There are five recalls affecting various systems primarily involving propane equipment and labeling. These recalls cover defects in propane regulators, propane bottle brackets, and incorrect tire rim size information on Federal Identification Labels.
- Propane regulator failure. NHTSA recall 21V708000 affects 95,885 vehicles. The Winntec model 6020 two-stage propane regulators may fail, causing increased propane pressure. This increase can enlarge flames in gas appliances and raise fire risk. Dealers will replace the regulator and test propane systems free of charge.
- Incorrect Federal label rim size. NHTSA recall 18V429000 affects 20 vehicles. The Federal Identification Label may list a 15X6 rim size instead of the correct 15X5. Misleading rim information increases crash risk if an incorrect rim is installed. Dealers will replace the label at no cost.
- Propane bottle bracket failure. NHTSA recall 18V499000 affects 344 vehicles. Single propane bottle brackets with two mounting legs may break, risking detachment of the propane cylinder. Detachment poses injury and crash hazards. Dealers will replace the bracket with a stronger 3-legged version free of charge.
- Duplicate propane bracket recall. The recall listed under NHTSA 18V499000 is repeated for the same vehicles and defect involving propane bottle bracket failure. The remedy and risks remain as stated.
Owners dealing with repeated repairs or unresolved recall-related issues should review their rights under their state’s lemon law for protection against defective vehicles.
