CHILD SEAT

Dorel Juvenile Group (Dorel) is recalling certain Safety 1st onBoard 35 Secure Tech, Safety 1st Secure Tech Infant Base, Maxi-Cosi Coral XP, Maxi-Cosi Mico XP Max, Maxi-Cosi Mico XP, Maxi-Cosi Mico Luxe+, and Maxi-Cosi Infant Base child seats. Please refer to Dorel's recall report for specific model numbers. The lower seat anchors used to secure the child seat base may fail, allowing the child seat to detach. As such, these child seats fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 213, "Child Restraint Systems."

Risk: A detached child seat may not properly restrain the occupant, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.

Tether, Lower Anchor (on car seat or vehicle)

I am reporting a defective Maxi-Cosi Mico Luxe infant car seat. The seat exhibits the following defects: -The Maxi-Cosi Mico Luxe car seat's design causes the seatbelt to press against my baby's inner thighs, resulting in significant pain and discomfort, with no adjustable solution to prevent this harsh pressure - The foam padding on the back of the car seat has detached from the seat's shell, compromising the seat's structural integrity. - Difficulty disconnecting the car seat from its base, raising concerns about its ease of use in emergency situations. - The car seat anchors have disconnected from the vehicle on multiple occasions, compromising the seat's secure installation. Despite my reports of these defects, Dorel Juvenile has denied their existence. However, I am aware that other parents have reported similar defects and claim that Dorel Juvenile has been unresponsive to their concerns. I urge NHTSA to investigate this matter and ensure Dorel Juvenile addresses these safety concerns. I can provide evidence of these defects upon request.
