Carry Handle, Shell, Base

The carseat padding/fabric at the top of the carseat can become loose during use, causing a suffocation risk to a child secured in the carseat. The loose fabric may fall onto a child's face while the vehicle is being operated or during any other use and block the child's airway. The fabric is not able to be rescued meaning once the fabric has detached there is a continued risk of suffocation anytime a child is secured in the seat. The locks that attach the shell of the carseat to the base are faulty and do not release when the release button is pushed.

Carry Handle, Shell, Base

The car seat insert/styrofoam came apart. I had to file reports for this car seat 2 times. Went through 2 of the same car seats in the span of a year. 2 separate car seats of the same model and different manufacture dates. Filed 1st complaint August 2024 for one car seat and a 2nd complaint for the replacement I received in July 2025- a few weeks ago. I have since then received a 3rd car seat.

Other/I am not sure

Infant carrier would not release from base. Release handle on back of carrier would only lift up half way. Squeezing release handle should pivot two metal hooks that attach carrier to base and when you squeeze handle only one hook would pivot making it impossible to detach carrier. This caused seat to be temporarily stuck in vehicle until we could lift it halfway off base to open lock off and release seat belt. Could not use lower anchors as an alternative as carrier has to be removed from base to be able to lengthen lower anchors. We (CPSTs) reported incident to manufacturer by calling customer service. Parents requested refund for purchase. Maxi Cost Mico Luxe+ Model: IC384GKE Manufacture Date: 12/2024

Carry Handle, Shell, Base

Car seat is stuck to the base. The car seat release latch to remove it from the base is jammed and nonfunctional. Seek help from local sheriffs department to resolve the issue and they encouraged me to report to NHTSA.
