2021 KEYSTONE OUTBACK Complaints and Recall Information

The 2021 KEYSTONE OUTBACK has 2 complaints and 3 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report issues with a recall repair related to the frame, which fails repeatedly and renders the RV unsafe to tow. The repair was initially performed by the frame manufacturer BAL but has proven inadequate according to the complaints.

Common Issues
  • Frame recall failure. Repair to the frame recall performed by BAL repeatedly fails, making the RV unsafe for towing according to owner reports.

Three recalls affect the 2021 KEYSTONE OUTBACK. These involve tire pressure labeling and frame structural integrity, both of which impact vehicle safety and compliance with federal standards.

Recalls
  • Federal identification tag. NHTSA Recall 20V491000 affects 27 vehicles. The tire pressure on the tag incorrectly states 65 PSI instead of 80 PSI. Incorrect tire pressure labeling risks tire failure and crashes. Dealers replace the Federal Identification Tag free of charge.
  • Tire pressure. Included in recall 20V491000 impacting 27 vehicles. Incorrect tire pressure labeling may cause tire underinflation and failure. Owners will receive replacement tags at no cost.
  • Frame rail support. Recall 20V715000 covers 1,296 units. The frame rail where the draw bar attaches lacks adequate support, allowing it to buckle and increase crash risk. Dealers add reinforcement plates free of charge to correct the defect.

Owners facing repeated frame recall failures or unresolved safety defects may have rights under state lemon laws. Consulting those provisions could be advisable for individuals with ongoing repair issues or safety concerns.
