There are eight recalls addressing various defects impacting electrical systems, propane regulators, frame structure, and equipment safety. These recalls affect multiple vehicle components and focus on reducing risks like electrical shocks, fire hazards, and structural failures.

Recalls
  • Electrical system wiring. Recall 21V178000 affects 31 trailers with the OTG Solar package where the inverter may energize the shore power connection, risking electrical shock. Dealers will test and rewire inverters if necessary at no cost.
  • Solar Prep wiring. Recall 20V801000 covers 347 trailers with Solar Prep or OTG Solar Camping Package. Improper wiring to 12VDC breakers increases fire risk. Dealers will inspect and adjust wiring as needed free of charge.
  • Propane regulator failure. Recall 21V708000 involves 95,885 RVs including 2021 Cougars with Winntec 6020 two-stage propane regulators that may increase propane pressure. Dealers will replace regulators and test for leaks without cost.
  • Frame cross support. Recall 21V380000 applies to 1,990 Cougar 368MBI trailers where insufficient cross bracing can lead to frame buckling and increased crash risk. Dealers will add cross braces and outriggers free of charge.
  • Leaf spring hangers. Same as recall 21V380000 addressing the lack of cross support near spring hangers posing crash hazards. Repairs include installation of additional structural braces.
  • Range cooktop installation. Recall 20V302000 covers 192 2020-2021 Cougars with Furrion cooktops possibly allowing flame inversion during furnace use, increasing fire risk. Dealers will inspect and seal the cabinet to prevent this hazard at no charge.
  • Inverter wiring defect. Recall 20V670000 impacts 1,278 trailers with the OTG Solar package. Incorrect wiring may energize the shore power connection causing injury risk. Dealers will test and correct wiring free of charge.

Owners dealing with repeated repairs, unresolved recall issues, or safety-related defects should review their rights under applicable state lemon laws. Persistent problems with key systems may warrant legal consultation to understand potential protections.

SUSPENSION:FRONT:SPRINGS:LEAF SPRING ASSEMBLY:HANGER,BRACKET

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2017-2021 Keystone Cougar 368MBI trailers. The frame rails do not have enough cross support, which could cause them to buckle under certain side-load stress conditions.

Risk: A buckled frame rail can increase the risk of a crash.

EQUIPMENT:RECREATIONAL VEHICLE/TRAILER:120/240 VAC ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:INVERTER

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Cougar trailers equipped with the Off the Grid (OTG) Solar package. The inverter may have been incorrectly wired, causing power to energize the shore power connection, when in use.

Risk: If the inverter is turned on, and energizes the shore power connection, it can increase the risk of injury.

20V302000

EQUIPMENT:RECREATIONAL VEHICLE/TRAILER

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Cougar travel trailers, model 24RDS, equipped with a Furrion range cook top. The interior range cooktop is installed in a cabinet that may not be entirely sealed from the furnace cavity. As a result, during furnace operation, the interior range cooktop burner flame may invert.

Risk: If the cooktop burner flames invert, there is an increased risk of a fire and injury.
