2011 KEYSTONE RAPTOR Complaints and Recall Information

The 2011 KEYSTONE RAPTOR has 0 complaints and 6 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report issues related to propane system safety, electrical system concerns, and potential contamination in plumbing connections based on recall data.

Six recalls exist affecting multiple systems including the propane LPG system, electrical components, ovens, refrigerators, water plumbing, and fire extinguishers.

Recalls
  • Propane hose damage. Recall 10V295000 affects 84 vehicles where the propane hose for the slide room may contact the tire and become damaged. A propane leak near an ignition source could cause fire or explosion. Dealers add a metal plate to prevent contact with the tire.
  • Electrical transfer switch overheating. Recall 10V594000 impacts 6,297 trailers with a generator ready option. Improperly installed transfer switches can overheat electrical lugs causing fire risk. Dealers inspect and replace switches if needed. This recall was later superseded by campaign 11V-577.
  • Oven gas line fractures. Recall 10V478000 covers 5,459 units equipped with Atwood 35 Series ovens. Fractures in the gas line feeding the oven cavity burner may cause propane leaks, risking fire or explosion. Dealers perform pressure tests and replace leaking tubes for free.
  • Refrigerator thermal safety sensor defect. Recall 10V587000 relates to 4,770 recreational vehicles with 1200-series Norcold refrigerators. The sensors designed to shut off power when high temperatures occur may not respond quickly enough, allowing potential fires. Owners are to contact Norcold dealers for remedies at no charge.
  • Incorrect water line plumbing. Recall 11V078000 involves 47 units where the fresh water fill/draw line may connect to the black waste water tank. This misconnection risks contaminating fresh water and causing personal injury. Dealers inspect and correct water line connections free of charge.
  • Fire extinguisher malfunction. Recall 17V755000 affects over 1.2 million trailers including Keystone models from 2003-2018. Kidde plastic-handle and push-button fire extinguishers can clog, fail to discharge, or have nozzles detach causing injury and inoperability during a fire. Owners receive replacements from Kidde at no cost following notification.

Owners with unresolved safety defects, repeated repairs, or ongoing recall issues may have rights under their state lemon laws. Consulting with legal professionals familiar with these protections could help address persistent problems.

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling various 2003-2018 Crossroads, Dutchmen, and Keystone recreational trailers equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V755-5127.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. KEYSTONE IS RECALLING CERTAIN RECREATIONAL VEHICLES AND FIFTH WHEEL TRAILERS EQUIPPED WITH 1200-SERIES NORCOLD REFRIGERATORS. THE POPULATION OF REFRIGERATORS BEING ADDRESSED CONTAINS EITHER A SENSING ALGORITHM OR THERMAL SWITCH TO SHUT OFF POWER TO THE REFRIGERATOR WHEN HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE DETECTED IN ORDER TO PREVENT A POTENTIAL FIRE. THE RESPONSE TIMES OF THE SENSOR ALGORITHM AND THERMAL SWITCH DEVICES TO STOP POWER ARE NOT SUFFICIENT.

Risk: THE SENSING ALGORITHM OR THERMAL SWITCH INSTALLED TO SHUT OFF POWER TO THE REFRIGERATOR WHEN HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE DETECTED DUE TO A POSSIBLE HYDROGEN GAS LEAK MAY NOT SHUT OFF IN SUFFICIENT TIME TO PREVENT A FIRE.
