2013 LEXUS LX Complaints and Recall Information

The 2013 LEXUS LX has 5 complaints and 0 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report issues related to severe rust damage and problems with the Automatic Height Control system affecting traction control and ABS. Common Issues

  • Severe rust damage. Rust has spread extensively to the frame and suspension parts with only 71,000 miles, rendering the vehicle unrepairable compared to its value and creating safety concerns.
  • Hidden rust during maintenance. Lexus dealerships allegedly failed to disclose rust issues during regular service visits and declined warranty coverage for rust problems, especially after extended warranty expiration.
  • Automatic Height Control system faults. Warning light activation causes traction control and ABS systems to malfunction repeatedly within short periods.
  • Traction control system failure. The traction control light flashes, causing the vehicle to hesitate and fail to move properly on inclines, requiring slow driving to prevent wheel spin and noise.
  • Unexpected abrupt braking. Vehicle comes to sudden stops during gentle braking on uphill highway exits, surprising the driver and surrounding traffic and leading to dangerous situations.

SUSPENSION

When Automatic Height Control system check warning light comes ON, both LX570 traction control system and ABS behave strangely. This happened three time in one day. When the vehicle was in standing in an uphill to join the road, during acceleration, traction control system light starts to splash, vehicle would not move and hesitates. One has to drive slowly to avoid wheels spinning and making noise. When exiting from one highway and trying to join another highway in an uphill exit, when the brake is applied gently to control my speed, vehicle came to abrupt stop surprising myself and the 4 vehicles behind so much so that behind vehicles has to swerve hitting my car. Never seen this problem before.
