Common Issues- Inverter coolant warning. Multiple owners report a persistent "Refill Inverter Coolant" light that appears on the dashboard and remains despite repeated service attempts over several months.
There are two recalls affecting this vehicle, which involve the rearview camera system and the electric power control unit’s coolant system. These recalls address issues that impact safety-related systems including driver visibility and propulsion system functionality.
Recalls- Rearview camera system. Recall 25V426000 affects 11,327 vehicles. The circuit board in the rearview camera may become damaged causing the image not to display, which reduces rear visibility and increases crash risk. - Electric power control unit coolant leak. Recall 22V899000 covers 872 vehicles. The Electric Power Control Unit may have been improperly sealed and can leak coolant internally. This may cause loss of drive power, increasing crash risk. Dealers will inspect and replace the EPCU as needed at no cost. Owner notification letters were mailed in March 2023.
Owners facing repeated repairs or unresolved safety defects related to these recalls may have rights under their state’s lemon law. Consulting a legal professional can help determine eligibility based on the vehicle’s repair history and recall status.

About 7 months ago, "Refill Inverter Coolant" warning came up. Since then, I've scheduled service appoitment wtih Van Nuys Kia dealership 5 times to resolve this issue, but even after recent appoitment 2 weeks ago, this warning is still came up on my dashboard. Every time I start the car, the persistent refill inverter coolant light comes on. I believe I am experiencing this issue because KIA and their dealership where I bought my car doesn't want take ownership of this issue and resolve it. I am deeply concerned about my safety and the safety of my children when I drive my Kia vehicle.
