaks that continue after attempts to repair under recall 18V272. Dealers report the leak may stem from an issue outside warranty or recall coverage but have not identified the precise problem.
There are 14 recalls related to various systems including fuel delivery, communication, and suspension components. These recalls address potential safety hazards such as engine stalls, inaccurate emergency call data, and fire risks linked to suspension oil leaks.
Recalls
- Fuel pump control unit. NHTSA recall 22V955000 affects 348,183 vehicles including the 2014 AMG ML63. Water may accumulate in the spare tire well damaging the fuel pump control unit and causing engine stalls while driving, raising crash risk. Dealers will install a water drain plug, inspect for water intrusion, and replace the control unit if needed at no cost.
- Emergency call system software. Recall 19V787000 covers 24,226 vehicles from model years 2013-2017. A software fault may cause the emergency call system to relay incorrect date and time data, potentially delaying emergency response. Mercedes performs over-the-air updates or dealer software fixes free of charge.
- Active Curve System (ACS) suspension oil leak. Recall 18V272000 involves 9,725 vehicles including the 2014 AMG ML63 equipped with ACS. Low oil levels in the ACS reservoir can cause foaming and leaks from the reservoir cap vent holes. Leaked oil near ignition sources increases fire risk. Dealers will adjust oil levels and replace reservoir caps to prevent leaks at no cost.
Owners facing repeated repairs or unresolved safety recalls may have rights under state lemon laws. Consulting with legal counsel is advised when persistent defects or multiple recall compliance issues affect vehicle safety or usability.

Vehicle failed oil consumption test. Vehicle has been leaking and/or losing oil for months despite the issue being alleged fixed under NHTSA recall 18V272. The issue is ongoing and Mercedes Jacksonville is claiming the oil leak is from another issue not covered under warranty or recall order. I do not believe they are unrelated and they have not been able to identify the exact issue.
