2023 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SPORT Complaints and Recall Information
The 2023 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SPORT has 4 complaints and 19 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report issues with accelerator lag and sudden uncontrolled forward movement. There are also reports of complete electrical power loss after receiving electric fault messages.
Common Issues- Accelerator lag. The vehicle delays about 10 seconds before moving when the accelerator is pressed lightly, requiring about 40% throttle to engage immediately, but this causes sudden uncontrolled forward jumps.
- Electric traction motor failure. Owners report the traction motor intermittently fails to engage, with the problem worsening over time despite battery charging.
- Electrical power loss. Vehicles lose all electrical power suddenly after an electric fault message, resulting in loss of power steering, lighting, and roadside assistance functions.
- DC to DC converter short. The low voltage to high voltage converter shorts out, allowing the LiFo battery to drain to zero volts without replacement of the battery.
There are 19 recalls affecting various systems including exterior lighting, engine lubrication, and interior latches. These recalls address issues that impair vehicle visibility, increase fire risk, and involve occupant protection during crashes.
Recalls- Exterior lighting failure. NHTSA Recall 23V871000 affects 4,347 vehicles with moisture accumulation causing failure of right-side exterior lights including brake and turn signals, increasing crash risk. Dealers will replace the affected lights free of charge.
- Engine oil leak. Recall 23V044000 covers 6,724 vehicles where the engine cam carrier oil channel may be blocked, causing oil leaks that can increase fire risk. Dealers will inspect and replace components as needed at no cost.
- Incorrect taillights. Recall 23V251000 affects 5 vehicles equipped with incorrect rear taillights that fail to illuminate properly, reducing visibility and increasing crash risk. Dealers will inspect and replace taillights free of charge.
- Armrest latch failure. Recall 23V324000 impacts 12,587 vehicles where the second-row seat armrest storage latch may fail, leaving objects unsecured during crashes and increasing injury risk. Dealers will replace the latch free of charge.
Owners facing repeated repairs from electrical system failures or those affected by these recalls may have protections under their state lemon laws. Those with unresolved safety defect issues should consider consulting legal resources specific to vehicle consumer rights.

My vehicle as well received an electric fault message shortly before loosing all electrical power. When I say all I mean all as if someone removed the battery from the car. The issue that was described to me from the service department was the low voltage (12v) to high voltage (48v) I think dc to dc converter shorted out. They said this was the first device after the battery and contained all the battery saftey circuits. It allowed the LiFo battery to reach zero volts and they didn't replace the battery afterwards. When this happened I lost all power steering, lights, ability to use the roadside assistance.

My vehicle lags using the accelerator. If you press the gas it taskes 10 seconds for the vehicle to begin moving unless you give it around 40% accelerator then it jumps uncontrollably forward. This happens everyday. I drive this vehicle constantly and the more I drive it the worse it gets. I feel the electric traction motor doesn't engage because of any number of reasons. I bring it to the shop and they charge the battery. After that it works fine for a few days then begins again.
