Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2023 Toyota Corolla, Corolla Cross, Corolla Cross Hybrid, Highlander, Highlander Hybrid, Tacoma, Lexus RX350, 2023-2024 NX250, and NX350 vehicles that may have been incorrectly repaired under previous NHTSA recall number 23V-480. An electrical connection inside the steering column's spiral cable assembly may be insufficiently welded, causing the connection to separate and deactivate the driver's air bag. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

Risk: A deactivated driver's air bag will not deploy as intended, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2018 Camry, 2019 Lexus NX300, and 2019 RX350L vehicles. The low-pressure fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.

Risk: Fuel pump failure can cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.

SEAT BELTS:REAR/OTHER:WEBBING

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2025 Toyota Camry Hybrid, Lexus NX250, NX350, NX350 Hybrid, 2024-2025 Lexus RX350, RX350 Hybrid, and RX500 Hybrid vehicles. The second-row center seat belt webbing may be damaged. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies."

Risk: A damaged seat belt may not adequately restrain an occupant, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

SEATS:FRONT ASSEMBLY:HEAD RESTRAINT

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2024 Lexus RX 350, RX 350h, 2024-2025 NX 250, NX 350, and NX 350h vehicles. The head restraints on the driver and front passenger seats may be inadvertently removed without pressing the lock release button. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) Number 202, "Head Restraints."

Risk: A head restraint that is inadvertently removed and not reinstalled can increase the risk of injury during a rear-end crash.

SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS:DISC:CALIPER

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2024 RAV4 and 2025 Lexus NX vehicles. Some of the bolts that secure the front brake caliper and the wheel hub bearing may be loose, which can result in a damaged caliper brake hose or possible wheel detachment.

Risk: A damaged brake line can cause a brake fluid leak, reducing brake performance and increasing the distance required to stop the vehicle. Wheel detachment can result in a loss of vehicle control. Either condition increases the risk of a crash.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER

Two year old 22500 miles. Driving down the highway doing around 75 and my sunroof blew up. Just exploded. Nothing hit it, temperature was around 70 degrees. Was about 10 miles into my morning commute. Nothing could have caused this. No impacts, no odd temperature fluctuations. Just a glass failure.

Rear window spontaneously exploded while pulling into my garage.

On [XXX] my Lexus would not start properly and then I heard noises which were associated with the battery closing down. This included locking all the doors. I was trapped in the car for 50-60 minutes until a repair person unlocked the door. This is a safety issue because the temperature where I live (las Vegas) is over 100 degrees months of the year. According to other Lexus owners, mine was a somewhat common experience. Some people have had the battery fail while driving. A recall to fix the problem is needed. When I contacted both corporate Lexus and my dealer they played dumb and told me to drive the car more often, but no one could specify how much that would be. Vehicle: 2024 Lexus NX 450h+ (plug-in hybrid) Odometer at latest event: ~14,600 miles Dealer: Motor City Lexus of Bakersfield (Bakersfield, CA) Lexus Corporate Case #: 250823001008 Complaint Description: While driving, the vehicle suddenly lost all electrical power without warning on two separate occasions, causing the instrument cluster to go dark and an immediate loss of power steering and brake assist. I had to coast to a stop—this is a serious crash risk. Timeline of events: • 08/20/2025 – In-motion total electrical blackout with loss of steering/brake assist at approximately [speed] mph. • 08/21/2025 – Dealer replaced the 12-volt battery. • 08/23/2025 – Repeat in-motion blackout with my children in the vehicle; dash went dark, loss of steering/brake assist, coasted to a stop. • After 08/23/2025 (at dealer) – During diagnostic testing, a dealer technician reproduced the same failure (total electrical power loss while moving, dash dark, loss of steering/brake assist). This confirms a repeatable safety defect. • There have also been three additional immobilizations that required Lexus Roadside Assistance on other dates. Current status: Vehicle remains at the dealer for the second repair attempt. I am within the 18-month window from delivery (Mar/Apr 2024). Safety concern / suspected area: Sudden total electrical loss while driving with loss of steering/brake assist. Please investigate potential defects in the 12-V/DC-DC charging system, hybrid/electrical system (inverter/DC-DC/grounding), main fusible link, or related wiring/connectors/grounds that could cause complete power loss while the vehicle is in motion.

ENGINE

The contact owns a 2016 Lexus NX 200T. The contact discovered oil dripping on the surface of her garage floor underneath the vehicle. Due to the failure, the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who discovered that there was a rear main seal engine oil leak between the engine and the transmission. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 84,000.
