Maserati North America, Inc. (Maserati) is recalling certain 2018 Maserati Quattroporte, Ghibli, and Levante vehicles. The welds on the front sub frame may be incomplete, which can result in the welds breaking.
Risk: If the welds fracture, it can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

The contact called 911. The contact stated she did not sustain any injuries. No medical attention was required. The contact stated that a fire report was filed, and the fire department was able to extinguish the fire. No police report was filed. The contact was relating her failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V046000 (SEATS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and they informed her that the matter would be escalated for a possible buyback, and advised the contact to reach out to the insurance provider. The contact mentioned the vehicle was still at her residence. The approximate failure mileage was 170,000.
