2014 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER EVOQUE Complaints and Recall Information

The 2014 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER EVOQUE has 6 complaints and 2 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report issues involving rapid unintended acceleration and problems with the active suspension system. Several reports mention the turbo charger engaging independently along with the illumination of the check engine warning light. Stability control failures have also been reported repeatedly.

Common Issues
  • Unintended acceleration. Vehicle accelerates rapidly at about 45 MPH when the accelerator pedal is depressed, accompanied by rapid shifting.
  • Turbocharger malfunctions. Turbo charger engages independently without driver input and triggers the check engine warning light.
  • Active suspension failure. Suspension and shock absorbers do not respond over dips or when turning; no warning lights illuminate for suspension issues.
  • Stability control loss. Stability control system becomes unavailable, reported multiple times by owners.

Two recalls affect this vehicle. The recalls involve rear suspension components and the automatic transmission system. The suspension recall addresses hardware defects while the transmission recall focuses on software and wiring issues.

Recalls
  • Rear suspension bolts. (NHTSA Recall 14V155000) Affects 2 vehicles produced between November 27 and December 4, 2013. Bolts connecting the right rear suspension link arm may be damaged during production, risking link arm separation and loss of control. Land Rover will replace the bolts free of charge starting April 28, 2014.
  • Automatic transmission sensor. (NHTSA Recall 16V614000) Covers 10,455 vehicles from 2014 to 2015 production years. Insufficient crimps in the transmission wiring harness can cause the transmission to shift to neutral unexpectedly, increasing crash risk. Dealers will inspect serial numbers and update transmission software as needed at no cost, with the recall beginning October 14, 2016.

Owners with repeated repairs related to acceleration issues, suspension failures, or unresolved recall repairs may have rights under state lemon laws. Consulting a qualified attorney familiar with lemon law cases can provide guidance on possible actions.
