Dorel Juvenile Group (Dorel) is recalling certain Safety 1st onBoard 35 Secure Tech, Safety 1st Secure Tech Infant Base, Maxi-Cosi Coral XP, Maxi-Cosi Mico XP Max, Maxi-Cosi Mico XP, Maxi-Cosi Mico Luxe+, and Maxi-Cosi Infant Base child seats. Please refer to Dorel's recall report for specific model numbers. The lower seat anchors used to secure the child seat base may fail, allowing the child seat to detach. As such, these child seats fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 213, "Child Restraint Systems."
Risk: A detached child seat may not properly restrain the occupant, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.

Dorel Juvenile Group (Dorel) is recalling certain Maxi-Cosi Coral XP Rear-facing Infant Seats with model number IC313. The child seat inner carrier is not sufficient to restrain a child without the use of the outer carrier. As such, these child seats fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 213, "Child Restraint Systems."
Risk: In the event of a crash, an insufficiently restrained child has an increased risk of injury.

I purchased a Maxi-Cosi Coral XP Infant Car Seat (Model IC313FNC), which is part of NHTSA Recall #23C003. Dorel Juvenile Group's official recall notice (RCONL-23C003-1752) states that affected owners will receive a refund or replacement car seat free of charge upon contact. No mention is made of a destruction video or retaining the product. I contacted Dorel and submitted: A valid Amazon order receipt with my name and purchase date The product registration card showing model number and manufacture date Instructional materials and documentation from the original packaging Several time-stamped personal photos showing myself and my family using the seat, including hospital departure A redacted copy of my son’s birth certificate showing me as the parent to confirm the identity and timeline of the photos Despite all of this, Dorel has denied my refund solely because I no longer have the physical seat to destroy on video — a requirement that was never disclosed in the official recall materials and was only introduced through back-and-forth customer service emails. I acted in good faith and disposed of the recalled product for safety, believing I was following the spirit of the recall. I believe this handling violates the public terms of the recall and places unfair barriers on consumers who complied responsibly.
